After Update bad association on .asp files

Question

Ok, this seems a minor annoyance compared to what I've been reading but it's a real pain for me as I'm dealing with ASP pages all day long (web tech).
Since the update today (thru Software Update) any *.asp file I double-click opens up in Apple System Profiler. Ok, so I go and attempt to change the association back to my Smultron editor and it'll take for 1 file. But when I attempt to 'change all' the message comes back of do i want to change all "Smultron.app files" (ummm should be .asp files) and I say 'YES' and the system promptly re-applies the System Profiler association to EVERYTHING ASP.
Small other detail...smultron used to show up when I would do a 'Open With' now it's disappeared and I can only select it as 'Other' and browse the Applications folder.
Pleasee help....I've already dealt with a WinXP crash this week...this annoyance is just making my week suck more.

If you applied the 10.4.7 updater, it's probably an issue with something in there. So, I would first Repair Permissions, then apply the 10.4.7 Combo Updater for your Mac. It will overwrite whatever files may have been corrupted during the 10.4.6 to 10.4.7 update. As always, make sure you backup your critical files first, just in case.
