  • I have latest iTunes installed but can't connect to the Store

I have tried v10.4 & v10.5, have disabled the firewall, added trusted domains & required ports.
Deleted the hosts file & lots of other things
I enter my apple ID & get the message that this ID has not been used in the store before & must be reviewd.
When I do this I get Welcome to the iTunes Store. blah , blah
To begin creating your Apple ID, click Continue.
When I click on continue, the yellow box at top says Accessing iTunes Store then when it stops - Nothing happens!!!
If I run diagnostics it tells me I passed all tests OK.
    OS is Vista64
    Any ideas

This has been a bit of a problem for a while, one reason, it cannot talk to the apple servers.
Some firewall, mainly Bullguard, zonealarm, avg and a few others are blocking traffic to the site even if disabled, these need to be uninstalled.
If uninstalling doesnt work then you need to run this command as an administrator from the CMD prompt.
    netsh winsock reset
This should resolve the issue your having.
Finally its known that some spyware and trojan scanners along with PCTOOLS causes problems and these need to be uninstalled aswell if you have them on your pc.
    Hope this helps.

  • After updating to 5.1, I can't connect to the activation server.

And Itunes says there is no SIM card, even though there is.

What happens when you try?  Does it not accept the change?  Does it show that it changed but does not actually change?
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore.  Has any of that been tried?

  • Some of my earliest photos are not showing on my phone after updating to iOS7. They can be seen in the app "over" which allows for art and lettering to be placed on a photo but I can not find an album for photos before 2012.

Some of my earliest photos are not showing on my phone5 after updating to iOS7. They can be seen in the app "over" which allows for art and lettering to be placed on a photo but I cannot find an album or year for photos before 2012 (in the photo app). The iphone says the photo content is there when I check in "about" under general in settings. So the pictures seem to be somewhere but I just can't access from from the photo app. Any suggestions. I also know that they were there before the iOS7 upgrade as I was looking for a pre 2012 picture last week and it we there.

After updating to 4.3 I can't connect to wi-fi because the "Internet speeds are too slow". So what speed does it need?

I called tech support and I got the same **** canned response, backup and reset to factory settings.  Yeah right!  Everything was fine until Verizon shoved the software update down my throat.  I finally unchecked the box in Wi-Fi settings for auto network switch.  However, I still get the "Your Internet connection is unstable" warning no matter what Wi-Fi connection I hit.
In a related story, I received a new or refurbished phone as my original SIII had AC/charging connection issues.  I called probably three times to attempt to back up my data, went into two stores in attempts to have them transfer the information over, and all were too incompetent and inept to assist me.  Only when talking to someone about this Wi-Fi issue, did someone actually know how to back up everything.  Of course by this time, I had to send the new phone back because Verizon charged me $400 before I got everything squared away.  What a colossal waste of my time!

I want to use an old 3 GS iPhone that is no longer in service as a phone now as just an iPod to play music. When I connect the phone to the computer with iTunes running, iTunes says it can't connect to the device because it didn't get a valid response from the device. How can I get the system to recognize the phone, and let me rename it as my iPod, instead of my phone?
As an aside, the current installed operating system on this old iPhone is 4.2.1, but that wasn't one of the selectable options in the operating system list dropdown below. Don't know if that makes any difference.

Just wondering if anyone has a problem with accessing iTunes store. have iTunes installed but can't bring up the store home page?

i have the same problem! Safari won't work either. Can anyone help please? I have completely restored my computer trying to fix this and it still won't work! I have a 2 month old alienware laptop running windows 7

  • HT2731 I have been trying to update my ipod and it keeps saying can't connect to the store but I'm able to purchase apps from the store. Which I did right after it said that???

I don't know what's going on with my ipod it keeps saying can't connect to store when I try to download updates but I can still buy apps from the store???

Make sure your system time & date is set properly. If it is not, then move it backwards 2 months, then try to connect to the store. Good chance it will work then.
    Change it back after again.

  • Updated to iTunes 7.6 and now i can't connect to the store

I getting an error message saying it timed out. This happened when i first downloaded iTunes 7.5 on my new Vista running computer a month ago but i fixed it by going into Norton and putting iTunes to allow. I went to go do the same thign because maybe it reset but it is still on allow. Can someone please help me.

I posted this in another thread, but read the bottom paragraph.....Even though Norton says allow for iTunes, my was still blocked as well. It's running fine now though since I've cleared out the programs list and rules tab and started over. Norton sets a no TCP rule I couldn't figure out so I cleared them all out.
I disabled only the personal firewall in Norton Internet Security and it connected straight away. When I found out this worked, I tried just allowing the four apple programs the personal firewall monitors and no joy. I will find which program is being blocked, but disabling the entire personal fire wall will work.
BTW, in my case I was getting the connection timed out but the iTunes diagnostics said the connection was fine but never connected to the store successfully
Some how Norton Internet Security set itself to block outbound TCP connections during the upgrade, even though iTunes was still set to allow all connections in and out. I couldn't figure out which rule to change. To get the firewall running again, I had to use the reset botton (in Norton Internet Security) to clear out all the rules and programs and then manually add iTunes with allow all privileges to the program list. CAUTION: until Norton repopulates privileges for other programs, you may need to add them manually.....this includes Internet Explorer or any other browser you may use.

  • ITunes can't connect to the store

Hi everyone! It's since a couple of weeks ago that I have trouble connecting to the iTunes Store from my iTunes. I had the latest version of iTunes 10, and it worked all just fine. Then all of a sudden one day, for no evident reason, it says it can't connect to iTunes Store, because the internet connection isn't active, but in fact the connection works! Also, I can't access my account from iTunes, but I can listen to radio stations!! And when I run the Diagnostics for the network connection, I get only the third dot red, where it says it failed the "safe connection to iTunes Store".
So I make a test, I try to connect to iTunes Store from my iPod Touch, using the very same internet wi-fi connection I use for my pc. And guess what? It works perfectly! This makes me think the trouble is in my computer then. So I check the guide and I update my OS (Windows XP 32 bit, with SP3), with no results.
I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, with no results. The last thing I tried was the downgrade to iTunes 9, with the only difference that now when I run the Network Diagnostics, it gives me all the green dots, but still iTunes won't connect to the store!
I really don't know what to do anymore... If someone could please help me, I would be very grateful! Thank you very much in advance for your attention.
    Cesco87xxx

  • ITunes can not connect to the store in Windows 8.1

Since i have upgraded to windows 8.1 itnues on acer keeps giving the message that it can not connect to itune store...it is not reading my ipod touch 4th gen or my ipad 3

    Hey zoyashahab,
Ok, so it sounds like there are two issues here we want to address, the first being the iTunes Store connection issue and the second being iTunes not recognizing your iOS devices.
First, I'd start with troubleshooting the recognition by following the steps in here:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
If after getting that running again, you still can't connect to the iTunes Store, then I'd go through the troubleshooting steps in here:
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1368

  • Upgraded iTunes, now I can't get on the store.

    Does anyone know why?
      Windows XP

not without some more information than that, Jamie.
here's a few things to get you started (in lieu of us having any information whatsoever about the precise nature of your your problem).
if you've got Norton Internet Security 2005, try:
iTunes cannot connect to the Music Store or Shared Music after installing Norton Internet Security
and also see the following User tip:
Scott P: Can’t connect to Music Store or CDDB
... but if no joy, post back with some more information. here's some info from section two of the Apple Discussions Use Agreement that might help with that:
State your question clearly. Include as much information as you can about your issue. At minimum, include:
The operating system you're using and its version.
The names and versions of other relevant products.
A complete description of computer and connected peripherals.
What you were doing when you ran into this issue. Example: I'm using Mac OS X 10.3.4 on a 20-inch flat panel iMac with 768 MB of RAM and 15 GB free space on my hard disk. I have an X-brand PDA connected via its USB cradle. iCal 1.5.2 unexpectedly quits when I add an event. Tip: As in the example, a good description of your computer includes how much RAM and how much free hard disk space you have.
Apple Discussions Use Agreement (revised 24 March 2005)
if you're getting an error message, also let us know what it says. include any error message numbers if you're getting any.
