After updating my itunes won't open..?
After I downloaded iTunes 10.5.3 it would always start updating the library until it reached half the progress bar and then it would stop responding. So finally i found a downgraded version which I installed and then it still wouldn't open saying that the version was "outdated". FINALLY the 10.6 comes out, I download it and install it and now it refuses to open!
"itunes cannot open because of a problem"

I just get the "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close." message.
Let's first check to see if this is associated with a problem with your QuickTime. (iTunes needs a properly functioning QuickTime in order to work correctly.)
Try launching your QuickTime. Does it:
(a) launch perfectly fine?
(b) fail to launch with an error message? (If so, what does it say?)
(c) exhibit other peculiar behavior? (If so, could you describe it for us?)

Downloaded itunes 10.5.2. update, now itunes won't open!
I updated my itunes yesterday, after the process was complete my itunes will not open the only message I get is a Windows message that says
"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
Then another window pops up that suggests I download the newest version of itunes from the Apple website. I do that, I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it from the Apple website, I followed all the problem solutions from the website...nothing. I've uninstalled itunes, bonjur, apple software update, apple application support, apple mobile device support and restarted...nothing. I tried downloading my Windows updates, tried running a virus scan and updating my Mcafee security software...NOTHING IS WORKING. The last thing I tried was the Microsoft Fix It Center, it said there is no problem with the installation of my itunes...
Somebody help please!!!okay so here is what I am doing now...

After updating imovie, it won't open.
I have iMovie '11 on my MBP that I purchased just over a year ago now.
I made a video (about 7.5 minutes long) and although it was fine in the final edit in iMovie, when I published it, some of the bits of audio were moved around to different parts of the video. (This happened when I put it to youtube, facebook, AND just finalized it in general).
I thought it was just an iMovie bug, and it had been telling me I needed to update it for a while, so I updated it and restarted my computer.
NOW the program won't open at all. The icon will bounce and then say it isn't responding.
I performed a software update on my computer (which it was also due for) and restarted, but I'm still having the same problem.
Any suggestions?I just get the "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close." message.

Windows 7 ultimate, after update can not open itunes under my account shows up very light on task bar, but opens fine under other accounts on same computer
Hi M0M1!
I have an article for you that seems to describe your issue and can provide some helpful troubleshooting steps for this issue:
iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1717
Specifically, you will want to focus on this section of the article:
User-specific troubleshooting
If you experience the issue in one particular user account, the suggestions below may resolve the issue. Before proceeding, you'll need to make hidden files and folder visible in Windows using steps 1-5.
Remove iTunes Preference files. Some of the files that iTunes stores settings and preferences in may be unusable. iTunes saves its preferences in two folders. Move one of them to the desktop and test to see if the issue persists. If it does, move it back and remove the second folder. The locations for the preference folders are:
c:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes
c:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
Create a new iTunes Library.
Hold the Shift key while opening iTunes. You'll be asked to choose an iTunes library.
Choose Create Library.
In the following window, select a location to save the new iTunes Library.
Click Save. iTunes will open the new library. After you close iTunes, you can always select the original library by holding the Shift key while opening iTunes.
Recreate your iTunes Library. If your iTunes library has become unusable, rebuilding it may resolve the issue.
Check for issues with content files. Sometimes an audio file can cause iTunes to quit unexpectedly or stop responding when it's analyzing gapless playback information. To determine which file may be causing the issue, follow the steps below:
Quit iTunes.
Navigate to the iTunes folder:
Windows Vista: c:\users\username\Music\iTunes
Windows 7 and Windows 8: c:\users\username\My Music\iTunes
Move the iTunes Library.itl file to your desktop.
Open iTunes. You shouldn't see any content in iTunes.
Choose File > Add Folder to Library.
Navigate to the folder where your music is located:
Windows Vista: c:\users\username\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media
Windows 7 and Windows 8: c:\users\username\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media
Choose an artist, album, or song to add to the library.
Wait for iTunes to successfully add the item to your library and perform the gapless playback scan.
If successful, continue adding songs to your library.
If there is an issue with one of your files, you'll notice your issue reappear after you add it to the library. You should repeat these steps, being careful not to add the files that caused the issue.
Thanks for being a part of the Apple Support Communities!

Tried to open iPhoto after update to yosemite, won't open/no photos??
Recent update to Yosemite, iPhoto won't open,,,,,,are all my pictures lost??
Your pictures are probably not lost, but still safe in your iPhoto Library.
But the big problem is, that you will need iPhoto 9.6.1 - that is the only compatible version for Yosemite. If you did not purchase this version before yesterday, you cannot purchase it any longer, because Apple stopped selling iPhoto at the App Store.
Try, if the AppStore will let you update iPhoto from the Updates page of the AppStore, this might be possible, if iPhoto is showing among your Purchases on the Purchased page.
Otherwise, make a backup of your iPhoto Library and then open it in the new Photos.app. Launch Photos while holding down the alt/optionss key and select your iPhoto Library. This will migrate the iPhoto Library to a Photos library and let you browse your photos.

After updating Facebook, it won't open or delete
I tried to update Facebook yesterday and now it seems to have crashed. The app logo is dull in colour and won't open or delete. Tried to delete in settings but logo stayed. Tried to reload through the App Store but it was unable to do so. Help please.
Not all of them. Just the ones that show a green "arrow tab" in the top right corner. Is there any fix for this?
The songs with the green arrow tab are stored in iCloud and not on your iPad. Before you can open or delete them, you need to download them from iCloud onto your iPad. To download them press "Edit" in song view and select a song, then "+". This will create a copy on your iPad.

Installed new update, now Itunes won't open
I installed the new update, now when I try to open itunes it just stays on the bottom. The arrow is under it like it's open, but the window doesn't come up. Also, it won't even force quit, to get it to turn off I have to reboot.
JasonJason, I just downloaded the latest update as well and sure enough, iTunes crashes during start-up every single time - the good ol' rainbow pinwheel keeps going and I can't force quit either. I will probably try to delete preferences or something. If you find a fix or if anyone else knows of a fix, I would very much appreciate it. By the way, I am running iTunes on a 15" MBPro and running the latest OS update. Wondering what computer you are running it on. Good luck. I will post back if I figure out a fix.

ITunes won't open after I updated to 8.0.1
Hello,
Here's a little background on what's been going with itunes before the recent problem. These past couple weeks I've tried to update my itunes to 8.0.1 through the Apple Software Update. It never worked and at the end of the process it would tell me to try again or do it manually. Also, I downloaded two new videos today that were already in the correct format. I added it to the itunes library with no problem and tried to convert the videos to the correct format just incase it wasn't. It gave me the message that the video was already in the correct format. When I tried to sync it with my ipod it told me the videos weren't in the correct format.
Ok so for the overall the main problem right now is itunes won't open at all. I manually downloaded the update and I restarted the laptop after I finished updating itunes. Since then, itunes won't open and continuously gives me this message "The itunes application could not be opened. an unknown error occurred (-50)". I've restarted my computer a few times and looked up as many forums and solutions I could, but no luck. Please, if someone could help, let me know. Thank you.Refer this article to remove SC Info.sidb file

ITunes won't open after OS update to Yosmite
ITunes won't open after OS update, ITunes has been updated, it won't open or bounce. It will not allow me to move it to trash or reinstall it. I have already updated to OS X Yosmite two times as directed by apple, I have rebooted in safe made as well as Command/Option/P/R before start up. I have opened console/system log to see if there is anything going on but when I click on Itunes nothing happens, not even so much as half a line of script. I'm stumped. If I wanted someone to tell me to turn it off and on again I'd just watch IT Crowd. please help
Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities
If you head into your applications folder and locate iTunes. Right click iTunes and show package contents. In there there will be a contents folder --> MacOS --> double click on the iTunes terminal icon. This should force iTunes to open via a terminal window and at the very least it will tell you what it is getting stuck on. -
After an iTunes update failed to install, iTunes won't open and I get the following two windows. Program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer, and iTunes not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (windows error 126) When I reinstall I get the same messages and ITunes won't open.
Click here and follow the instructions.

Itunes won't open after update to 11
I've been running Itunes 10 on my macbook pro (Snow Leopard) until today when I updated to 11. The update appeared to complete successfully (no error messages). But afterwards when I try to open iTunes it immediately exits (with no user-facing message) and Console shows a message like this:
12/3/13 1:36:23 PM com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[143] com.apple.console ([0x0-0xdd0dd].com.apple.iTunes[1045]) Exited with exit code: 1
Some troubleshooting steps I've already tried:
Same thing happens if I try to start itunes in "safe mode".
Same thing happens if I try to start itunes from a different user account.
I've repaired permissions.
I've restarted a few times since installing Itunes and since repairing permissions.
Quicktime starts fine.
I'm not particularly interested in version 11 features, I'd be happy to have version 10 back -- or a working version 11.
But what I really really don't want is to lose any library information, playlists, play counts, ratings, etc. I want to be quite careful not to lose any of those.
One thing that looks suspicious to me is that it looks like in some way version 10 is still installed. At the end of the install, installd wrote both of these lines to the log in the same second:
12/3/13 11:39:10 AM installd[6928] install Installed "iTunes" (11.1.3)
12/3/13 11:39:10 AM installd[6928] install Installed "iTunes" (10.6.3)
Also if I open Software Update, under "Installed Software" it also shows both versions:
Thanks! After updating to OSX 10.9.3, my iTunes won't open. If I try to drag it to trash, I get the message "iTunes can't be modified or deleted because it is required by OS X".
