After upgrading, cannot connect to the internet an...

I start to use BT Total Broadband Option 1 last monday and until last Thursday I got notified by email that the usage had been 7GB already after just a few days (out of the 10GB limit under option 1). Then I called on Saturday to upgrade the plan to option 2 which allows 40GB limit.
On Sunday midnight the original plan was cancelled. There were no internet from then on. Then on Monday night I got a text saying the changes requested to my service are now completed. However I failed to connect to the Broadband at home. The Home Hub's broadband signal keeps red in colour.
I have called on Tuesday night to ask for help. They will be contacting me again on Friday night after checks about the line.
May I ask if anyone have come across this problem ?? Are there any ways to get connected again ? because obviously the wireless network is there but it's just that I couldn't get connected to it. I suspect it's because the change of plan makes the login details different ?? It says that on http://bthomehub.home/ => Settings/Internet I should be able to connect without typing password if I'm an existing customer. However that doesn't work. I tried thousand times and am already very frustrated.
Hope someone can help me. Thanks a lot !

Hi Vinc_bath,
Thanks for the posts and welcome to the forum.
I am sorry for the problem you are facing.  DS is correct, changing your BT broadband options will not disconnect your service altogether.  I will need to look into this for you to see what is going on.
Can you please drop me an email to [email protected], include your BT account details and the link to this thread.
Cheers

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • After iOS 8.02 download, my iPhone 5s cannot connect to the internet.

After downloading iOS 8.02, my iPhone 5s cannot connect to the internet.  What should I do to try to resolve this?

I'm having the same issue! Downloaded iOS 8.02 to iPhone 5 and no 3G internet connection! Spent 3 hours on a Saturday trying to get internet connectivity. Talked to Apple tech support and my service provider. This is the worst operating system ever! Do not upgrade to it. I will never upgrade to a new operating system on my iPhone again. May just start buying Samsung now.

  • I cannot connect to the Internet after installation of Windows Vista Ultimate edition.

I cannot connect to the Internet after installation of Windows Vista Ultimate edition. For some odd reason, it seems my ethernet has not yet been installed to my operating system and I do not know how to do that even with the internet, I have the LAN cable hooked up to my computer but I do not know exactly what to do about it. Is there some sort of driver I need to install, or what? How do I do that without the internet?
This operating system is on a separate partition to my other operating system that is connected to internet already (Windows Vista Premium) that I do not wish to use anymore because of it's corruption. I tell you this because you may know a way of finding the driver files on my previous operating system that I may be able to transfer to the other.

  • Your Apple TV is connected to your wi fi network but cannot connect to the internet.  Airplay logo not available on ipad3, iPod touch3g and showing intermittently in iTunes on windows laptop.  Switched ISP a few days ago.  Entered pass key info on all.

I switched ISP a few days ago and had problems with airplay since.  After restarting and reinstalling and updating, re entering pass keys for new wi fi on everything,  Apple TV shows:  Your Apple TV is connected to your wi fi network but cannot connect to the Internet.  Ipad3 and iPod touch 3G have no airplay icon or get one briefly then it disappears again.  Same with itunes on windows laptop.
    Can anyone help?
    Bob

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

  • I have downloaded the new update for Firefox 3.6 and now cannot connect to the internet. I've checked my firewall and have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox, but nothing works.

After installing the new update for Firefox 3.6, no matter what I do, I cannot connect to the internet using Firefox. I can get on the internet using my other browsers (Google Chrome and Internet Explorer), so Firefox is the only one that doesn't work. I have already checked my firewall and have added and removed Firefox from my firewall to no avail. I've also already uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, but so far it hasn't helped.

I have already tried removing firefox from my firewall. Even when I do that, my firewall doesn't detect firefox and prompt me to add it. And when I manually add it, it still doesn't work anyways. I've already tried the link as well, but it has been unhelpful. :/
I'm not sure if it matters, but a few weeks before this, I did download Microsoft Security Essentials.

  • Where is the "I cannot connect to the Internet" button?

Apparently, according to this page here you should be able to maually activate on a compnuter that can't connect to the internet?  Where do you do so on InDesign CS6?

So just for fun I decided to see what would happen if I shut down my network card and tried an install. Turns out I was able to force the links to appear. Here's how I did it:
    Installed Production Premium as trial.
    Disabled my network adapter.
Ran the Installer again, it accepted my License Key, completed.
    Launched Photoshop
Got a message that Internet was required for activation with a link "Having trouble connecting to the Internet?"
Clicked that link and got a second page for with the "This Computer cannot connect to the Internet" link
Lead to a third page with an Offline Activation button
This generated the request code, which I was able to use to get a response code and successfully activate Production Premium.
I attempted the same process to install Indesign and unfortunately no matter how many times I attempted it each time I got a message that the response code was invalid. So half way there with some of my upgrades.
It seems the key is to shut down the network altogether. If the activator detecs any kind of connection, it won;t give you the offline prompts. Hope this helps some others.
Adobe: please explain why you do not document this, but make bone-headed reccomendations like "disable the authentication proxy"? (like anyone working behind an authentication proxy has the authority to disable it!) Why did I spend an hour with a tech support rep digging around my system, when I clearly stated upfront that your tools could not navigate our security and that our security was absolute, inflexible and would not change? The rep should have told me in the first minute of the chat that I need to completely disable my network connection and install again.
I mean seriously this is four days invested in just trying to install legally licensed software and I am not done yet as InDesign hasn't activated yet.

  • Bonjour / "Cannot connect to the internet" - Adobe Clueless!!!

Since we have upgraded to win7 I have one problem that keeps popping up. When windows is restarted the NIC "Cannot connect to the internet". Easy fix, disable and enable the nic all is well, except it must be done every time win is started.
I have spent hours googling and trying to repair this.
Finally have determined it is ADOBE once again!
They install some CRapple software called Bonjour as a service.
However adobe is not smart enough to install it properly, they call it:
    ##Id_String2.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B879762##
Hmmm now that I think about it, in XP it is probably the called running process with NO NAME!
They do not ask to install it, they provide no way to uninstall it.
But on each of our machines stopping and disabling this service and deleting the Bonjour folder and like magic...
Network now connects automatically to the internet.
How much are we paying adobe to pull these moron stunts on us?
How much did the troubleshooting of this adobe bonehead stunt cost us (and I assume many others)!!!
They have made Reader a liitle less viral, but it is still a real pain as a plugin and often times it just hangs for no reason.
And this new (arm?) plugin used for the cool image display that google used to ruin their product...and crash browsers...
I just KNOW it is more adobe moronism...
Sure hope google listens and maybe MOZ will ban adobe for being so clueless!!!!
The funny thing is Bonjour is referred to as " zero-configuration networking" ;-) LMAO

Not long ago Adobe retired at least some of the servers that were involved in supporting Photoshop CS2.  I don't know whether that may be the root cause of what you're seeing, but I suspect it might be.  They have provided a "standalone" version of Photoshop CS2, complete with all updates, for folks who have Photoshop CS2 licenses:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.htm l
Since Adobe is no longer releasing updates for old versions, such as CS2, it's prudent to disable the software that runs in the background incessantly checking for updates that will never come.  This will free up resources on your system for real work.  Experience has shown it's possible to disable nearly all the software installed by Adobe to run in the background and still run Photoshop quite successfully.
I recommend downloading a free program published by a Microsoft employee called Autoruns for reviewing all the software (not just Adobe) that you have starting and running on your Windows system.  Such software is the prime reason Windows systems seem to "bog down" over time.  The Autoruns program allows you to disable particular modules you determine you don't need simply by clearing a checkbox, and it retains the information that you have done so by keeping the program in the list, just unchecked.

  • HELP!!!!! I Cannot Connect to the Internet!!!!!!

I just connected my WRT54G router to my modem and hard wired my computer to port 1 on the back of the router............I cannot connect to the internet, but can connect to the router using 192.168.1.1. I am on a DSL connection. Any suggestions????           THANKS!!!!

If  you were able to access the router's set-up page using the default gateway 192.168.1.1 with the modem already connected to the internet port of the router, it means that the default of the modem does not conflict with that of the router. if you cant go online, check the status tab and check for IP address. If you got values/numbers there, it should get you online. if not, if they are all 0.0.0.0, it means that you were still not able to establish connection with both devices.
try to connect your modem straight to the computer, if you cannot go online (since you have DSL connection), try to remember if your ISP gave you a username and password. Your modem is set to full bridged so in order for the router to work with the modem, set the Internet Connection type to " PPPoE" (you can see this under Set-Up tab).. and try to check if you can have IP address.
Or if there's no user name and password from ISP. configure first the router without connecting the modem. then change the router's IP address. then connect the router and configure. it should work now. just configure the wireless settings later after you are sure that you are online directly with the router.

How to restart base station from airport utility? I used to be able to do it remotely
I currently use a Mac Pro 10.8.4 and have a time machine for wireless 6.3 (630.34). Sometimes I cannot connect to the internet and use network preferences to diagnose the issue. This results in being told to restart the wireless. The airport utility includes the drop down option of restarting but is not clickable so I can't choose it.
With my prior macbook and same time capsule, etc  if i had problems connecting to the internet I would run network diagnostics to help out. This included clicking on the airport utility ---> base station --> restart. This worked most of the time.
Bottom line, is there something I am missing in not being able to restart the wi-fi remotely? ]
    Thanks in advance

You are likely forgetting a step.
    Open AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Capsule icon
Click Edit in the small window that appears
Now click the Base Station menu.....top of the screen....not the Base Station "tab" in the center of the screen
    Click Restart

then it asked me for my wifi password again, which I put in
I then tried to access the internet on safari, and through various other apps, I get the error message, "cannot connect to the internet"
I tried syncing it again this evening, and still nothing
I am not sure what to do....

    Have your:
    - Reset your iPad:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset network settings:
    Settings>General>Reset Network Settings
    - Powering off and then back on your iPad.
