After updating to iOS 8.3, my iPhone 5 no longer can connect to cellular service

After updating my iPhone 5 this morning to iOS 8.3, I am no longer able to get service. Upon rebooting the phone, or removing and replacing the SIM, it connects for about 30 seconds, then drops the network connectivity and is constantly 'Searching...', never finding service. I restored from my backup from the previous night before the upgrade, but that doesn't reset it back to iOS 8.2.
I've contacted my service provider, but it doesn't seem to be on their end.
What are my options here?

This is strange because my wife's iPhone 5c did the exact same thing. In one day it was 536MB. The other weird thing is that this happened while the iPhone was not being used. She was at work during this time and her iPhone was off and in the back room. I did call AT&T to ask them about it and they didn't know what happened either. The most they did was to put a note on the account that if we go over our data limit that they will credit it back this month. I've been checking every couple of days and it hasn't happened again. I'm glad I'm not the only one but I wish that there was an explanation.

    Change how it syncs by enabling Manually manage music and videos, then you can drag and drop the music that you want on your iPhone. Revert it back to test to see if that resolves the issue.

    After updating to iOS 6.1.2, iPhone 5 can't connect to iTunes. When i am trying to connect, then i can connect. After secods, the phone is not connecting with iTunes again. Then Automatically connect to iTunes again by itself.  
    My sound works with headphones, the alarm works, ringer works but can not listen to any music/videos without headphones plugged in.
    Then lock screen bugs; bypass fumble. When I start to open the iPhone and swiping is heavily to do on the slide to unlock. What's the matter with it?

    i did not understand last sentence  -  if i have one? you mean to say if i have data or not in my iphone?
    i have many pictures, messages, contacts which are very much important.
    so will it be all restore and will be backup again in my iphone if i restore?

    After updating to iOS 7 for my iPhone 5 last week, my sounds went away. Phone is randomly showing the ringer silent graphic without me touching the phone or putting it into this mode. The volume settings under sounds are on, notifications are all correct also, the vibrate switch on the side is NOT in the vibrate position. After pouring over threads for the past week, one suggestion fixed it for a day, but it's now reverted back to vibrate only mode!  I went to settings----general-----accessibility----under hearing switched mono audio off, like I said, fixed the problem for a day, but now that no longer works! It really seems to be a bug with the software update, which the the 7.0.3 did not fix. Help, would like my phone to work normally again. Suggestions?

    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like the iPhone is searchiong for a network. It looks like you have already done some troubleshooting. There are a few steps listed in this article you did not mention trying, they may be able to help the issue.

    Please tell me there is an easy fix to this problem!! I already had to go through contact-by-contact when I bought this phone and added contacts from my Blackberry and MS Outlook on the phone.  Many duplicated at that time and Apple said the only fix was to go through each one and decide to keep or delete.  I really don't want to do that again!

    I had this problem while I had iOS 5.1.1 installed for many months. Fortunately I only have about 150 contacts and only about half of them duplicated. I found that my problem was the way thing were set up in Outlook. I removed all of the duplicates and corrected everything in Outlook contacts (ignoring the address book) and have not had the problem since, Hope this helps.

    After that, do not Sign In Facebook, I see many people got problems after Sign In Facebook.
    In my device, I do not fill last names, I just fill names in "First Name".
    Another question: Are you sync your contacts with Outlook or iCloud? I have suggested another one to do not sync with Outlook and, in iTunes:
    1.In resume, mark "Backup in iCloud"
    2. open Information and unmark the "Sync Contacts With". roll down the page and, in "Advance" field, unmark everything.
    3.Sync your device again.

    Do you have an AT&T carrier file number showing? The only time you can use Facetime on AT&T cellular is if you are using one of their Shared Data plans. While they have not locked your phone, it appears their carrier file is in control of your device when you have the AT&T SIM card in there.

    I'm having the identical problem on my iPhone 4 after upgrading to IOS 7--no ability to update apps or download new apps.  Here is what Apple tech support emailed to me:
    I understand that you are unable to download or update applications after updating iOS7 on your iTunes. I know you must be eager to get this resolved and I will be happy to help you today.
    ... to help you better with this issue I would request you to please try this steps given below to resolve your issue.
    Please follow this steps:
    1) Double tap the home button
    2) Hold down on an icon
    3) Tap the red "X" on iTunes, and the App Store.
    4) Tap Settings > Store > Tap your Apple ID, and choose sign out
    5) Tap Settings
    6) Tap General
    7) Tap Reset
    8) Tap Network Settings
    Once it has been closed with multi-tasking, and you have rebooted the device in the network settings reset, please sign in, and try again. 
      Howevr, if you are facing the same issue than for this issue, you may need to call our AppleCare technical support team. A technical Advisor will be able to tell you about Apple's complimentary and fee-based support. The technical Advisor can also assist you in determining what option might be most helpful to you in this case.
    Mildly amusing that the instructions for force-closing a program are the IOS 6 instructions, which do not work on IOS 7. 
    Otherwise I'm having a little success with this.  Some apps (not all) are updating. It seems that a few more apps update each time I go through the process (close everything, sign out, and either reset or reboot, then go to the app store, sign in and try to update all).  So far it has been a very lengthy, iterative process.

    At last, the BEST solution!
    In addition to my last post, here is the solution for fixing this problem without syncing your contacts with icloud.
    It takes about 2 minutes and permanently solves the problem so you can start adding and editing your contacts again on IOS 5.1.1!
    Basically you just need to follow these steps from the Settings page:
    Enable Airplane Mode
    Go to iCloud settings
    Turn on Contacts
    Agree to 'Merge Contact'
    Wait for pop up to confim iCloud contacts are on
    Turn off Contacts
    Confirm that you want to Keep your Contact on the iPhone
    Wait for pop up to confim iCloud contacts are off
    Disable Airplane Mode
    Airplane Mode temporarily blocks all phone signal/data to stop your contacts merging with icloud.

    I would start by checking setting general restrictions to see if its restricted.
    8if it's not, then it's hiding somewhere on your phone. Swipe down to search the iPhone from the home screen and see where it's at.

    I am back with an update. I turned off Match on both the ipad and the iphone 5. By doing so I was able to sync my Iphone and ipad to itunes and store the music on my devices rather than the slow streaming.  So far this has fixed my problems with the iphone I have all my music, playlist, most of the album art and so on.  But the ipad is a different story.  I have the music and artist but not one playlist  I am sure Apple will have an upgrade soon that will address these issues they are usually very good about this. 
    Now have any of you experienced another problem that has existed as long as I have used faces in Aperture.
    I have over 200 faces and they are organized a-z problem is I have this going on A-Z folowed by a few that start over A-Z followed by another few A-Z and again a 4th time A-Z.  Imagine how difficult it is while I am showing someone the great features of my iphone, ipad and imac.  Which I do talk highly of all the time.  But how do I explain that even though their name starts with a or b or what ever they are not important enough to me to be in the first list of A-Z or even the 2nd or 3rd list of A-Z someohow they are in the 4th section of the list!!!!
    I have managed to get the Imac to fix this but for some reason the IOS devices do not.   Any ideas?
