After updating iTunes, old library is gone
After updating iTunes, I now get a message that tells me that my Shuffle is linked to another libary, and asks me if I want to erase my Shuffle and link to the new, empty library. When I say no, neither the computer nor iTunes recognizes that the Shuffle is connected. I do not want to erase my shuffle and start over. And what about the songs I had purchased that are in the old library? I can see an iTunes 4 Music Library file, and files for the songs I purchased on iTunes, but can not open or import them. What gives?
Theron: It's not too big an issue. Windows and iTunes have gotten a tad confused as to what is in your library. The following link on How to recreate your Library will sort you out.

I've never had a problem with itunes until now, which is why this is my first post!
I just updated to the most recent version of itunes 8.2, and after doing so it seems the Itunes store is the only thing functioning! When I go to my music library or previous playlists that I've created I have only an empty black screen within the traditional itunes window. The screen is also black when I plug in my itouch.
I've rebooted my computer several times, and repaired the install twice for both itunes and quicktime. What else can I do? And I'm a pretty simple when it comes to computers so if you have a suggestion you may have to really spell it out for me. Please and thank you!
Edit: It is also taking MUCH longer than normal for Itunes to launch after clicking it from the desktop.

After update, Itunes can't load. I get error message R6034, attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
I also get error code 7 (Windows error 1114), saying itunes wasn't installed correctly. It appears that I am not the only one with this issue. what is wrong with the latest update?? After updating iTunes to 11.0.1.12 and updating Apple TV to 5.1.1 my Apple TV is no longer picking up my photo library. It just keeps saying "loading library" but never brings the pictures up. It also tells me that home sharing isn't on even though it is and then I have to turn it off and on on the PC so the Apple TV even recognizes the photo library. These issues didn't happen with previous versions. Any ideas?
Update on my previous comment. I have solved my issue. Issue was with Windows 7 firewall not operating correctly. I was unable to add itunes to the 'Allow programs to communicate through windows firewall'. Followed the instructions to the foot of the page, restarted PC, normal service resumed on windows firewall, added itunes to list to communicate through firewall. restarted itunes, restarted appletv, success!!!

I recently updated my iTunes to 11.0.4.4. After doing this, my ipod touch 4Gen will no longer sync as it gives me a statement about the system not having enough memory left to sync ["The iPod...cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the iTunes library (additional 2.73GB required)"]. It has 7.96 GB free on a 32GB iPod. It synced just fine prior to the update and I did not add more than 7.96 GB of files to the library after updating iTunes. Please Help! This is a fustrating situation where I can not sync my music, or anything else for that matter, with this issue. Thanks in advance for all your help.

I tried the manual method. I was able to set the music/video to manual and then restarted the entire system. After restart, I re-attached the ipod touch to the computer. The sync automatically ran for everything that wasn't set to manual and it completed without a problem. I then reset the music/video to automatically sync and restarted the entire coputer/ipod set again. This time when I re-attached the ipod, EVERYTHING synced and there were no problems reported. I've never had to do this before, but I will keep it in mind if something like this happens again. Thank you for pointing me to the manual sync. -

- Try moving the backup file to a safe location so iTunes has to create an entire new one.. It is locate here and you may have to have show hiddn files turned on.

After updating iTunes this week Windows 8 recognizes the iPod but does not offer an option to open with iTunes. iTunes does not recognize iPod Touch. Have followed all the steps but without success. Is there a solution with iTunes?
I followed all the instructions on the suggested page. Many files in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\ and C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\ could not be deleted. Message said ""Cannot delete files: It is being used by another person or program"' but could not find iPodService.exe in task manager (also, the "Cannont delete ... " did not mention iPodService.exe).
Deleted all that I could. Reinstalled iTunes. Still same result. iTunes and computer both recognize my old iPod. Only the computer recognizes iPod Touch. -
Home Sharing no longer working after updating iTunes
After updating iTunes on both my computers to version 10.7, the home sharing feature is now not working. One computer can see and access the other's library but the other cannot see its. I have checked the sharing preferences on both computers. Both have 'Share my library on my local network' and 'Share entire library' checked and neither are set to require a password. I have turned on home sharing from the 'Advanced' sub menu in the menu bar and both use the same Apple ID.
Any thoughts on how I can fix this. I think it is just a bug and should hopefully get fixed but maybe it's just me.I'm up and running. Spoke with Apple and they had me go to : preferences, network and create a new location. That seems to have reset something. I had to reset all my devices back to my main network that had stopped working. The guest network will not let Home Sharing work, only the main network.
Others have been able to use Home Sharing without clicking "Done" after typing in their password. After you click "Done" the Shared disappears in iTunes.

It sounds like you bough the song only, not the song and the ringtone.
Ringtones via itunes are available in the U.S. only.
In the U.S. to make a ringtone you:
Buy the song with a bell - 99 cents
Find the song in your library and click the bell
This bring up the editor.
You edit the song to the portion you want.
Then click buy to purchase the ringtone - another 99 cents.
Then it shows up in ringtones and you can sync.
As I said, this method of creating ringtones is available in the U.S. only.

After updating iTunes and iPhone 3gs AppleMobileDeviceService.exe has been taking over 50% of my CPU. When i attempt to sync my iPhone iTunes hanges on backing up. I have uninstalled all the apple software and reintalled it. This fixed the problem until QuickTime updated. Immediately following the update Apple...Services.exe went haywire agian. Any help?

After updating itunes three (3) days ago - itunes close shortly after starting with the message "a problem occured and cannot be solved, please close application" - Platform: WIN7 - iTunes 11.2.9.115
Start with the third box in Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
If that doesn't work, use the steps in the second box to repair your iTunes installation. Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup advice elsewhere in the user tip.
