Well, just for future reference, any time you do an iOS upgrade, it is a good idea to back up your device just prior to doing the download. You can back it up to iCloud or to iTunes. Personally, I prefer to back it up to iTunes, and then to do the download via iTunes as well. Doing a Wifi download can, by the very nature of the OTA environment, run into more issues than a hard-wired one via iTunes.
If it is just a version release (like 8.0.1, or 8.0.2), then I might download it via Wifi, since the content is not likely to be very large. But for any major new release (7 to 8, etc.) it is always a good idea to do it via the USB cable rather than OTA.
I would also suggest that you set up your device to do automatic iCloud backups. Whenever it is turned on (i.e., not manually powered off - it can be "asleep"), plugged into a power source, and connected to Wifi, it will do an automatic backup every 24 hours. Mine usually backs up at night.
But even with my iCloud backup in reserve, I still did an iTunes backup before I upgraded to iOS 8. I like having the extra security of that second backup to choose from, should I need it. Here is a support article comparing the two types of backup:

There was something you could have done, bought extended warrenty, would have covered this. Apple is outside of it's one year warrenty policy, they had the agreement, and when you update you also sign an agreement that you would be responsiable for any problems that occur.
The best thing you can do is the Out of warrenty for 199$; you didn't get additional coverage; something bad happen, be glad they offer the OOW.

When i try to use the phone the screen is not working at all , altough touch id sensor w/ home button work , and power buttton works. If you are having a reproduceable issue with your iPhone's touchscreen such as you describe - that is it stops functioning only after a particular sequence of steps, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First I would suggest updating your iPhone's operating system to version 8.1. For directions see this article -

I have no idea what may have caused your MacBook to stop working, but from your description it kind of sounds like it may have started before you ran Software Update and installed the new Apps. Just the general slow feeling and bugginess is what tips me off. You said that you weren't sure if you had closed all open windows, that doesn't matter if the computer restarts itself. It automatically closes all other open applications when restarting.
As to your data being retrievable, if when you take it in they do a fresh install of the OS, then no, it will not be unless you want to pay several thousand dollars to a software retrieval company.
I am glad to hear that you have taken into the Apple Store to get it fixed, and that you have all of your purchased music backed up to your iPod. You should be able to just transfer it all back to iTunes once you get your computer back should it be necessary.
As a side note, the proper place for this topic would probably in the MacBook forums, not iTunes since there is no evidence that iTunes started the issue.

Most of your purchases content can be downloaded again via the Purchased tabs in each of the store. I realize that this will be a problem for the iTunes Store on the iPad, but that has nothing to do with apps, since apps are in the App Store.
If you backed up synced with iTunes before you restored the iPad, your content should be in iTunes on your Mac and you should be able to sync it back again.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
-When it says place the iPod in recovery mode use this program instead of the buttons.

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

I just did the update to version 5.2 on our ATV2 and now I'm having the exact same problem as the OP- all attempts to access any iTunes services i.e. Movies or TV result in dropping back to the ATV Main menu. Per Winston's suggestion, I logged out of iTunes and then tried to log back in. I am getting a message "the server is not responding- please try again later".
FWIW- all my non-iTunes services on the ATV are working fine- i.e. Netflix and YouTube.
Sounds like the update has overwhelmed the Apple servers.

In my situation, the screen simply started exhibiting the same symptoms a few weeks ago (early February) for no apparent reason. At first I thought the screen was dead, but discovered the heat solution by accident. Now I turn it on and keep it from going to sleep until I go to bed. Thank goodness the battery is still awesome on this thing.
I bought it new and still has the original screen, I keep it at home (never below 62 degrees). Coincidentally, this happened a day or two after the expiration of the warranty!! Any help figuring this one out would be eternally appreciated.

After updating to FireFox 16.0.1 in Windows, the address bar stopped working, as well as the search bar, though not immediately. Reinstall didn't fix it.

Initially I downloaded an AOL-optimized version, but when the problems came up I reinstalled the regular version and it was fine. Two days ago it randomly started again. Address bar won't go anywhere with enter or pressing the arrow button, and the search bar has no search engine. Trying add a search engine by clicking "manage search engines" doesn't help; the "add search enginges" button is unresponsive and there are none in the list to choose from. I uninstalled everything including my customizations and personal settings and reinstalled, which still didn't help. I tried disabling all the plugins and that didn't work either. I even tried searching from the FireFox home page search, since at that point it was the only page I could get to, and even that wouldn't search. The most recent add-on I downloaded was the Evernote Web Clipper I think, but it didn't seem to coincide with the start of the problems.
Update: I ran a malware program (MalWareBytes) and it came up with nothing. I also got back into FireFox to get the Troubleshooting Information and added it in. In addition, here's my complete plugin/extension list:

First: Try a clean install, (you have had a none standard version installed previously) that involves deleting the program files. Then if necessary try troubleshooting by creating and using a clean empty Firefox profile.

IOS 6 has had a lot of issues to date. I have a possible solution to offer but I cannot be sure it will work. Two ideas.
1. Reset the phone: hold the lock button and home button in at the same time for 10 seconds. This does nit erase anything, it's basically like rebooting a computer.
2. Factory reset: Hook up to a computer and go to iTunes. Sync the phone (if possible). Once synced, in the summary screen select factory reset (or may be another name, I'm working from memory) it's right beside update software. This will completely reset the phone, you will need to restore it after the reset it complete. I don't know if this will help you, but it may. I hope you can fix it, good luck!!!

After updating to OS X 10.5.8 my cd-drive does not work.

I just installed OS X Leopard 10.5.8 on my 1.25 GHz eMac and the cd-drive was working great. Then after letting it install the 10.5.8 combo update the drive quit working. If I manual open it and place a cd in the drive it will read, use and eject the cd with the eject key on the keyboard. If no cd is in the drive it has to be manually opened.
Leopard does not even have my drive listed in the disk utility. It is listed under about my Mac.
I have found several threads on this forum with the exact same issue as I am having, but have not found a resolution to the problem. If no resolution is found I will have to reinstall Tiger.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Did you repair permissions after doing the update? Those updates move a lot of furniture around and I find a lot of mis-set permissions after applying most Apple updates.
NOTE: Starting with about 10.5.6, DU started belching all sorts of meaningless lines of permission repairs. You may not be able to tellwhat's mis-set as the spurious messags tend to hide the real repairs, but let it run anyway.
If that doesn't restore function, a PRAM ZAP may help. The computer may have lost tack of some of its devices in the update. Rare, but can happen.
If that still gives no joy, you can add an eject icon in the menu bar. If that works then at least you avoid the manual opening. Here's how:
(instructions are for Tiger but should work in Leo):
Follow this path: Macintosh HD -> System -> Library -> Core Services -> Menu Extras. Inside the Menus Extras folder is a little file named Eject.menu. Double-click that file and you get a handy eject icon near the right end of the menu bar. Clicking/holding it is exactly the same function as the eject key on an Apple keyboard.
