when you bought it, did 2 versions download? For a bunch of shows I bought recently, I got 2 versions - a HD version and a standard (SD) version. To make room, I moved the files off my computer. When I wanted to watch the individual episodes on my iphone, I'd move the SD version back to the computer, and sync it with the iphone. After the recent upgrades - snow leopard, itunes 9, iphone 3.1, something got broken. When I would transfer the SD versions to my computer to sync with the iphone, for some reason something would rename the files with a (HD) tag at the end of the file name (even though they were the SD versions). Removing that tag in finder was all I needed to do to make it work. Odd.

I was having the same issue after upgrading to Lion OSX. I searched the web and found many people had the same problem but no solution so...
I called Canon and they told me to run 'Image Capture' its part of the Canon Software Suite so you should have it and then try downloading the pictures like you usually do. I use 'Image Browser' and with 'Image Capture' running in the background it works perfectly now.

Since I'd installed the new version of iTunes, iCal and Address book do not sync with my iPhone 3GS through iTunes anymore and I get an error message stating that iTunes can not sync with this iPhone. Was must i do to correct this issue?

I have an iPhone 3G. I reset the phone and now I cannot play the previews for ringtones. A message says: this device can not play tones. The iOS has to be 5 or???
Also when I go to setting, then general. I can not see the field whcih shows the operating system. It has been erased.

Suddenly purchased ringtones "can't play on this iphone"

I've had some problems in the past few months with synching my ipod to my computer and being told that songs that I've purchased from itunes, and have been playing for months or years, are now "not authorized" to play on my ipod. Now the same thing is happening with my new iphone. I got this phone--my first iphone--on Sunday and bought, on the phone, four ringtones. They worked fine, even after synching to my computer/itunes library, for a couple days, and then yesterday I started getting the message that those ringtones "were not copied" because "they cannot be played on this iphone". Frustrating! I'm hoping someone here can help....(by the way, purchases apps do work.)

Any restrictions set in Settings/General/Restrictions? If yes, try to disable them and test again.
Can you play the songs in iTunes on your computer?
Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again?

After upgrading to iOS 5, custom ringtones won't play on my iPhone 4.

Created the ringtone using what I thought was the standard method. Shortened the song to 29 seconds, create ACC version, then copied the file and chagned the extension to .m4r and moved it into iTunes where it placed it in the Ringtones folder. I then synced it to my iPhone and it shows up and lets me select it, but when someone calls nothing plays.

YIPPIEH: in another forum I found the solution for my problem:
* you need to go to settings -> Safari -> data protection & security/privacy -> block cookies
* here the setting MUST NOT BE PUT to "ALWAYS" - because then iTunes won't work. If you put the setting to "third parties" or "never" you shouldn't have problems with iTunes anymore.
Seems to be a minor bug - but a pretty annoying one...

After upgrade t0 4.0/ 4.01, can not open Amazon website

The indicator shows the site trying to but eventually says it is taking too long to load. I cleared cahce, made sure cookies were wiped and that they were accepted, etc. from the suggested fixes.
This site worked fine on 3.6x and above; when I went to 4.0 was when the problem started.

After upgrade HTMLDB 2.0, the browser can not launch MS words to view doc

I create a page with an item to hold the file id in flows_files.wwv_flow_file_objects$. and use the htmldb_util.get_file(:P14_file_id) on-load before header process to allow user to view the documents under flows_files.wwv_flow_file_objects$ table.
When we are still in HTMLDB 1.6, the window would pop-up to ask for Open, Save or Cancel. When we click open, the window would depend on the file extension to lauch the Ms Words or Excel or Acrobat reader to view the file.
After we upgrade to HTMLDB 2.0, the window won't pop-up asking for open, save or cancel. Instead, it would open another Internet Explorer to try to read the file. Since the web browser could not read the MS words or excel, all of page display strange characters. I check the httpd.conf file and mime.type in the apache, everything looks fine with me. Could anyone provide me further information on the troubleshooting...

Have you tried deleting it and then going back to App Store > Purchased and downloading it again. From there, press the cloud with downward arrow to the right of the app name. You won't be charged to download it again.

To the original question of how to sync. If you have tried the usual routes via selecting Playlists from your Device Music page. And/Or Drag and dropping a playlist onto your device and neither work, it may be that your songs are unchecked.
Right Click on a song in your playlist you are trying to sync. If the entryies at the bottom give you the option to Check selection. Then click this and repeat for all songs in that playlist. You can select all songs in a playlist by Cmd + A
If you see Uncheck Selection then this is not the cause. It must be something else.

This started happening to me on my iPhone 4. Some text messages show only the numer they came from and those same numbers do not show the contact name in my calls list, even though the contacts are saved and synced via iCloud. I have tried to save different versions of the number in the same contact, but it won't work. If I call one of the recent numbers though, the conact comes up. I have had this problem with Windows 7 and iTunes updates for some time. Each time it takes hours to solve but with the over the air upgrade to IOS6 on my iPhone and iPad, I was determined to solve and remember what I did, So here it is:

I was going to suggest - Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings, but if you are restoring to factory settings, that should restore the settings back to factory defaults. But if you are restoring from a backup, after restoring to factory settings, try resetting all of the settings and see if that fixes it.
It might be something in your backup.

Backing up your phone isn't really relevant. You can download items you've already purchased (from the iTunes Store on your Mac) to your phone. If you have items you didn't purchase, e.g. ripped CDs, you would have to subscribe to 'iTunes Match' ($24.99 p.a.) to be able to do the same thing with them.
