After update: can't go online with desktop app

when I try to work online with y desktop app this window opens up "going online, please wait" - then nothing happens. I already reinstalled Story and Air but the problem still exists. This started after an update a few days ago. Before everything was fine.
Please help, I have to be able to work offline and then go online to sync my work with others.

With the latest update of Story, now it will not be possible for you to work in online mode inside AIR application and use the functionality of online-offline syncing of your data, if you are a free Story user. Though you can work in AIR-offline if you are an existing user on that machine. You should receive a message regarding this at the time of login in AIR app.
So now you can only login to AIR-offline to access your work that is there on your machine while you can use browser app to access your data that is on the cloud.

Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then copy it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
Step 1
Triple-click the line of text below to select it:

This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which you do have to type. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. Type it carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. Heed that warning, but don't post it. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.
Step 3
Repeat with this line:

Remember, Steps 1-4 are all copy-and-paste — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output.
You can then quit Terminal.

Also try turning Off Face Time
Open Face Time
Go to the Preferences
Set it to Off.
Also make sure your router has the Time and Date/Time Zone set as this upsets Face Time which in turn upsets IChat

Reset your iPhone. Hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.
If you continue to have issues, try downloading the apps to iTunes on your computer, then sync your iPhone using iTunes.

Well, if they have truly disappeared then something is really messed up. For really messed up stuff, you need to set it to factory default condition, and then afterwards, restore it from your backup.

Installing the update does not change the Dock icons & it does not remove the older versions. Go to your Applications folder & launch the new Pages from there.

I have a 2.16 GHz Intel iMac and updated to 10.4.11 and now I'm unable to get online w/ mail, safari, itunes, etc. I'm wireless with a Belkin N1 router. My good ol' iBook 10.3.9 is working fine, so I know my modem and router are working. I've read other threads on the topic but I'm still having trouble. Well, I am able to browse the internet again, and actually i still don't know why exactly i wasn't before. The update seems to have fondled a bit with my network settings, the ip-address that I received from my local network had changed to a 192 number while normally this is a 172 number. After updating the network settings (actually nothing has changed, just some back and forth-changing) it got the right ip again and internet worked. I have actually no clue about the reason why it keeps changing ip's. Strange update this 10.4.11. Now I manually have changed my ip-address, hope it keeps working.

Hello. I have a new question. After updating a Pavilion 15 Notebook PC from 8.0 to 8.1, and having installed numerous, mostly, security-updates, my computer started having problems. When I want to play a video on, for example, Utube, it has difficulties openig the video's. Also when I'm playing a Solitairegame, the sounds don't correspond with the images anymore. Before I never had an issue with these things. Am really unhappy with it. People warned me that updating could bring trouble, and it seems it has started. Can anybody help me with these issues? Have you run the Windows 8.1 upgrade assistant & checked if there are no compatibility problems before going in for upgrade.
