After updating to Mavericks, iWork update was unsuccessful.

I updated to mavericks. An iWork update began as well. Now the App Store shows that i successfully updated, but it is incorrect. iWork did not update, but because it shows that it did, I cannot seem to do anything to rectify the situation. What can I do?

Both versions of iWorks are in my applications folder; I had been opening Pages via a link, and therefore was accessing the old version, not realizing that the new one was also available.
I hope I didn’t waste anyone’s time.

What happened was you never accepted these apps into your Mac App Store account.
Drag & drop the apps in the Trash and use OS X Recovery to install them again. after installing the apps be sure to accept them into your account this time from the Purchases pane of the Mac App Store.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)

I had this problem post 6.1. Not sure if it was a coincidence, but I'd just recently changed my password after being convinced I'd been hacked, due to being told I was entering my password wrongly, repeatedly by iCloud / iTunes. It turns out my iCloud account on my Settings -> Mail, Contacts and Calendars was listed as Inactive. Putting in my details, turning off Contacts over iCloud (thus deleting them) and turning them back on again, repopulated my contacts from iCloud with numbers attached to them.

Keep getting notification to update to 10.1 MR after update was done

this is more of a nuance than a big problem. I updated my Q10 to the latest 10.1 MR (10.1.0.4181) but keep getting a notification in the hub to update. I am ignoring it but it keeps coming back. Any idea why or how to get rid of it?

It appears your issue could be related to the deletion of the Rogers applications. Please follow the below steps in order to help confirm the issue you are having.
1. Check for updates (Settings > Software Updates > Check for Updates) or open the Software Update notification in the BlackBerry Hub, and note the version number.
2. Minimize the update window by swiping up from the bottom bezel.
3. On the home screen, swipe down from the top bezel.
4. Select Settings > About.
5. Choose OS from the Category drop-down.
6. Note the Software Release number.
7. If the version numbers from Step 1 and Step 6 match, the update may only be intended to install deleted applications and can be ignored. If the numbers differ, please proceed with the update.

IPod Not Recognized by PC After Update 2006-03-23

This is so frustrating- I was having sync lapses with iTunes, and the PC would "freeze" with the iPod connected to it, before Updater 2006-03-23 was run. After Updater was run, now the PC does not recognize the iPod at all. In fact, Updater 2006-03-23 does not even recognize the iPod. (It always asks to connect my iPod or says "Cannot mount iPod.") After updating, Firefox won't connect to the internet. All websites timeout. Internet explorer works fine.

I started up my computer and opened up firefox. A box popped up that said firefox was updating. After updating was complete, firefox attempted to connect to my homepage, yahoo, but the connection timed out. I tried connecting to other websites and they also timed out. My internet connection is good because internet explorer works fine.

Common cause after upgrading/updating is that your security software (firewall) may not recognize the new version and may be blocking Firefox and/or plugin-container. Remove all permissions for Firefox and plugin-container from your firewall's programs permissions list, then start Firefox and go to any website and let it detect and set internet access permissions.

Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain directly connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB, not a cradle):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
Remove the battery
Wait 15 minutes
Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs. If it fails, please try again but increase the wait time in step 4 to 2 hours, and perhaps as long as 4-5 hours.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Note carefully please that "new" and "know good" are not necessarily the same things. While rare, a "new" battery certainly could be defective. Rather, the simplest (and least costly, btw) method to conduct this test is to find someone with an identical BB who has no issues...trade batteries and see what happens.
It is also possible that the OS update was somehow corrupt. Due to the number of problems with "upgrading" to this OS level, I suggest you try the very clean and very forceful AutoLoader OS Reload:

Beware that it is completely destructive...the device will be "like new"...no data, no apps, no accounts, etc. Be sure you take a full backup first, as well as make full manual documentation of all apps, accounts, configurations, etc. Sometimes a restore reintroduces the very corruption one is trying to eliminate, and manual reconfiguration is necessary.
You can also use this to fall back to a prior OS if you desire...you can install any OS level for which you can find an AutoLoader. (Hint...search over on the CB site!)

Why does my Apple TV take 3 hours to update, only to tell me, "The update was not successful?"

My Apple TV takes forever to update, an then tells me "The update was unsuccessful." What can I do? It's connected to my network via Ethernet.

Slow Internet connection is one possibility.

I had access to Revel and when I started the update, I received a message that the update was unavailable. Then I no longer had access to my previous icon or pictures.

Satellite A350-12J BIOS Faliure after update.

Hi everyone.
I own Toshiba Satellite A350-12J (it's PSALME series). Recently I got message in Toshiba Tempro, that said I should update my BIOS, so I decided to do it. I downloaded proprer version from Toshiba site, which was 1.5 and follow the instructions of update(I'd like to mention here, that it's not my first BIOS update). After update was done ma notebook restarted and didn't boot up again. The screen is black all the time.
When I try turn it on fan works for a few seconds and then goes down, there is some activity in USB devices and DVD but it's only for few seconds and then nothing.
Oh, almost forgot HDD works too. I've read that in the Phoenix based BIOSes there is something called Crisis Recovery, so I tried it, laptop boots up in this mode( I can tell, becasue in tis mode fan goes up to max rpm and system tries boot from USB Floppy).
I've tried Crisis Revovery in many combinations and during the process it seems like it's reflashing my BIOS( Floppy whith crisis recovery disk is read for about 2-3 minutes), but after I wait and give it time to reflash(about 10-15 minutes each time) notebook stiil doesn't boot up.
I think maybe this version of BIOS(1.5) is bad or something. Maybe Somone have original BIOS for this laptop, I'd be very thankful for such BIOS or maybe someone has any idea what's wrong whit it.

Late 2007 15" MBP Very slow after upgrading to Mavericks

The reason of this post is, as outlined in the title, slow paerformance of my computer after upgrading to Mavericks. It was kinda slow from before but this time it's almost unbearable to use it. I used to be able to run VMWare with 2 XP and 1 windows server machines WITH JUST 2 GB OF RAM! Now I have 4 GB and can barely run a single virtual machine with XP and the cooling fans come on just by watching a video on youtube, which also makes performance take a dump.

I understand it says my RAM is way too low, but hve no idea what's killing it. So far I've disabled and uninstalled all DynDNS items. I just read about Chrome's slow performance for MBP's and plan to switch back to Safari (Firefox made my computer even slower).

Thank you Kappy, while I was reviewing the log from EtreCheck I noticed the 3rd party preference panes, launchers and daemos. I deleted a few of them and it really helped with system performance. Reading your reply confirms that what I did was the right thing; here is an updated log from EtreCheck:

I was reading about GeekBench in the discusions and decided to give it a go, although I was able to only perform the 32-bit tests, I got 1268 on the single-core score and 2187 for the multi-core score; I don't know how good or bad those numbers are. Wish I had a before and after reading but I read about it too late, when I had already erased several items.
I will appreciate any further input BEFORE I decide to reinstall the OS from scratch.

Wifi problem with Mac after upgrade to Mavericks

I just upgraded to Mavericks but something wrong with my wifi.
i can get internet through LAN link from Airport but not through wifi even i can receive an IP address
i tried connect to hotspot with my iphone5s and it works.
Other devices can use wifi just fine through Airport, just not my Mac using Mavericks
In conclusion,
Airport should be fine because my other devices works.
Mac wifi should be fine too because i can connect using hotspot.

I was having problems connecting to Wifi with my Macbook Pro (!2010), after upgrading to Mavericks. I was on the phone repeateadly with AT&T because I have Uverse. Testing everything (channels, signal strength) and had techs come out to check the line, ports, switches, etc. When I hardwired the Mac into the Uverse router, it worked fine. This rulled out any problems with the line in.
I considered getting a repeater but then I read that repeaters are not really good and it is better to reconfigure a router to act as an access point on the network. Plunked down about $80 for a Belkin AC750 router at Best Buy. In the setup it has an option to set it up as an access point only. Clicked that, connected it to my Motorola NVG510 Uverse modem and then connected to the Belkin router from my Mac. Voila! It's been a solid 11+ Mbs ever since (my plan maxes at 12Mbs). Connection is still solid and life if good even though it ***** to plunk down another $80 for a second router. But it was worth it just to get rid of the headaches.
I think the wifi capabilities of the Motorola NVG510 modem are the cause of a lot of problems with AT&T Uverse issues, particularly for Mac owners. I think it was also causing my Airport Expresses to drop occasionally.... Few minutes of music then drop... music drop.... All gone now.
I don't know if you are on Uverse but if so, I highly recommend configuring a second router as an acces point (it can be any old router you still might have - the setup is just a bit trickier because you have to do it manually).
