After upgrade to OSX Mavericks my 2009 MBP keeps crashing due to kernel panic

After upgrade to OSX Mavericks my 2009 MBP keeps crashing due to kernel panic (happens every 20 minutes or so). Please help me with this, it's getting very frustrating. Have tried disk utility, there were errors (file system was corrupted), the disk utility managed to repair the disk but the crashes continue.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I deleted some of the old stuff that showed up on the report (have removed virtual box long ago but some residual files were apparently left). It didn't help though. Will remove forticlient too as a test.

After upgrading to OSX Mavericks my BT peripherals temporarily stop working

I have a MacBook Pro 2009 with 4GB Ram, my only BT peripherals are a Logitech BT keyboard and Apple Magic Mouse. After upgrading to OSX Mavericks the day of it's release the overall performance of my MacBook was increased and I was/am very happy with it. My major gripe/annoyance is that upon opening a new application BT connectivity is totally lost and I have to revert back to my MacBook's keyboard and touchpad for a few seconds before BT comes back, and when it comes back it works flawlessly until I open another app or switch between certain apps. This issue is new since the OSX Mavericks upgrade, and my hardware setup has remained unchaged from day 1. It sounds like a software issue, and I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem or has discovered a solution. I have cycled power on the machine, and have left it completely off for 24 hrs before booting it back up with the same issue. This isn't major, just annoying. The only other thing I have is with Mail and my GMail account seeming not to sync up correctly. Messeges archived on my iPhone 4S still show as unread on my Mail app even hours after the archive and both devices on the same wireless network, This never happened before the upgrade to OSX Mavericks... Thanks Barry!!! I only reset the SMC and after booting up the system, bluetooth has maintained connectivity after switching between apps, open/closing apps works just as before!!! Thanks again!!! I can't believe such a simple work around would fix such an annoying issue. BTW I didn't reset PRAM, didn't see the need to because everything works just fine now. If I could only get the Mail app to correctly sync up I'd be perfect!

I have a MacBook Pro Retina display: 15.4-inch late 2015 with OS X Mavericks install, only on second week.
Insight works on FaceTime, Skype, but yahoo program does not show insight cam in dropped down.
Now when I got my new MacBook Pro, I down loaded all new Skype (worked tested), FaceTime (Worked Tested), Yahoo (not worked)
Fix:
With the new Maverick you have to use there messager program Version 8.0 (4218). Once I add my yahoo account video works again.
It also supported AOL, AIM, Google Talk, Jabber.
Guess I miss it frist time... hope this helps...

Lost saved mail messages after upgrading to OSX Mavericks

I rencently noticed that after upgrading to OSX Mavericks I have lost all of my saved messages from before that date, messages mainly from my gmail account that is syncing with Mail. I have also noticed that the same messages are now missing when I log into Gmail and look for them there.

I also use IMAP and the "folders" I create in the Mail App are actually created on the IMAP server.
My Mail side bar looks like this:-
Between the INboxes and the Google folders are the Smart Mailboxes (Today) and the On My Mac line which is current closed/hidden.
I have a bunch more folder that are On My Mac in here.
I went the Google Mail Web page the other day and was informed that there was a New Inbox.
I also received an email about it.
It appeared to happen just as I logged in to Google.
I not sure it this was coincidence or the trigger.

Printer problem after upgrade to OSX Mavericks

Help!! My Canon MX310 printer no longer works after I upgraded to OSX Mavericks. Does anyone else out there have the same problem or point me to a potential solution? Thanks

First and probably the most important is go up to your Black Apple uuper left and do the Software Update. Double check that your plugged in to the USB port on your Mac. Restart the Mac and you should be good to go. Iwould also go to Canons web site and make sure there are any New Drivers for Mavericks.

IPhoto quits after upgrade to OSX Mavericks

I have a macbook pro & I have recently upgraded to OSX Mavericks & installed all the latest updates.
My problem is with iPhoto unexpectantly quitting after selecting slideshow to view an album. I set the transitions ,music etc then click play, then it quits.
I have created a slideshow then again selected transitions, music etc, clicked play & iPhoto quits again.
Perhaps there is something I am missing in the new upgrade, just can't see what.
Can anyone help please.

As a test launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it?
If the problem goes away in the new library you'll need to fix your current library.
Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

After upgrading to OSX 10.9 Mail App quits when try to open my Mail messages. I have a MS Exchange account. I have removed account and installed it again. All messages where downloaded normally but when I just click on a mail the app quits :/

The option key... I've been holding down the command key... No wonder that didn't work. I should really be writing this stuff down!.
Regardless, Downloading and reinstalling iTunes did the trick.

Major iTunes library issues after upgrading to OSX Mavericks...

I recently upgraded iTunes and OSX Mavericks on my MacBook Pro and it appears to have played haywire with my iTunes library. I've lost almost half of the songs in most albums. The missing songs now show up with an exclamation point next to them and if i try to play them iTunes prompts me to locate them manually.
I have iTunes match but it's not clear how to restore prior purchases - in the iTunes store my albums just show up as 'purchased'.
For the stuff i burned from CDs years ago I assume my only option is to restore from an old backup.
Can anyone help?

ITunes won't open after upgrading to OSX Mavericks

I've just upgraded to Mavericks on my Macbook Pro and after completing the installation iTunes 11.1.2 will not open any more. When I try to open iTunes the software name shows in the upper right corner as normal, but a blank box with an "ok" button pops up (See attached screenshot). When ok is clicked it shuts down anything iTunes related. This happens even if you click on a song to play. If you click on the song description window play icon the song plays, but still no iTunes.
I've tried deleting iTunes, but but get another popup stating iTunes is a OSX requirement. I'm now in the process of downloading iTunes to see if it'll install and possibly "repair" and will update if that solves the problem.
Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

After upgrading to OSX Mavericks, my Contacts app on my desktop not syncing with iCloud and changes I make on my iDevices are not being updated through system.

In the desktop Contacts apps, there is an error icon always present (since the upgrade) in the upper left hand quadrant of the app window. When I click on it I get an error msg. See Screen grab below.

"On my phone" by definition doesn't sync. You need to move it to an iCloud group. Unfortunately, the Contacts app on the iPhone doesn't have this capability. There are 3rd party apps that let you move contacts from one group to another. Speed Names is a good choice, and inexpensive.

Spectrasonics Trilian won't start/work after upgrading to OSX Mavericks using Logic Pro 9.1.8

Anyone has a clue why this happens or how to fix it? Is it just that Spectrasonics hasn't released a software update for Mavericks yet or could it be something else?

Check the AU manager to make sure it correctly validated. If not then select it and manually rescan and re validate...
