After updating to OS X Maverick my Pages app reverted to the previous version.
After updating to OS X Maverick my Pages app reverted to the previous version (4.9) and now I can't update to the latest version (5.0) of Pages. When I check updates it says that I have the latest version (5.0) of Pages. How can i get the update app to allow me to update?
Installing the update does not change the Dock icons & it does not remove the older versions. Go to your Applications folder & launch the new Pages from there.

When I try to open video files purchased through iTunes in Quicktime, I get the message: 'Error 23132: an unknown error occurred. This never happened until I updated iTunes, but when I try to go back to the previous version, I still get the message. It is more convenient for me to play videos in Quicktime since iTunes is such a memory hog. Please help.
You may get better results if you switch to this alternate version: iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) and, if needed, reinstall QuickTime. The new (nearly) all 64-bit version doesn't seem to play well with QuickTime. Perhaps if DRM authentication is required QuickTime needs to be able to see something that is part of the older 32-bit code.

I accepted/installed an update for iMovie and it turns out that this version is not compatible with my graphics card. So now I can no longer open or use iMovie. Any ideas on how to get around this - how to revert to the previous version??
Look in your Applications folder. If your system behaved as expected, you should have an iMovie 9.0 folder in your Applications folder. Apple moved the old version there as even they suspected the new versions was a train wreck.

I decided to upgrade to OS X Mavericks not realizing I don't have enough HD space. Now I cannot do anything with the upgrade. How can I revert to the previous OS X to free up more space on the HD?
You can't. It's already downloaded and filled the drive. The only option is to erase and reinstall.
You may be able to Target Disk Mode if you can connect the Mac to another with FireWire or Thunderbolt Cables (USB will not work and it cannot be connected to a windows PC)
Do you have a Time Machine Backup?
If not best option is getting it in somewhere where they can transfer the data you need off before Erase and Reinstalling OS.
Unless there is nothing on the Machine you need anymore that is, in which case you may be able to Erase in Recovery. It May not work though, if the Disk is too full. -
Got new iTune update, instaled on my home server 2008 r2, as I had the previous versionon here. Now with the new Itunes my home sharring is not working when it use to work fine on the older version. However this works fine on my windows 7, Iam guessing the new Itune doesn't support Server ? Or is there some thing i need to do. Can Apple Help me ?

I have updated to Firefox 6.0 and Orbit Downloader Plugin is not working.
Forgot what I originally wanted to post.
Just for the record, Firefox V:8 and Orbit don't play together, either.
I would start a separate thread for that if I thought anyone would actually try to fix the problem, but it is clear Firefox is doing this on purpose, for some reason. -
The email account that I am having trouble with is [email protected] I can't open any emails or perform any other function (purge, label, discard, view, etc) I can send an email though.
This might have been helpful if it was in English and not in German. . . at least it looks like German.

I can open Firefox on startup, but once I get off of it I can't get back on until I shut down and restart. If I get on mail first, I can't get on Firefox. I can't open some attachments in the emails either unless I open the mail while Firefox is still open. And I keep getting an error message about "having to close unexpectedly" with "restore" or "open new session" options. It acts like something is still open somewhere and the computer can't open anything else.
Also, when I go from one email to the next, the previous message doesn't automaticall y close like it used to. Also, the little green bar that usually indicates some action is solid and stationary when I can't get on to Firefox.

The chat client doesn't load the option to respond in chat. I can get messages from my friends but am not allowed to type back. This only became an issue after updating my firefox browser. I tried to revert to the prior gmail (as i am testing their newer version) and that didn't resolve the issue.

Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and
after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears.
Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo).
4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

After updating to OS X Mavericks, internet USB dongles topped working. Many other users have faced the same problems. Can someone please help me out? I am unable to find online help.
Sourcing Drivers for dongles when upgrading OS is a nightmare whether its osx or windoze. It takes the likes of Huawei ages to produce new versions. I strongly recommend getting a portable wifi (mifi) which will work with any device and sits in your pocket not sticking out the usb port where it gets broken. Recommend Huawei E5756

Recently I updated to Maverick -- I also updated Numbers, Pages and Keynote. NOW, I cannot open my pages documents. I get a message that I need a newer version of Pages. I have the newest version (5.2). How do I get around this to view my documents?
You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed almost 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

The last version of Firefox that I had was the one before 3.6. I stopped upgrading due to it always messing up and not working right for me... whether it be due to vista, or just errors on your part. My husband decided to upgrade firefox to the newest one two days ago because the version I had was just "too slow!" Ever since he did that, I cannot get firefox to open. No matter how many times I uninstall it and delete everything mozilla on my computer then reinstall after restarting my computer, it just refuses to open. Every time i try it says that firefox has stopped working. It cant even check for solutions. I then try to click on the icon and I get something that says: firefox.exe - Bad Image C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.6195_none_d09154e044272b9a\MSVCP80.dll is either not designed to run n windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.
I have tried installing it over and over again several times, same message shows up. So i had clicked on the link to go download the previous version of firefox... what sucks is that the only version on the site is 3.6.27. I have never upgraded to this. So the second i installed that version, i now am able to open up firefox... BUT it is unable to connect. I have internet... a pretty bad ass connection. So my internet is not the problem. I then looked up how to fix that issue and did all 5 things listed under the Firefox cant load pages but other browsers can link. Still nada! I am now stuck using IE and going insane. I am on the verge of throwing my laptop out of the damn window because I have to wait 3 hours for google to load. Nothing is working for me... and it would be appreciated for something more. If i can get help with a ton of details on what to do or how to fix this issue... either version... i would greatly appreciate it. Where does one set space after paragraph in the new Pages 5.0? It used to be under text in the Inspector in the previous version, but I just can't find it in this new version. Paragraphs seem to only be dealt with in styles, and the Formatting window for text doesn't seem to have the space after paragraph contrtol that the older Inspector had. What am I missing?
