After Upgrading to 10.8.2 I get this message when I try to open Mail:

You can't use this version of Mail with this version of Mac OS X
You have Mail version 6.1 (1498;1499). It can't be used on Mac OS X
Version 10.8.2 (Build 12C60). For more information, click the Help Button.

Use the version of Mail that's in your Applications folder, not the older one that you have inadvertently relocated, and that may be currently linked to your Mail's Dock icon.
Always keep your applications in Applications folder.
