After upgrade to 10.8.1, Internet access stops after approx. 50MB of traffic.
I upgraded to Mountain Lion, and when I started upgrading OS components and other apps, downloads would stop after about 50MB. Once this happens, all requests in internet browsers also lost internet access. If I turn Airport off and then on again, I can access the internet but the same problem occurs again once I continue other downloads.
I have other computers and they don't suffer from this problem, so I know if is not my internet provider or my wireless network.
Any ideas?
Me too! I'm also getting display problems in emails where scrambled graphics are overlaid interactive parts of emails like dates telephone numbers!

After upgrading to OS X Mavericks Time machine stops working
After upgrading to OS X Mavericks Time machine stops backing up and sometimes hangs on ,,preparing,, for o days and sometimes stops inmediatly. Report says:
Backing up to /dev/disk1s2: /Volumes/Backup/Backups.backupdb
Event store UUIDs don't match for volume: Macintosh HD
*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSRangeException', reason: '*** -[__NSArrayM objectAtIndex:]: index 0 beyond bounds for empty array'Is this a Firewire or Thunderbolt connected disk? There are know issues with that in Mavericks. If so try connecting the drive by USB as you continue.
Is it a WD drive? There appear to be issues with those drive on Mavericks.

My IMac 21.5 mid 2010's HD is going bad on it, after upgrading to mavericks it slowed way down and after it shut off and now won't come back on, I call apple support and they told me to bring it in but the nearest store is about two hours away. They said I need it to erase my hard drive but I have too many family pics on it.
would Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 2TB Serial ATA Hard Drive - 7200RPM, 64MB, SATA 6Gb/s worked on it? I could replace the internal and get an enclosure for the original until I get the pics out of it?
Please advise, it's like five years of family pics I don't wanna loose them and I am worried.
Thanks
Al FlorezA Brody,
I really apprecate your very quick respond, Its too late to back up as of now, my hard drive wont load at all so I cannot follow your instruction to back it up. Learn a hard lesson but I will from now on following your link.
Also my hard drive it is not available to do the free exchange program.
I read the OWC instruction on how to replace the drive I was just wondering if the 2TB would work on it instead of the 1 TB they offer, I specifically asked for the Seage Barracuda because I had great experiences with it on PCs.
Again, Thank you -
After upgrading my WRT160N firmware, I cant access the router at all.!!
After upgrading I cant access the router at all.!!
I just upgraded the firmware to WRT160Nv2_v2.0.03.007_US_code.bin from a download.
I had the CD ver 2.00.2 build 8 on it originally. I upgraded because the router would have the DNS problems everyone is talking about both wireless and wired. I tried the all zeros 0.0.0.0 and that did not work.
Now that I upgraded, I cant get into the box at all. I dont get the log in screen. I have reset multiple times and power cycled through. The ip I am trying to get back in is 192.168.1.1
How can I get this box to respond? Are you able to ping 192.168.1.1 from the wired computer...?
Unplug the modem from the router,hard-reset the router for 1 minute, power cycle the router...Make sure that the computer is connected to the router on the Ethernet port...Now,Click Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> Command Prompt...A black box will appear(Command Prompt)...In the Command Prompt window type ipconfig and press 'Enter'...Look for Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection IP Address , Subnet Mask and Default Gateway...
IP Address should be 192.168.1.x, Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1......If you get the above mentioned IP Address, Subnet and Gateway Address then you should ping the Gateway, type ping 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...If it gives you request timed out then disable any firewalls, security software on the computer...
If you get 4 replies then,go to start>>>run>>>and type "//192.168.1.1" and hit enter..If you are able to open the linksys setup page then, connect the modem to the router on the internet port and configure the router as per the ISP settings. -
After upgrade to 10.6.8 Internet is much slower
Hello, after upgrading to Mac OS X 10.6.8, my Internet works much slower, with all my browsers (Safari, Firefox, Chrome). I downloaded and installed the combo, and I switched IPv6 to off; both didn't work. (I have a DNS server in my list. There is enough disk space left.) Suggestions are highly appreciated.
MikeI found something that helped here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/15534126#15534126 but don't know why it helped...

After upgrading to Lion I can't access time capsule pre lion.
Last week I backedup to time capsule via cable.
I then upgraded to Lion.
After upgrading I backedup to TC again.
Now my MBP 17 can't access time capsule pre lion. So I can't see any of my last 2 years of Snow Leopard data.yikes, I had to move all my years of iPhoto folders/pix from very old iMac to a new HP laptop with PC Vista Home Premium....now finally ready and hoping to do years worth of photo albums! so I go in to these files and of course they don't open...because they're on pc.
- I am techno ignorant on all this, what can I do? Is there any way I can open these on PC or do I need to go back and reinstall on a very very very old AND slow slow slow mac? these photos were created in 199, 200, 2001 up through 2007 so through many versions of iPhoto and Mac OS. I am hoping I can retrieve them - and very worried I cannot! Would love advice and help.
- and on a separate note, any good, inexpensive iPhoto and iTunew wizard/tech support professionals out there in the Menlo Park, CA area? -

Very Strange Internet Access Behavior After upgrade to systemd
Currently I'm having very strange issues with my wireless connection. Currently, if I connect using netcfg to a wireless access point, I have the following behavior:
1. chromium can connect to any website
2. thunderbird can send/receive emails
3. curl, firefox and opera can connect to some https sites but not http (yes: https://www.facebook.com, https://bbs.archlinux.org, no: https://archlinux.org, https://github.com)
4. wget does not connect, neither does pacman -Syu
after I upgraded to systemd, I was getting errors because of groups, so I removed extra groups. Here's what I have now:
There is currently no rc.conf in /etc
$ id ambantis
uid=1000(ambantis) gid=100(users) groups=100(users)
$ id root
uid=0(root) gid=0(root) groups=0(root),1(bin),2(daemon),3(sys),4(adm),19(log),1000(wheel)
If I try to remove the wheel group, then netcfg does not allow me to connect, neither can I connect manually with wpa_supplicant and dhcpcd
Here's the output of $ systemctrl

The only error I see is with ntpd, and I believe it is because it can't access the internet connection. -
After upgrading, cannot connect to the internet an...
I start to use BT Total Broadband Option 1 last monday and until last Thursday I got notified by email that the usage had been 7GB already after just a few days (out of the 10GB limit under option 1). Then I called on Saturday to upgrade the plan to option 2 which allows 40GB limit.
On Sunday midnight the original plan was cancelled. There were no internet from then on. Then on Monday night I got a text saying the changes requested to my service are now completed. However I failed to connect to the Broadband at home. The Home Hub's broadband signal keeps red in colour.
I have called on Tuesday night to ask for help. They will be contacting me again on Friday night after checks about the line.
May I ask if anyone have come across this problem ?? Are there any ways to get connected again ? because obviously the wireless network is there but it's just that I couldn't get connected to it. I suspect it's because the change of plan makes the login details different ?? It says that on http://bthomehub.home/ => Settings/Internet I should be able to connect without typing password if I'm an existing customer. However that doesn't work. I tried thousand times and am already very frustrated.
Hope someone can help me. Thanks a lot !Hi Vinc_bath,
Thanks for the posts and welcome to the forum.
I am sorry for the problem you are facing. DS is correct, changing your BT broadband options will not disconnect your service altogether. I will need to look into this for you to see what is going on.
Can you please drop me an email to [email protected], include your BT account details and the link to this thread.
Cheers

While I can access my email webpage after upgrading to Firefox 5 I cannot access my email inbox
We have no problem accessing other web pages such as google or ebay and it is strange that we can get onto our email site but just not get into our inbox for new emails. There are no details given about the inbox contents either - it says 'undefined new mails in your inbox.'
Although the title says "Firefox 4", the page says "Firefox 4 (and above)": [http://www.adam.com.au/firefox4.php Adam Internet - Firefox 4 Webmail Fix].
Does it work? -
I have been unable to stay connected to my server since I have upgraded to Mountain Lion. I went to my local Apple Store and was able to download the latest software. I could not do that at home as the download would freeze. I brought my mac-pro notebook home and the same problem persists. While trying to match my music, iTunes fails to stay connected to the internet, the circle going round and round forever. Anyone else with the same or similar problem?
Same here (iPhone 5S). And a friend of mine has the same problem on his iPhone 5. I just installed the newest iOS update (7.1.2) and the problem persists. Although it seems to affect several people yet I can't find anything related to this on the web. If I really want deliberately to trigger the problem I just need to delete a song from the music app and the message will pop up for sure. I am also somewhat reluctant to do a full restore because frankly I expect the same outcome as the thread starter. So hopefully Apple will fix this soon. The main reason for me to buy a $ 800+ phone is to have a device that 'just works' but apparently that's long gone since iOS 7...

After upgrading to Snow Leopard no internet connection anymore
First of all thanks to all of you trying to help others with Mac related issues.
Now I have an issue: I just upgraded my iMac from Leopard 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard. The iMac is a lot faster now BUT ....... I have no connection to internet anymore. Safari, Firefox, Mail, iChat and Messenger all can not get connected to internet.
However Skype is connected to internet!!
I have a wired connection to my TC. My Mac Mini (with Leopard 10.5.8) works fine.
I am lost. I hope that there is somebody that can help me. Thanks.I have decided to take the serious measures: I have made a fresh install of Snow Leopard and restore my apps and docs from the backup. Now everything works fine. Do not know why this happened in the first place.

Internet access interrupted after last security update
Once again:
I am havin trouble with Safari. It keeps on hanging after some time. Adium and iTunes work fine. We use a LAN internet connection with proxy authorization and some restrictions (no pop3 ...) and can use the Cisco VPN client as well but that makes no difference, Safari hangs anyway. I need to restart Safari and then have between 5 minutes or 2 hours before it hangs again.Sheila, I'd try these two steps first, then maybe reapply the last update by downloading it from apple downloads instead of SW Update...

Internet access dies after short period of non use.
On my late 2008 MacPro, Yosemite. When I leave the computer for 10 or 15 minutes or so (never really timed it), upon return there is no internet activity. It resumes about two minutes after an internet request is made, either a check mail or webpage request, and I have to sit there and wait. Then it is back to normal speed as long as I continue using the internet. I check in with my machine many times in a day and this is driving me crazy. During the wait, I look at my connection and it says it is actively connected to the internet and displays an IP address. My other devices and computers sharing the same modem (both wireless and ethernet wired) never have this issue. I've switched from ethernet cable to wireless and back since I'm hooked to both and no difference. I've quit and re-opened Mail and Safari. No help. The machine just waits for a long time before activity returns again even though it says it is connected. I've checked the obvious places, but I'm stumped with this one. Thanks for any advice.
Does it happen when connected to another network?
Does it happen with other devices connected to your network?
Sounds like a network problem to me.

After upgrading to iOS 8.3 cannot access bluetooth settings
I have an 128 gb iPhone 6 and upgraded to the 8.3 update yesterday (4-8-15). Everything seems to be working fine until I wanted to connect my phone to a new vehicle through Bluetooth. Every time I select Bluetooth in the settings menu, it closes the settings screen and back to the main Utilities folder. Bluetooth still seems to be connecting to my current vehicle an other accessories but I cannot add anything new to it.
Greetings djpins2,
After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are having trouble sending messages to a group. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
