After upgrading my iPad 2 is slow and hot, is the a solution?

My Ipad 2 is very slow, and hot never have this....is their a solution?

I upgraded my iPad 2 to iOS 6 as soon as it was available, and, since the upgrade, I've noticed a significant increase in the rate of battery drain. I charged my iPad overnight last night, and it was 100% charged when I started using it this morning. I made sure that Location Service and Bluetooth radio were off. I used it to web browse, compose an email, and read a PDF document. I used it for about four hours continuously, and the battery was down to 50%. That is draining the battery much faster than before the OS upgrade. Unfortunately, I did not backup the iPad before upgrading. I did the upgrade over WiFi. The PC on which I have iTunes died, and I don't have a replacement machine on which to back it up yet. If I had a good backup, I'd restore it and forget about this upgrade until there's a fix for the battery problem, if there ever is one. I'm glad I waited to upgrade my iPhone 4S. I rely on it more and don't want to deal with rapid battery drain on it. I upgraded to the iPhone 4S from the 3GS. My 3GS was rendered almost useless when I upgraded to iOS 5 when it came out and caused rapid battery drain on the phone, which Apple never fixed. Also the performance of the 3GS with iOS5 was so slow I could hardly stand using it for anything. That experience led to my decision to wait on upgrading my 4S to iOS 6. It's unfortunate that such a great family of products is plagued with this battery drain problem, and with all their resources, Apple cannot or will not fix the problem. As far as I know, they have not even acknowledged a battery drain problem with iOS 6. To me, the battery drain problem is much worse than the problems with the mapping software that Apple is using to replace Google Maps in iOS 6. Rather than apologizing, I would like for Apple to acknowledge the battery drain problem and fix it.

Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

Firefox is slow and I tried the big solutions to no avail

Hello, about a week ago, out of nowhere, Firefox began to load many webpages very slowly (not all, but many). Especially yahoo/google/gmail and the like.
I didn't do anything to cause that (no new add-ons). I refreshed/reset firefox, I even deleted it and reinstalled it. Nothing. It is still extremely slow when IE and Chrome load the same pages at the same time almost instantly on my extremely fast internet.
I'm about to give up on this browser if it keeps doing this.
Any other advice?

Here are the steps I though I took this morning:
Backup iPad
Connect to iTunes and downlaod newest version of iTunes and then newest iOS
restart Vista Laptop
upgrade to newest iOS
I knew somethign was wrong when it took about 6 hours to upgrade the iPad
at the end it errored with this message error (-50), but the upgrade worked
I was expecting to see all my photos but didn't see them
I have tried a restore to a back up 2 times. The first time took 3 hours and just sort of timed out - it kept saying that there was an hour to go
I tried it again 2 hours ago and same message.
They are very valuable to me and so now I am panicking

Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. To my surprise, the version is shown as 10.0.1.22. I will uninstall itunes and try loading the same again. After uninstalling do we need to delete any registry entries for Windows XP.

After upgrading my iPad Air with IOS 7.06, I could no longer connect to the internet.
I have 2 MacBooks Air, 1 ipad mini and one iPhone 4S running on the same network, and they are all connected to the net and function well.
So I cleaned up the ipad completely, installed the latest firmware and reinstalled my apps : no connection.
I tried all things of resets and forgets. No result.
I have been fondling with my Airport Extreme 5 , but that did not help much.
This morning I went to a neighbor , hooked my ipad air on his network, typed the password and the thing all worked fine.
I have tried to connect the ipad air as an ethernet client, but that did not work. „Not enough power“ was the statement
Ideas anyone ?

Yes I tried this manyfold. But did not work. Reading on, I took Tesserac's advice. Shut down router and computer.
Start router after 15 minutes and wait another 10 minutes before starting the computer.
Et voila.... everything is back in working order,

They said I need it to erase my hard drive but I have too many family pics on it.
would Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 2TB Serial ATA Hard Drive - 7200RPM, 64MB, SATA 6Gb/s worked on it? I could replace the internal and get an enclosure for the original until I get the pics out of it?
Please advise, it's like five years of family pics I don't wanna loose them and I am worried.

I really apprecate your very quick respond, Its too late to back up as of now, my hard drive wont load at all so I cannot follow your instruction to back it up. Learn a hard lesson but I will from now on following your link.
Also my hard drive it is not available to do the free exchange program.
I read the OWC instruction on how to replace the drive I was just wondering if the 2TB would work on it instead of the 1 TB they offer, I specifically asked for the Seage Barracuda because I had great experiences with it on PCs.

Resolving issues
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge until your device turns on. This could take between 10 and 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue persists, please contact Apple Support.

IPad 2 and iPad Mini Slow and Buggy after iOS8 "Fix"

After living with an EXCEPTIONALLY slow and buggy iPad Mini (1st gen, still available from Apple Store, BTW) since iOS8 was released, I discovered something...
Deleting the Facebook App and the Facebook Messenger App - AND THEN REBOOTING THE iPAD - makes a DRAMATIC difference in performance of the entire iPad...
Once deleted and rebooted, you'll be able to:
1. Cut, copy and paste work again
2. Say goodbye to those long periods waiting for apps to load, crash and reload
3. Run faster and much more reliably
I have NO idea why FB and iOS 8 on older devices is a problem at the system level, but I have found that it DEFINITELY is. All it takes is running FB once on a freshly booted iPad and the problems begin.
I deleted those after trying every fix every person on the discussion board suggested (settings, resetting networks, etc) and it's been several days of an iPad running the way it did under iOS7.
SO...don't shoot the messenger. While this isn't a permanent 'fix', it DOES fix the iPad/iOS8 problems except for the fact that you'll need to use FB from Safari or a browser until they sort it out.
Again, these are my findings. I'd love to see if others experience the same thing... If this doesn't work for you, you can always reinstall FB.

I too am having a similar issue though most of it is with browsing on Safari. That is the load speed of pages became 1990s dailup slow. I believe it has to do with memory, or lack thereof. Something in iOS8 is chugging the system and slowing everything down. I don't know of any solutions. Very frustrating.

Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID: > View Apple ID > Country/Region.
You must have a verified billing address & be located in the country whose store you are trying to use.

Do you have a toggle switch on the side of your ipad, next to the volume? If so, try that.......it took awhile for me to find that answer by googling.......hope it works for you.
