After update to 10.7.1, Wifi retrieved after wake up from sleep?

Anyone who had "no wifi after wake up from sleep @ MBA 2011 " issue before, is this fixed after 10.7.1 update installed? Any tester please drop your comment.

In another Mac forum saying that after the 10.7.1 update, need to reset the PRAM to get this issue solved.

  • After updating to 10.4.4 p/w not required waking from sleep/screen saver

I have this checked on in the Security Pref. panel, but the password dialog is not displayed. The computer just wakes from sleep/screen saver without requiring my p/w. Anyone else?

The important thing for the future imho, is to always Repair Permissions before & after any update... seems to ward off most of these problems. Of course that is only good if the disk is Verified once in awhile.

In fact I'd start with those 2 now, if that doesn't help you may need to reapply some updates by getting them directly from apple>downloads.

  • 27"iMac (mid 2011) wifi won't wake up from sleep

I have been using my brand new core i7 27" iMac for the last week! And I have noticed a wifi bug that's driving me crazy!
Everytime my iMac goes to sleep when I wake it up the wifi won't detect any networks at all. It's just like if the wireless card is still sleeping! At first I waited for a while because I thought it would take longer to wake up! But it never detected any networks at all.
If I manually turn the wifi Off and then turn it back ON then  it detects my network and all the wireless networks around with any problem.
My home router is an Airport Extreme Dual Band !
Is anyone out there having the same issue?  or could it be that I got a faulty airport extreme card in my iMac??

    Hi Npalamidis,
finally I solved the problem by changing the channel in my router manually - that's all!
I would never have considered so because my iMac late 2007 which was replaced by the new iMac worked at the same place and with the same router without any problems.
By chance I found a general hint to do so in a forum...
However - the story remains strange and if you do not have at least a minimum of computer knowledge you are totally lost!
Hope, you get your problem solved as well!

  • My iMac will not wake up from sleep after upgrading to OS X Mavericks

After upgrading to OS X, my iMac will not wake up from sleep.  Each time I have to do a hard restart.  Is there a fix for this problem?

    Hi,
I have just had the same problem with my iMac and after upgrading to Mavericks my iMac would not wake without pressing the power off button and re-booting.
Anyway, I have since done a complete new install on my iMac and have gone 5 days without an issue with the iMac not waking.  It was a bit of a pain to do but my own view so far is that the problem is linked to the upgrading of the OS instead of a clean install.
My iMac now flies with a new OS installed instead of an upgrade.

  • After updating to iOS 5, I cannot retrieve Yahoo Mail

After updating to iOS 5, I cannot retrieve up to date Yahoo Mail.  It successfully connects.  But it only shows some old emails.  Nothing current.  I've deleted the Yahoo connector and recreated it.  Same thing.  I know I have new emails waiting in my Yahoo Inbox, yet they're not showing on my iPhone.
    Any ideas?

I fixed Yahoo Mail on my 3GS with iOS 5:  In Settings, "Mail, Contacts, Calendars", I reduced "Show" to "50 Recent Messages"
It had been set to "200 Recent Messages"
I also have an Exchange and MobileMe account setup on the phone.
I guess that there is not enough memory or something with iOS 5 on some devices to hold 200 Recent Messages from multiple accounts.
    Hope this helps!

  • After update to OS X 10.7.5 on my Mac Pro (2009) USB ports don't work at all after wake up from sleep mode; with 10.7.4 there was (nearly) any problem.

    hello,
after update to OS X 10.7.5 on my Mac Pro (2009) USB ports don't work at all after wake up from sleep mode; with 10.7.4 there was (nearly) any problem.
the used ports appear to be "killed"; the unused USB ports seem to work, but the Mac works in slow-motion.
The only "solution" is to restart my Mac.
    - SMC-reset, PRAM-reset or repairing user rights had no positive effect; what is the solution - a bug-fix-update???

I have a mac mini (A1283) with OS 10.7.4. Upon upgrading to 10.7.5 it did not start up again. Instead, the light was on and the hard drive did not start up. The light on the connected USB mouse was not lit.
    My solution:
    Cold start with Command-v pressed.
This should start Verbose mode (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1492 ).
What happened on my mac mini was that the grey startup screen with the Apple logo appeared for a long while before the login screen came.
Maybe Cmd-v set open firmware params and fixed some corruption.
Anyway: my mac mini works again.

Same problem here, and it's not isolated.

I believe you will find you can again sync Photos if you delete the "iPod Photo Cache", but predict that any subsequent attempt will fail.  In my case, the enxt sync removes all the photos again - I've seen other reports of error messages upon sync.  Mine just fails silently. :-)

    Check for hardware issues
Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the alert when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

After updating my iOS the display goes white after I end a call or if I get a missed call?

Did you reset your phone like this: Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.
If that didn't help I suggest having a technician examine your phone. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

  • After 10.9.3 update monitor doesn't wake up from sleep

I have an LCD connected to the Mac Mini via a mini-DP to DVI adapter and a video projector is connected directly at the HDMI.
The LCD is the "main" screen while the projector is only switched on for watching TV or movies.
My "Computer sleep" is set to "never" and "display sleep" to 15min.
All was working well until I updated to 10.9.3 ...
Now, when the LCD goes to sleep (projector is powered off) it doesn't wake up any more.
The computer is running and it is responding to my key-presses etc. but the monitor remains in a coma.
Powering the monitor off and on again resolves the issue, e.g. the display shows correctly.
This is however only a temporary fix as it refuses to wake up  upon the next sleep...
The monitor itself is fine, it works on other systems flawlessly, e.g. on an older Mini.
    Any ideas?
I have already force-fed it with the combo-udate but that didn't help.

My iphone 3GS does the same thing, not only does it suddenly fail to wake up from sleep. It just crashes and I have to do a hard reset. Today it just turned off when the ipod was playing I was a mile away from it and it was in airplane mode as well. I have restored from backup once and would dearly love to have it downgraded but that doesn't seem to be much of an option. My phone ran like a dream before the upgrade....now I hate to say it but its completely unreliable.
With so many people experiencing the same problem it makes me wonder why there isn't a fix.

  • Windows 10 updated now HP Pavilion won't wake up from sleep

Since I upgraded to W10 this week, my laptop now will not wake up from sleep.  I've searched around on the net and so far can only find people having problems putting their laptop to sleep.  I did follow the advice from one of those on the HP forum, to upgrade a driver, which I figured couldn't hurt.  It made no difference though.   When I come to wake my computer up, which always was by just lifting the lid, now nothing.  The power light will glow solid and the wifi light glows orange (as opposed to its usual white solid when machine is running).  Other than that, noting.  No button pressing or screen tapping of any kind will bring it to life and the only solution is to press and hold the power button to force full shutdown and start again.   May be only 3 days into it but it's already driving me mad.     Any suggestions welcome!ThanksJulie

Hmmm... I'm on the fence on that one as the software update is Microsoft's so the logical consumer in me says that it shouldn't be HP's responsibility to create the fix.  I understand your frustration but from the legal perspective under the UK consumer law, I think HP may well be within their rights to deflect the liability to Microsoft - but that's a terrible example of customer service, after all you've got an HP machine......  BUT (devil's advocate here) HP haven't released the software update or prompted consumers to install it.... so from their point of view, they can probably quite rightly and fairly bury their heads in the sand.   The warranty you will have for your machine probably will exclude software issues for anything other than factory installation or possibly HP's own updates.  (that's me speaking as a former Trading Standards Officer, so not without a bit of knowledge on the matter...)
That said..............  I did follow the fix that was posted earlier and so far it's looking good.  I've left my machine for over 2 hours and it sprung back into life every time today since I followed the BIOS update suggested.
I'm sorry to hear that you've had a bad response from HP "Customer Service" but nothing to stop you complaining about that..!!    I'm a great fan of going straight to the top and Andy appears to be the current MD for HP.  Whether or not they accept responsibilty for the issues we're all having, they still should be offering a higher standard of response and customer service than that - whoever's "fault" the problems are, they're certainly not the consumer's.

  • Output volume at maximum after wake-up from sleep

    Hi,
I very often find my sound output volume at maximum level after my MacPro (10.6.2) wakes up from sleep. And I always have it set at about 20%. An unexpected 100% is overwhelming loud... I have no idea how to solve it. Anyone with a possible solution?
    Mr. Pen

I use a little Preference Pane called Startup Sound which lets you set a default startup chime level. It hasn't been updated for ages, nor tested on 10.6, but it seems to work fine. You could give it a quick test to see if it helps.

Please read this whole message before doing anything. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it. The purpose of this test is to determine whether your problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click  Log in.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.
