? After updating my iTunes match, I noticed that some music files were no longer listed on my cloud on my laptop. They are still listed on my iPhone. These are files imported to the cloud from legitimate CDs.
Just updated iTunes Cloud. Noticed that some music files are missing, entire playlists. They were here a few hours ago, now they are not.
But they are still on the cloud menu on my smartphone.
Files uploaded to cloud from CDs, legit, no boots or anything like that.
My iTunes is 10/7.0.21. I have the newer version on a desktop and don't much care for it, so have resisted updating on the laptop, which is my primary computer.
I've rebooted the computer, turned off iTunes Match and turned it back on again. No change.
Lots of questions. How can my cloud catalog be different on different devices? How can I get this stuff back on my lap-top cloud? Anyone else having problems like this? I'm trying to trim my physical collection by importing stuff to the cloud and discarding the physical media. Am I shooting myself in the metaphorical foot?

I have updated album cover art in iTunes. Many are missing still so I added them for other sources. These album covers show up in ITunes on my computer. I then select update iTunes Match which appears to be happening. However, when I then view my collection in Music on my iPad or through Apple TV only some instances of my added art appear.

StuartTry unchecking the box that says Display Alblum Artwork and then click apply, then check it again and click apply once more. If all else fails restore your ipod and load all the music back onto it and the artwork will come with it.

I deleted a bunch of songs by sliding over the song, and simply deleting it. When I plugged it into my sisters laptop, the music is still present and ghostly/grey looking. I can't slide over it and delete it. It's taking up too much space on my iPhone!!! How can I delete these!?
(the computer used to sync music from my iPhone and such isn't working, so I do everything not from a laptop)It can't do that by itself. You had to click through several prompts telling it to restore it from a backup of an old phone for that to happen.
If the phone was not backed up to iCloud before this happened, or to another computer, then the data is gone. There is no way to recover it. -
Genres do not update in itunes match.
I updated / removed over 100 genre's that I did not used to a more consolidated list. After updating to itunes match my genre's on my iphone do not list properly, they are repeated again and again. I turned itunes off and back on, to no avail?
When you are making ID3 tag changes in iTunes do not use the "Update iTunes Match" command. When you use that command you are telling iTunes to use the data in the cloud and not what you just did. Just make the changes and leave them alone. However, if you are making a lot of changes to ID3 tags over a short period of time sometimes the changes will not stick and will get reverted. So make your ID3 tag changes in small batches. Also, if the tracks are downloaded to your iOS device your changes won't show up until you delete the downloaded files from the iOS device.

Do you have a backup? If so you could try restoring from that. Anything you created since the backup was made will be lost.

I had all of my music on an external hard drive that crashed. I have iTunes Match so all of my music was synced in the cloud. How do I now re-load my music back down onto a new external hard drive?

Play or download songs from iCloud
You can play songs directly from iCloud, or you can download songs so you can play them when you’re not connected to the Internet.
If a song is available in iCloud, it has a Download button next to it.
To play the song, double-click it.
To download the song, click the Download button.
After you download a song to a computer, it remains in the computer’s iTunes library, even if you turn off iTunes Match.
To only display downloaded songs in your iTunes library, choose View > Hide Music in the Cloud. This also hides any previous iTunes Store purchases you haven’t downloaded.

I just noticed that some of the movies I had in iTunes did not get transferred to the iPhone 5. The missing movies are shown as generic movie icons in the iTunes panel and are checked to select them. But they do not show up in iPhone Videos. How do I get the original movies to show up again and transfer to the iPhone? I recently upgraded Mac OS to 10.6.8
1. iTunes won't offer cloud downloads for songs that it "thinks" are in your library, even if it "knows" the files are missing. If you've exhaustively searched for the missing files and there is no prospect of repair by restoring to them to their original locations, or connecting to new ones, then delete that tracks that display both the missing exclamation mark and are of media kind Purchased/Protected AAC audio file. Don't hide from iTunes in the cloud when asked, close iTunes, then reopen. You can download from the cloud links or iTunes Store > Quicklinks > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer > All songs > Download all.
2. Why? Not sure, perhaps 3rd party tools or accidental key presses combined with previously hidden warning messages when trying to organize the library. There is a hint that using the feature to downsample media as it is synced to a device may also be involved, though I've not replicated it. Whatever the reason a backup would protect your media.

Did iTunes match complete its scan of your iTunes library on your computer? Do you have a back up on an ext HD?

After updating my iTunes per the update notice I received a run-time error R6034. Now I am unable to access iTunes at all.
Can someone tell me how to correct this problem?Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:

(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?

I went into the cloud on phone it was on. Turned off and back on. Now i have 6 of one contactDeleted face books also incase that was the issue. When I plug in iPhone (5.1.1) to computer, playlists show up on the iPhone (when plugged in), that do not appear when it is not plugged in. And I can't erase them. I have iTunes match, and deleted all my music on the iPhone, but that had no effect on the phantom playlist that shows up on the PC when I plug in the iPhone to the PC. I cannot manually move songs or playlists from the PC to the iPhone

I had a previous iPhone, my current iPhone and my iPad that are all connected to one cloud. Can I delete the backup from my previous iPhone? Will it delete in the cloud AND on the phone? or does it just delete from iCloud? or does it just delete from the phone? Someone please help!
You can delete the backup without any problem. Only the backup will be deleted from iCloud and nothing else will be deleted, so you can do it without worrying about losing data on iCloud or your devices

Your purchased music is availble for download again at no cost. If you have iTunes match service, you can download your matched music.

After I updated to iOS 8, I noticed that while copying photos to my PC, I see photos being categorized into many folders now. I also found some system files in each of the folders containing photos (in the name of Local Disk). Is this usual?
I couldn't find the edit button on my original post so I am posting an update here.
I have gone through more apps and have had good luck on all but one more. And it's not that the app doesn't work, I am talking about the Yahoo Weather app, It works fine, but when you swipe between cities the screen lags a bit and it sometimes doesn't move between pages the way it should. On iOS 7.1.2 it was smooth as butter but on iOS 8.0, not so much. I will post a note in the app store to let them know. I really like the Yahoo app better than the new stock app.
I have been going through my games and they all work fine. Angry Birds (Original and Stella), Canabalt, Minecraft, Bejeweled 2, Silly Walks, PopWords, Doodle Jump, Deep Green all seem to work just fine.
Starbucks app works as it should.
I will stop back again next week after I have had the weekend to play with it in detail and post my thoughts again.
