You're probably in the right track! Also, you raised interesting questions.
First, I didn't know we had 2 ways to configure/extend the wireless network. Although I'm not sure I understood the 2nd way, I think mine is the first option. Also, I have an old AX and I don't think I have 802.11n support, only g. I'm pretty sure that's my friend's case also, since he got the AX before me.
In any case, I'll compare the configs with him, one by one, and check if there are any differences. I'll report back the results. In the meantime, I'd really appreciate if you could explain me better the 2 option of configuring the network. Also what are the implications (if any) of having the old AX (802.11g)?

Multiple accounts in ical after upgrading to iCloud

I have upgraded my Mac to Lion and I have now moved my previous mobileme account. I have found that my iCal application on my Mac is creating multiple CalDAV accounts that duplicate my calendar entries. If I try to delete these accounts they just come back - I have counted 44 of them listed!
I cant see the same if I log into iCloud to view my Calendar there.
Please help me reset this on my Mac so I have just the one account.

OK - looks like I finally managed to delete some of them - found multiple entries on ~/library/calendars/ causing the issue
Will continue to test over the next few days.
Man, this move to iCloud to doing my head in...

IPad iCal events gone after upgrade to iCloud

I have an iphone which I upgraded to OS5 and activited iCloud. My wife has an iPad but has been using my apple ID for itunes etc. She keeps her own iCal and has not been synching it to our desktop or anything. I keep my own calendar on my iPhone and it syncs with Outlook at work. After I activated iCloud using my apple ID on her iPad, her Calendar entires are gone and my Calendar entries are now on her iPad. Is there a way to recover her entries/calendar?

Some users have reported that turning off iCloud has restored their calendar events.
Unfortunately if this does not work, your events are likely lost, and can only be recovered from a backup.

I've found some other people discussing this recently in the internet (although not as many as I thought) so it seems to be a generalized problem.
I wouldn't want to swtich back to local calendar and sync everything back but this is an annoying problem becase there's no way you can know if the invite went out or not.
Did someone find an official acknowledge of this or something like that? I'm not sure if it's something in our configuration that's causing the problem. My Apple ID email is my personal email address and my calendar used to send invites through my work account (which is the only account configured in my mac currently). I'm not sure what mechanism does iCloud use to send the invites (it didn't work in any device or even in iCloud.com itself).

Why is booting up so slow after 'upgrading' to iCloud???

I updated/upgraded to icloud. Now my macbook takes more than 5 minuts to boot up and is painfully slow to use when it does...help?

Can not publish to iweb after upgrading to icloud

I have upgrdaded my mobileme account to icloud but did not realise that iCloud does not support hosting iweb and that I will have to find a new host, But the support page tells me I can still publish any changes through mobileme until June 2012 even though I have upgraded. But I can't see how. When I press 'publish site' I get a message saying that I have upgraded to icloud. Can anyone help me!

Try this:
go to the System/MobileMe preference pane and log out of MMe.
login with a bogus username and password like "Ying" and "Yang". This clears the caches.
login with your correct username and password.
launch iWeb and try again.

HT201104 Can you sync contacts/calendar on ios 7 device after upgrading to iCloud drive?

I have an iphone 4 (ios 7, can't get 8). I don't care about accessing documents on iCloud drive with my phone.
I might want to do it with my ipad mini (ios8.1) though.
If I upgrade to iCloud drive will I still be able to sync contacts/calendar on my iphone?

I cloud drive IS not the SAME as I cloud you use for backups. I cloud drive is for moving docs, pics, etc. So if you upgrade to iCloud drive, yes you can still sync contacts, calendars, etc

After upgrading to lion Time Capsule is solid yellow

After upgrading to lion I am experiencing a lot of problems with time caspule
1. backup fail: it starts and than fails (error message and yellow warning triangle)
2. unable to connect to TC disk, neither from airport utility, nor from Finder
3. Airport Utility hangs while trying to manually modify configuration (rainbow weel).
After a lot of reboot, reset, disk rename, time capsule reconfiguration etc etc AND TC DISK REINITIALIZATION (ALLA BACKUP LOST!)
now backup seems to work and I can browse files in Time Machine
BUT
Time Capsule is a steady YELLOW and Airport utility says there is an error on disk (The disk is not working)
Can somebody help me.
This all happened after Lion installation. Not a problem before

The disk is the internal Time Capsule Disk. It's a 1Tb model.
My iMac is localized in Italian
So I write here the Italian message and a possible translation
The first error message I get opening Airport Utility is:
Utility Airport ha trovato una Time Capsule 802.11n (2.a generazione) che segnala problemi
(AirPort Utility has found a Time Capsule 802.11n (2nd generation), which indicates problems)
If I press on "Continue" I enter a page that says
"Problema 1 di 1: Il disco Time Capsule non funziona"

(There was a problem with the Time Capsule disk. Connect a USB hard drive to your Time Capsule disk and use Disk Utility Airport panel to store data and run the backup.)
While if I go to the manual settings and I select the disk,
on the disk data info I have
Stato S.M.A.R.T.: Non funziona
(S.M.A.R.T status: Not working)
As I said before, apart from that problem, everything else (time machine, backups and file recovery) looks working good (until proven otherwise eh eh)
I don't know if to worry about the disk but I find suspicious that everything just started after Lion installation.
I called the call center and they just said to return the TC for disk repair (have to pay, warranty expired).
I told them about Lion installation fact and they said it looks like a coincidence but actually it is likely that after a disk initialization or a big amount of data writing the TC disk may break (WHAT ?!?) and the Apple guy even suggested me to buy an external disk that is less expensive and give less problem than a TC !!!!
(I can agree on that now, but I was surprised to hear that from them )

Why after upgrading to iCloud does my CD drive selectively not read .pdf files but works otherwise?

I recently upgraded to OS-X 10.7.4 and icloud and after doing this my CD drive on my macbook pro no longer sees some .pdf files on my computer. The disc in question works fine on my other computers so there is not an issue with the disc. I have upgraded adobe reader as well but this made no difference. Any solutions I could try please?

What Brand/Model Optical did you install?
What do you have set in System Preferences>CDs & DVDs to open it with?
If you have Disk Utility open when you insert a CD, can it see it? Mount it? Do a Info on it?

Yes. iCloud Drive doesn't effect synced data such as calendars, contacts, notes, etc. It also has nothing to do with iCloud email accounts.

Missing iCal calendars on my Mac after upgrade to iCloud

I realise this is probably a very simple problem to those of you with a greater understanding of syncing and iCloud than I have.
I switched from MobileMe toiCloud last night. Everything seems to be working, except that all the iCal entries on my iMac have disappeared, although they appear perfectly on iCloud and on the family iPhones.
How can I get them back on the iMac, too?

And with impeccable timing, I've worked it out for myself just minutes after posting the request for help. So much for patience.
In case anyone else is having the problem, it involves starting up iCal, going to Preferences ... Accounts ... selecting iCloud in the drop-down menu that appears, and then entering your iCloud account name and password.
Simple.

After Upgrade into SP 2013 Business data from other SQL DB

Hi All, We are in process of SP upgrade from 2010 to 2013. We had a basic form in 2010 that was designed using SP Designer 2010. Now after the upgrade, we need to add few new fields (some might be drop-down lists) which will pull business data from SQL Server.
Could anyone guidelines as how to approach for this?
My findings & Thoughts: I need to BDC Service Applications (Any specific system requirements to create one in 2013?), then I need to create External Content Types. I need to add newly created external content types to my existing custom content
type(?).
Wondering if there is two way data synchronization available? Meaning say if user has drop-down available which pulls data from SQL Server, If user want to add new items in it. Would it update that field in SQL?
Any thoughts? Any reference would be appreciated.

My apple ID was created in my contacts after I log on to my icloud account. Had to browse through all my contacts to find out as I was cleaning up my contacts.

We have been working thru this error for some time and determined it is definitely an issue only with Windows platform clients for SGD.
Multiple OS clients and multiple connection types have been tested, along with multiple SGD servers.
The similarity is the same few pc/laptop clients that have the error have it no matter what.
We have found respite for a particular laptop user by the resetting of the Microsoft Windows configuration (TCPIP stack) for the applications - refer to http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B299357
Using the same laptop with a separate Linux partition has now proven the issue is purely a Windows client issue.
Furthermore clearing cookies does not resolve, nor does updating Java.
Checking the Windows firewall log for the laptop identified the firewall was blocking the TCC client communicating with the respective SGD server.
Removal of the firewall failed to resolve this (disabling Windows firewall service does not disable the firewall ...).
We are still investigating this further but can identify this is a problem with a small percentage of clients experiencing this error.
