After upgrade to Itunes 7 I can no longer burn cd's that work

I used to burn cd's just fine until I upgraded to itunes 7, now no cd works in my car or any other cd player when I burn cd's with Itunes. The show up on my Mac but are not recognized in other areas. I have the lastest updates for all other software. Please advise. I wish I could go back to the old itunes I never had this trouble before. thanks
Berni

yes I have. I have tried to burn a mp3 and a regular audio cd. I used to never have a problem until the upgrade. I can play them on my mac G5 and laptop and at work on my pc computer. But when I put them in my car cd player they don
t work. I have not changed the type of cd's and they used to allways work before. How do I go back to the old version of Itunes? If this can't be fixed I think I will have to find another application to burn cd's for my car. I read here that I am not the only one with this problem.
If anyone has this solution please post. Apple?

  • HT1529 The latest version of iTunes has completely changed my ability to access my iTunes.  I can no longer burn a CD that will play on anything other than another computer.

The latest version of iTunes has completely changed the format and also why will it not allow me to burn a CD compatible with other devices?

I'm using iTunes 11.1.1 on a Mac mini running OS 10.7.5 and I burn CDs which play in this machine's external optical drive, my car, and the Pioneer audio CD players downstairs.  I typically use Verbatim recordble CDs. After selecting the playlist I want to burn, I make sure that "Audio CD" is selected - this has always been the default for me.  If this isn't working for you, I don't know what to say - but I'd suspect the drive you're using to burn CDs is getting wonky.

  • TS1702 after upgrading to ios 6 i can  no longer use the app store.

after upgrading to ios 6 i can  no longer use the app store on my iPhone, i am unable to install new apps. i chose to fill out the security questions and the problem seems to occur since then. what could be a solution to get the app store working again??

i just contacted apple support and the solution is the following!!!!!
connect the iphone to your computer  and open itunes
then click on itunes store at the left side of the screen
then click at the right top side of your itunes screen on your email address (or id that is displayed there in the black bar)
    choose log out
then go to the top of the screen with the search option in itunes where you can search in the store and choose an app that you have not yet installed.
then you get the security questions also in itunes, fill the them out and after you have done that you are asked to log in again
now when you install an app that works (it is then on your computer still)
open the app store on your iphone and choose the updates button and install the app from the cloud
now when you install new apps also from the app store on your iphone it works again!!! and you are no longer asked about the security questions
(the other option they told me (that i did not have to use)  is: go to settings/general/ all the way at the bottom of the screen choose make new settings restore networksettings and choose yes)

I can no longer find my playlists after upgrading to iTunes 11 on Windos XP Pro PC.  Are they just in a differnt place or have I lost them in the upgrade process?

I am afraid to synch my iPhone and iTouch with my PC now for fear of really losing those play lists.

  • After upgrade to iTunes 11.1.4 - no longer see/sync with iPhone 4

recently upgrade iTunes to 11.1.4 - but can no longer sync iPhone 4.  Use Windows 8.   The phone is still viewable on MS files - and can access iPhone directories (ie photos).   Other Apple devises (iPod) have not been affected -- they appear and sync fine

Hi Lyssa! Many thanks for your answer!
I had my suspicions about something like that. Apparently Apple wants to have FULL CONTROL of its users lives. I have been using Apple products since the late 80’s and I, so far, still do.
I find it a bit funny but mostly stupid that Apple has removed the syncing function between iPhone and Mac. So, even if you are a ’loyal’ Apple user, you now have to publish your whole life on iCloud if you want to copy your calendar and contacts to your OWN iPhone from your computer/vice versa, because that is what this is all about. Otherwise, you can’t sync between the iPhone and your computer, even if you are loyal to Apple, using both their laptop and their phone.
I do not want to do that and therefore I now have decided to leave the Apple platform for good. So, next time I choose a computer, a phone etc, it will not be an Apple product. Goodbye Apple!
Many thanks again, Lyssa. Have a nice day!

  • After upgrading to Snow Leopard I can no longer log in

    AT FIRST:
Initial installation went fine. Things looked operational. Even did a firmware upgrade of the Keyboard. Then I rebooted and have had probs ever since.
Got the "Unable to log into the user account <user name> at this time" ..."because an error occurred"
    DISK UTILITY:
Power-off and restart from the Snow leopard disk to check things out with disk utility.
Disk was fine, only notable unfixable thing was a "SUID file" "System/Library/CoreS"... (something) That has "been modified and will not be repaired"
I also reset passwords (to original ones, so no real change)
    NOW:
Now the problem seems to have expanded to just getting a splash screen on startup (no log-in box), needing to power off to stop things, and not getting anywhere. This has made for an interesting day.
From what I'm reading, I should mention FileVault was/is operational at the time of the OS upgrade. And this was an upgrade from Tiger (OS 10.4.11)

(According to Apple Support that product - MC210Z/A - is the right one for those who want to go from Tiger to Snow Leopard and didn't buy Leopard)
OK, another round of checking (and not being able to fix) permissions on file: "SUID System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAge nt"
Reset admin password (to same original password) within utilities. Reset then save.
reset PRAM (OptControl+P+RPower, through 2x chimes)
    power out
attempt to go in through that admin account. (Get spinning beach ball)

  • After upgrading to 10.7.2, can no longer access Keychain or SSL sites

During the iOS 5 / iPhone 4S launch, while waiting for my 3GS to be able to upgrade, I simultaneously upgraded my MacBook Pro from 10.7.1 to 10.7.2. As soon as I did so, I could no longer access SSL-specified URLs in any browser. Specifically, and most annoyingly, the login page for my work's guest wireless system. HTTP sites work, HTTPS sites do not, in other words. I should mention that 10.7.1 did not give me this behavior.
I tried a number of things: clearing out Safari preferences, network preferences, etc. and finally tracked it down to what seems to be a certificate issue. I am guessing this, because I cannot launch Keychain Access. It kicks off, and builds the menus, but then goes into a rainbow wheel and becomes unresponsive.
After a flurry of things I tried, including dumping my personal keychains (~/Library/Keychains) and system keychains (/Library/Keychains), resetting PRAM (don't know why that would work, but it's always suggested), removing WiFi from the connection methods under a new location in the Network preferences pane, re-establishing permissions on keychains (chmod 755) and changing ownership (chown -R), etc. I got it to work. And it worked for the entire day while I was at my job.
After returning home, working there for awhile on my WiFi there, and then coming back to work the next day - same problem. But the sequence of things I tried didn't work this time. So, I tried a bunch of other things, including the things I did the first time and got it to work a second time. There didn't seem to be a magic bullet - it always seemed like "Ah ha! That's the thing I need to do" and then after another cycle of going home and then coming back to work, that one thing had no effect and it was back to randomly shotgunning diagnostics and troubleshooting methods, including:
    * Running Disk Utility from Recovery mode
    * Installing a fresh copy of Lion from Recovery mode
I've watched the console, and to be honest, I may be missing something, but I can't seem to pin it down.
The main symptoms, in summary are:
    * Wake computer from sleep, and my MBP connects to my guest wireless at work
    * Safari cannot launch - it goes unresponsive after the icon bounces for a minute
    * Chrome launches, but when trying to access SSL sites (primarily the wireless login page) it gives an ERR 7: timeout.
    * If I change the https: for the login page to http: - suddenly I'm allowed to logon and get internet access. But still no SSL pages.
    * Attempting to launch Keychain Access bounces the icon, the menus build, and then the program becomes unresponsive.
Has anyone seen this behavior before? I've done a lot of searching on this, and it would seem that another group of folks have a similar issue here:
    http://forums.techarena.in/operating-systems/1435689.htm
Searching for "Keychain Access Not responding" and similar terms brings up some helpful stuff, but nothing that solves the problem.
Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hi,
I experienced similar behavior (neither Keychain Access nor Safari would start, Chrome cannot access https sites, etc.). It got fixed by following instructions in this article:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/163227/2011/10/fix_a_lion_file_opening_hang_in_m ac_os_x_10_7_2.html which I found in this thread: http://att.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=13625027#post13625027
Basically remove the ~/Library/Application Support/Ubiquity and restart. OSX will create a new one with the right permisions.
    /cheers

  • After upgrade to IOS 5 I can no longer charge iPhone 4 in car.

I upgraded my iPhone 4 to IOS 5 last night and now when I try to use my car charger it doesnt work.   Everything was working fine prior to upgrade and I have tried to reboot iPhone with no behavior changes.  It will charge using the USB charger connected to my iMac.

I dont beleive its an iOS 5 Issue - i think its hardware...
Simply because i have been running iOS 5 beta's since june and there were no issues with my iPhone 4.
When i installed the GM on my iphone 4 (which is the same build as the public release) there were no issues with charging in my vehicle.
Now, charging my iPhone 4S in my car is practically impossible.
when i plug mine in, it will display the "Plugged" symbol on the battery display but not actually charge. the battery will still decrease.
then it will randomly "disconnect" and not register that it is plugged in. then appear to be plugged in, then not, then plugged in, then not.
This will repeat over and over again without actually charging and the charger being in the socket throughout.
however yesterday i left it plugged in and my battery was 9% and after the strange plugged-in behaviour i noticed it was charging normally after about 20 mins in the car.
But when i did the same journey time today, the battery wouldnt register at all.... charging has only been successful ONCE since 14th October on the iPhone 4s
No idea whats up with it...
    anybody else?

  • I can no longer burn a CD that will play in my vehicle

Last week I had no problem compiling a playlist and burning it to CD. This week Itunes keeps burning the CD version that only allows song transfers to another computer. I have no other options. I downloaded the new version hoping it would help and it didn't. I lost most of my CD's to Katrina but luckily (or so I thought) I had most of my favorite songs in Itune. Now my whole music collection is being held hostage! Help!

After upgrading to 4.x I can no longer log into my TD Bank online account. I'm working with differente Mac computers, all intel based, with different specs. None of them can log in, except the only one which still uses Firefox 3.
The page loads well, but when being prompted to wrote my card's number and my pass, after clickin' the "submit" button, firefox immediately jumps back to any previous page I loaded before the bank's page, so I've never have a chance to log in. Hi iTunes-1,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  The error message you posted indicates a possible firmware update is needed for iTunes for Windows to work with your CD drive.
iTunes for Windows: Updating the firmware on your CD or DVD drive - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201852
Having outdated firmware can cause issues using CDs and DVDs with iTunes for Windows. Firmware is a type of software stored in a chip in hardware that can sometimes be updated.Identifying drives and firmware versions
To run CD Diagnostics, follow the steps in this document.
After following the steps to run CD Diagnostics linked above, look at section three to find out more about your optical drive(s).
Here is an example of what section three might look like:
In this example there are two drives. Drive E is a Samsung DVD-ROM drive with a model designation of SD-616 that has firmware version F000. Drive F is an NEC drive with a model designation of NR-7900A that has firmware version 1.08.Updating the firmware
If the optical drive you are using came with your computer, check with the support site for your computer for a firmware update. Typically you will need to go to the support website for the computer maker and click on a "downloads" or "updates" link, and then enter your computer model designation and operating system version to see what updates are available. Then look through the available updates for a firmware update for your optical drive. Download the updater and run it. If you need assistance applying the update, contact the maker of your computer.
If the optical drive you are using came as a separate part (was not included with a computer), check the support site for the drive maker for a firmware update. Sometimes the manufacturer is not clear in the CD Diagnostics results. In that case, you may just have to search the Internet for the drive model designation. You can usually find out who made the drive by looking through the results of such a search. Once you have identified who made your drive, go to the support website for that company. Look for a "downloads" or "updates" link, and then enter your optical drive model designation. Download the updater and run it. If you need assistance applying the update, contact the maker of the optical drive.Verifying that the firmware was updated
    Run CD Diagnostics again.
Examine the CD Diagnostics results. The firmware version for the drive should be the new version.

Also, you mentioned that you have been successful burning a CD with the Windows OS.  Make sure that you have closed all software programs that can access the CD burner so that there isn't a conflict for the drive.   Sometimes chaning the burn speed from "maximum" to 8x can also help in this situation.
I hope this information helps ...

  • After upgrading to IOS 7, I can only transfer songs to my iPhone 5 that I bought on iTunes. Cannot xfer songs I burned from CD.

After upgrading to IOS 7, I can only transfer songs to my iPhone 5 that I bought on iTunes. I cannot transfer songs I burned from CD. When I drag them to my phone in iTunes, my phone appears to be updating, but the songs don't show up there.
    I'm using IOS 7.1.2 and iTunes 11.3.0.54. WIndows 7.
    Thanks.

This has worked for many folks according to the feedback I have gotten:
Un-sync all your music to remove it from the device, then restart (hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go). Now re-sync your music.

  • After upgrading to itunes 7.3.1.3 I can't run the backup to dics anymore.

After upgradeing to itunes 7.3.1.3.1 I can not run the backup any more. Also the CD burning runs very slow.
The DVD burner run ok with other software.
After it checks for file to be backed up it kept ejecting the blank DVD and asking for a blank disc.
I have even replaced the DVD drive with drive from another computer.I also reinstalled ITUNES once-- It ran as a repair during the install.

I have used this same DVD Burner to backup my list from within iTunes before. I did this back in June just after I purchase 30 songs. I think I was running version 7.1 or 7.2 when the DVD backup worked. If not sopport then why does their diagnostics say DVD/CD Diagnostics. Even so I have the same problem on my other PC with a CD Burner. I think Apple support sound a little like Microsoft. I once had a problem with Windows NT and had to call MS support 5 times before they said their software had a defect and issued a patch.

After upgrading the itunes, I can not find my ipad when it connects to the PC
Before that, I can see an botton said my ipad. And then I can click it to operate my ipad

    Try this
Go into the control panel. Add/remove programs. Uninstall iTunes, Apple mobile device service, apple application support. Then go out and redownload and reinstall iTunes and try again.
There seems to be a glitch with a recent update and one way to overcome it is to just start over. If that doesn't work there are more in depth things you can do.

  • Can't Recognized iPod device after upgrading to iTune 7 / 7.0.1

After upgrading to iTune 7 (and later 7.0.1), my iPod Video 60G (firmware 1.2) has been having problems getting recognized by my desktop.
    Symptoms:
    - Device manager in Windows 2000 reports the device as an Unknown USB Device
    - The iPod won't get recharged nor sync'ed.
    - The "Do not disconnect" screen won't appear on the iPod.
    - Since Windows can't recognize my iPod at all, of course I won't be able to see it in iTune.
I plugged the iPod to my Dell laptop and got it recognized and recharged properly though.
After poking around for a long time, I figured that if I disable the USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller on my desktop (thru the Device Manager), I can finally get the iPod recognized properly. Problem is, now it takes forever for me to sync my iPod (USB 2.0 disabled, so I'm stuck with the slow USB 1.1)...
I noticed that after upgrading to iTune 7, the display backlight on the iPod is kept on (though dim). If I remember correctly, on older versions of iTune, the backlight is completely off. I'm suspecting whether the extra current draw required by the dim backlight is screwing up my desktop USB....
Anybody from Apple gonna look into the issue and consider turning the backlight back to off in the next release??
      Windows 2000

I have no problems on my Dell laptop... I'm having problem with my 4-year old non-brand-name desktop only.
... which is kinda abnormally 'cause normally you would expect USB 2.0 power problems on laptops only. Btw, I've got the latest drivers installed already for the chipset and Win2K etc...
What's more interesting... is the fact that on older iPod firmware, everything was running just fine... upgrade to iTunes 7.0 and boom... I'm having problems. And, it's not recognized at the Windows USB device recognition level, so I think we can isolate the problem source to the iPod firmware upgrade.
Seriously... my bet is on the extra power drain from the backlight being left on during USB connection...
Guess i'll have to stick with slow USB until Apple has a new firmware...
This latest upgrade is generating a lot of unhappy customers...... and the sad thing is, Apple did a bad job in backward compatibility and made it extremely difficult to downgrade to an older version of iTune / firmware.... Apple better get these fixed asap...
