After updating software on my iPod touch, i lost all the music on my iPod and itunes said something is "missing"

I updated the software on my iPod touch and it did not sync properly eliminating all the music and photos from my iPod. When syncing again this morning, it wouldn't sync. Any suggestions?

The esact wording of th errot message is very importent. What was missing?

Under normal circumstances, an uninstall/reinstall does not touch your content. That being said, it's still always a good idea to maintain a backup in case of disasters.

for purchases from the iTunes store do this:
connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.

Unless you'd signed up to iTunes Match then they won't be in the Cloud, only music purchased from iTunes (if you are in a country where music can be re-downloaded) will be there. Have you not still got it on your computer and/or on a backup which you can use to sync it back to the iPad ?

Lost all my music in my library, and what is on my ipod is not correct

I'm not very good at this, this ipod and itunes is a bit confusing to me. Need help. Do I need to delete everything from my ipod and start fresh adding my cd's back to my itunes library, if so how do I delete off my ipod.

I need to get the music off my Ipod Nano 2nd GEN onto either ITunes or in a music foldes on my new computer. Not all the music was purchased from Apple Itunes HOW DO I DO THIS WITHOUT LOOSING ALL MY MUSIC??

I have not had a computer for several years and I just got a new one. My old computer got a virus and when that happened all my music was lost. Thank goodness I had it all on my Ipod Nano 2nd GEN. Now my problem is that I don't know how to get the music off my Ipod Nano onto my new computer!!! I was able to get the songs that I purchased thru ITunes by just authorizing my new computer. But I have alot more music that is on my Ipod nano that I can't put into my ITunes library. In fact, I can't even get my music into a file folder on my computer!! I really need help. I don't have any copies of the music anywhere else and some of it is hard to get. How do I get my music either into ITunes or into a file folder on my new computer or even if I could get my computer to recognize my Ipod and sync all the music into windows media or something like that. Every time I connect my IPod all that happens is that it tells me if I sync the IPod that it will replace all the music from my ITunes library on to my IPod. They don't have the music on their computer so they cannot transfer the iTunes folder, from the computer to their iPod and then to the new computer. And if they try to enable disk use on the iPod it will erase all the music that is on it. The method you cited is moving the files in a data format using the iPod as a flash drive. It doesn't work if they are in music format. That is why I suggested Yamipod.

I take it you didn't transfer purchases BEFORE you attempted to update your phone? If that's the case and you live in the US you can look at your purchase history and re-download the purchased music using iTunes. If you're outside the US, you're out of luck.

Since installing latest software on my iPhone, I've lost all my music. Help!

I've tried syncing several more times but always the same - no content in the music app/icon.
Previously, my music was on my iPod and, when I got my iPhone, iTunes downloaded all my music onto the iPhone and it resided in an "app" with iPod as the icon.
When I installed the latest version of the iTunes software, that iPod icon disappeared completely, a new one "Music" appeared but it's empty.

Using iTunes your iTunes Music Store songs can be transferred back to computer. For other songs you have to use another program. Many are available online or in some stores.

Clicking noise to the right of mouse pad, and very slow performance after updating software to Yosemite. Does anyone know what the issue might be?

So I recently updated to the latest Yosemite software (last night to be exact), and this morning i started to get a weird clicking and sort of grinding noise to the right of the mouse pad and extremely slow performance.
