I have read a number of other threads regarding the loss of Messages, however, I am not aware of the reason it is happening. Check on the right side of this message under more like this and see if you can find an answer.
As to your question about downgrading software, there is no Apple supported method for downgrading software.

That depends on why it won't open. Most of the time it means the file is corrupted and unlikely to be recovered. If you saved it right after adding or copying a LOT of layers - then it might just be the layer limit and we can attempt to recover it.

For your iCloud backup, you may have an app that is preventing the backup from succeeding. To locate which one, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll) and try backing up again. If it succeeds, then the camera roll and/or one of your apps is preventing the backup and you'll have to located by process of elimination. Turn the camera roll On and try backing up again. If it succeeds, turn some of your apps to On and try backing up again. If it succeeds again, turn some more apps to On then try again; repeat this process until it fails. Eventually you'll be able to locate the problem app and exclude it from your backup.
If you turned iCloud backup off and try to sync to create a backup on your computer and got a "waiting for sync to start" error, it may be caused by a corrupt backup on your computer. You could try deleting your last backup by opeing iTunes and going to Preferences>Devices, clicking on your last backup and clicking Delete Backup. Then try again. -

You should be syncing your contacts with an app on your computer or cloud service (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc), and not relying on a backup. If you haven't been doing this, start now and then restore your old backup. You will then be able to sync the new contacts back into the phone. However, you will lose all messages, etc newer thant the backup.

You've moved stuff around so the tabs are at the top instead of my tool bar. I no longer have the means then to copy and paste, print, etc. when I pull up information I might want to keep from a web page. When I downloaded Version 4 a message came across from Firefox that the newer version is not compatible with the Yahoo toolbar. How then do I operate these functions? Since I updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 7 every day when I put my iPhone in charge and it starts my backup in my iCloud account, it request me to verify my Apple ID password.
Every day I have to put my password to make the backup start.
I have enough space on my account to make the backup.
I have an iPad 4, updated to iOS 7 too, but with it I don't have the same issue when backing up in the iCloud.
I'm only experiencing this issue with the iPhone.
I already tried to restore complitely my iPhone and turned off and on again iCloud.

RegardsAn update - it was just taking too long to copy all the data again to the phone so I stopped the copy. Then I was able to complete the setup of the phone and most of the data was there -- just not the music I had selected. Not a problem, at least I can make calls.
Next step will be to update the phone again (when I've sufficiently recovered from my annoyance) and add the music I want.
Otherwise, I'm okay with the interface. No big problems. -
When using Firefox to print most documents ( boarding passes, mastercard statements,genealogy documents) the printing only shows on 1/4 of the page, is in the lower left quarter and does not print part of the right side of the information. When I go into Safari and print the same documents within 2 minutes they always print fine. We like Firefox and would prefer to continue to use but if we can't print we will have to use Safari more often
I have the same problem with cutting of the page since installing the new version. If you manually zoom out the print it only shows 1/4 of the page on a whole page of paper. Something is wrong here.
I have done all these steps and it still does NOT print correctly!

A proprietary page I use for logging work hours is not compatible with 4.0. How can I downgrade?
I use a work-hour logging site called "Infowit" to account for my time on the job. After downloading 4.0, I can no longer log in at the site. It tells me that my browser is not compatible with it.
As a result, I want to go back to the older version I was using before. How do I do this?

The app "remote" is not working with itunes - please help!
I click the add library button and it shows me the code - as soon as it shows me the code I see the icon for the ipad in my itunes window. i type in the code, but it's not working ... it beeps after about 10 seconds and then the same window is displayed saying "please enter the passcode"
From my understanding, I thought an app with a + sign meant that it is optimized for ipad and/or iphone, and you pay one price, and can download on two devices. remote is NOT optimized for ipad, but it should work. It did work on my laptop, which is why I'm frustrated it won't work on my desktop --- what's even stranger is the fact that my desktop "sees" it ... it's just the code isn't working

The addons I use a lot are not compatible with Firefox 4...if I had known, I would have kept the older version....having a real hard time getting the old one back....The mozilla folder in my Programs has version 1.9 listed which is crazy...I had at least version 3.5 This is getting pretty frustrating...wish I had never switched...any help would be appreciated.....
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

anyone with ideas for a possible solution?You have a phone that is locked to a specific carrier. If it worked with your carrier before the update that means that the phone was hacked or jailbroken. Updating it "undid" the jailbreak and left the phone locked to its original carrier. There is no way to resolve this, as there is no jailbreak for iOS 7 and no way to go back to the previous version of iOS.

When I use the same cable with the wall adapter it charges just fine.
LOL My situation is the opposite. plug my iPhone 3GS with USB cable and attach to mini adaptor (or whatever the small one is called) and it does not charge. Connect the same iPhone 3GS to my MacBook, using same cable, an charging takes place for iPhone. Then, connected the iPhone to the AC power with the large Apple AC adaptor and it always charges. Seems to be the small adaptor and sometimes a third party automobile adapter.
At first I thought this might be because I was using third party USB cable, but now wonder about that since there are so many problems that others are having.
Having scoured the discussions, it appears no definitive answer has been given. Am I wrong. Maybe I never found the answer to what is happening here.

I was running Firefox 5 and have been able to protect it against new versions, but now I am not being warned that there is a new version being snuck in without telling me about it.
The problem is that I work in a virtual call center from home, and the new version is creating problems I never had before.
Is there a way you can supply me with a link to FF5, and how do I protect it against new versions being installed on my machine. This is extremely important as I earn my living from the call center.
