After updating to ios7 ipad screen no longer dims out

My ipad screen used to dim out after a period of non use, to save battery & screen i assume.
This dosn't happen automatically anymore after updating to ios7.
Overdrive dosn't work now, and Global News Skytracker is broken.
Also, bringing up the Control Center by swiping up from the bottom is difficult on the home screen and impossible from an app.
I would suggest to ipad owners who haven't yet updated to wait a while.

Problem solved-
I thought auto-lock had something to do with locking itself.
Actually, that controls the dimmer and self turning off function.
I turned it off by mistake.
Overdrive requires re-installation at the present time for users updating from old ios.

Is it true that after updating to iOS7 I can no longer click the home button once from the home screen to lock the phone? I was in the habit of clicking the home button once to return to the home screen and then click it again to lock the phone.

This was a very convenient way of locking the phone to prevent inadvertantly opening an app or making a call when putting the phone in my pocket. Now it seems like I have to use my other hand to press the sleep/wake button on the top right.

No such function has ever existed. Doing what you suggest used to take you to Spotlight search, which is not required now as that can be accessed on every home screen with a pull-down.

After updating to ios7 on my iPad, it would keep resetting itself and show the apple logo until finally starting up. Over a few days this got worse and worse and eventually stopped working where I would have to hold the home and on/off buttons to reset it. I have now reached a point where it no longer starts up. Having went to an apple store they say they can't identify the issue as they can't start it up and offered me to pay £199 to have it replaced (how very nice of them). I have had online chats with an advisor and a senior advisor who have diagnosed this as a 'hardware' issue!!!
Guess what apple, no it is not, this is a result of the updgrade to ios7!!! My iPad worked perfect before and I will not be paying £199 to replace it!!!

Re wifi:
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

After updating to iOS7 and restoring my phone from backup, my text messages are still gone. How can I fix this? Right before I updated to iOS7 I backed up my phone. After the update was complete, my phone had none of my information on it so I restored it from back up which says "Restoring from backup will not change the firmware, but will restore pictures, contacts, calendars, text messages, etc." So I am confused as to why it isn't working. I tried twice and everything came back except text messages. This isn't the first time I've had this happen after updating my phone but I'm tired of dealing with this issue. Can anyone tell me how to get my text messages back or what I did wrong?

I finally just resolved this after not being able to enable location services since upagrading to iOS 7. Posting the solution here 'cause I couldn't find it anywhere else.
I enabled Restrictions under Settings > General > Restrictions and created a passcode (I'm not sure if this was part of the solution, but it wasn't enabled for me by default.)
In Restrictions, under Privacy, Location Services was set to "Allow Changes" (This still didn't solve the issue of the greyed-out Location Services switch though - I still couldn't turn it on.)
Also in Restrictions, I also switched "Find My Friends" to "Allow Changes"
Once I did step 3, the switch under Settings > Privacy > Location Services was no longer greyed out and could be switched on.

Wireless printing - from shipping sites - not working after update to iOS7

I am no longer able to print shipping labels from PayPal or USPS after updating to iOS7. I am able to print emails, etc. from other sites online - just not shipping labels. Is anyone else having the same problem? Is there a fix?

Then restart the device.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, then swipe the slider to power off.
Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Then try printing.

Lagging after update to iOs7
