After upgrade to 10.6.5 cannot connect to a port
Let me apologise upfront - I don't speak the Apple language but need some help. I have upgraded to 10.6.5 (tried update and then also combo). I need to access my work e-mail remotely. This was not a problem before upgrade. It accesses via a port on the work server. I get to the stage of having to enter my password, which the system now says it does not recognise. I have ruled out internet provider. I connect via a speedstick modem with sim card. I can access the work mail no problem on my PC laptop as usual. It worked perfectly prior to upgrade. Anything I can try? Thank you.
Of all my devices, the problem is only associated with an early MBP (2006) 15". I don't have the problem with recent devices, nor with the desktops. Over the past coupla days I tried all proposed solutions, but so far nothing really persisted.
One observation I have has to do with the number of bars indicated by the AirPort display in the menu bar: its always full at 4 bars :-/ Previously, I had areas in my house where the the reception was at 1-2 bars, but not now: its a full 4-bars! This kinda brings to mind the bar-problem that was fixed by Apple after the introduction of iPhone 4.

After upgrading to ios5.0.1 cannot connect to wifi
After upgrading to ios5.0.1 iPhone can find wifi but cannot connect for more than a few seconds. Have tried turning off "enable 3G"and wifi will connect for few seconds then will lose it. After turning "enable 3G" back on it will briefly connect to wifi then drop. Have tested wifi with older iPhone which has no problems connecting. Have tried reset and reset network settings. Have also restored iPhone.

I have upgraded to safari 5.1 through auto update
After restart the safari does not connect to any server saying it cannot find them
other browsers such as Minefield work fine and the internet connection works fine
The computer is connected via airport to a router, firewall is active.
Safary 5.06 worked without any glitch
any ideas?I have the same problem but im on Lion, All my web browsers seem to work perfect but not Safari. : (

I have been having intermittent/no wireless success on the 5GHz band of my Airport Extreme. I'm on an iMac early 2008. It was working fine before upgrading to Mountain Lion. I have tried many things (deleting the wireless network, readding it, changing settings on the AirPort Extreme, deleting the 5GHz network on that and readding it, running diagnostics) but nothing has fixed it. I can switch to the 2.4GHz band and it works flawlessly. This must be a software problem since it only started happening when I upgraded the OS.

create a new location and see if that fixes your issue, If not trash Macintosh HD/Library/System Configuration

When I click on Firefox I see restore session but no options to do so....cannot get firefox to load....it just sits and tries to run but will not load....I have uninstalled Firefox several times and downloaded with NO luck...help!
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Upgraded to iOS5 and now cannot connect to iTunes Store
After upgrading to iOS 5, I cannot connect to the iTunes Store. I was having the problem at home where I was connected to my home network, and now when I'm not connected to a network.
Suggestions?This appears to be an Apple ID issue. I was forced to change my username to my email (which I had already done years ago) after searching and searching for reasons why my password all of the sudden didn't work on my iPhone. This started about 3-4 weeks ago.
So my password needed to be re-set when I tried to access my iTunes on my computer, and my iTunes balance disappeared. My username was still my email address (as it had been for years) but my gift card balance was gone and so was ownership of all my apps and music
Now, after upgrading to iOS5 my ONLY Apple ID now works with the re-set password, but it lost all of my apps. They are there, but when I go to update them through the iTunes store, I get that "cannot connect to itunes store" error message because after that weird 'update' to my Apple ID it seems to have lost all history I've had with Apple.
This is so upsetting, as I'm finding out that Apple does not allow recovery of these purchased items between these ID's. So, now I'm wondering where in the heck is my "old" apple id?? I can't sign in with my "old" info....

After upgrading to Yosemite, I lose my connect in SOAS, university of London. Overtime, it rejects me as Authentication fails in this network. Even the school technicianer cannot fix. I wonder how to downgrade or any solution? I never encounter this issue with Mavericks or the one before.
I also have the internet diagnostic report, but it is nonsense to me to read it.

After upgrading to Itunes 10.5 and connecting the IPAD. I get a following message. How do I resolve this issue. There is no other way to download itunes to ipad other than the itunes on your computer or laptop. I am a windows xp user.

To my surprise, the version is shown as 10.0.1.22. I will uninstall itunes and try loading the same again. After uninstalling do we need to delete any registry entries for Windows XP.

after upgrading to mountain lion I cannot use my HD TV as a display anymore using thunderport and HDMI , which worked before , does this mean I have to buy apple tv to mirror onto my HD TV
can it be something related to wi-fi? I have read other posts talking about loss of connection using wifi. I'm connecting my G5 through an airport express which is expanding my wifi generated from my Apple Time Capsule. It is quite difficult for me to relocate the server close to the Time Capsule and vice versa but if it works, at least that would be something. It was working with Lion about 3 months ago - showing up in Finder, etc.

Numbers is a spreadsheet program and FileMaker is a database program, so you probably can't use Numbers to open them unless you had first exported them from FileMaker in a spreadsheet-compatible format.
If you upgraded from 10.6 Snow Leopard or earlier and your old copy of FileMaker won't open anymore, it might be a PowerPC application that is not compatible with 10.7 and later. If that is the case, to work with your FileMaker files you should upgrade your copy of FileMaker to the latest version, which seems to be FileMaker 12. -
after upgrading to mountain lion, i cannot play any video at all, be it directly off a DVD, or through streaming like youtube, BBC iplayer, love film or even directly off my iTunes library. in each case, all i get is a black screen and no error message.

the settings are gone, i guess. But even worse, I cannot get the iPad2 to play Full HD thru the Apple digital AV adaptor using apps that support (and advertise this), like AVPlayer HD. This definiteley used to work before one of the last iOS upgrades. (I am now at 5.1.1). -

Since upgrading to Mountain Lion I cannot connect to my wireless router. I have 2 wireless networks in my home. One is the primary whuch all of my devices connect to. The other is for backup only. I cannot connect to the primary with my iMac but have no trouble with any of the other devices which include iphones and ipads.phones and iPads. I can however connect to the backup without a problem. I have tried upgrading the firmware of the router as well as changing the security from WEP to WPA-2, no luck. Can anyone help?

In Finder, open the Go menu, press and hold the option key, 'Library' will appear on the menu, click and scroll to Application Support, open the folder and scroll to 'AddressBook-v22.abcddb'. Click on the file and press Command-I. Towards the bottom you'll see Permissions, tell me what they are please. -
Upgraded to Maverick. Now cannot connect to wifi. All my other devices will connect. Have rest wireless hot spot switch and cable modem. Other devices still connect but MacPro does not. MacPro wireless is self assigning an IP address blocking access. It will connect if I connect to my iPhone hot spot via wifi. Any ideas?
If you follow this video you'll see how to delete your WiFi AP from the OS, this will allow you to select it again which I feel will correct your problem.
