After upgrading to Lion Logic Pro 9 is not working right
I have no idea what is going on, I was working on a project this evening, did a bunch of work as a matter of fact, I always hit save after every litte bit of work I do, it's a force of habit now.
When I go to re-open my project I get some kind of error message that Logic can't open my file. I close out of that and open project again, this time it opens but it was the project before all the work that I had recently done. Anybody have any idea what could have happened and how can I possibly restore the work that I had done.
Even since I upgraded to Lion, Logic has not been working the same, everything time I open it, it opens 2 instances of the project I'm working on, what is that about?
There are apparently a lot of problems with Logic 9 and Lion. A lot of Logic users don't go to a new system at least for several months after it comes out, or until the X.1 version comes out. I go to this site a lot for help with Logic.
www.logicprohelp.com
They are very knowledgeable and helpful. I've seen quite a few threads about Lion, but haven't read many of them, since I'm staying away for a while.

After upgrading to Lion, my Canon 7d can not be found.
After upgrading to Lion, my Canon 7d can not be found. I have used the USB connection to connect to my camera for several years with no problems, until now. I have reset the SMC, by powering off the computer and unplugging everything for approx 30 minutes. There are no new drivers available and any assistance will be appreciated.
I was having the same issue after upgrading to Lion OSX. I searched the web and found many people had the same problem but no solution so...
I called Canon and they told me to run 'Image Capture' its part of the Canon Software Suite so you should have it and then try downloading the pictures like you usually do. I use 'Image Browser' and with 'Image Capture' running in the background it works perfectly now.
Hope this helps!! -
AFTER UPGRADING TOMOUNTAIN LION SAFARI 6.0 DOESN"T WORK HOW CAN I REPLACE IT OR UPGRADE IT?
An answer will require more specific information of the problems you are experiencing Mpittas2.
In general, if you installed any third party anti-virus utilities, get rid of them. They can cause problems like this.
There is no need to post your question multiple times. If you don't get an answer right away give it some time, a few hours at least, and please deselect your caps lock key. This will increase the likelihood of receiving competent assistance.

After upgrading to Lion my internet connection doesn't work
Hey folks,
MacPro 2010, wired connection through Verizon FiOS, upgraded to Lion (via App Store) back in July, but now my wife says she can't get on the Interent
on her account, even though all connections are good, she has an IP, subnet, DNS are good, the ethernet settings say she is connected, but using Chrome (13.0.782.122) or Safari, just hangs on browser launch. No URL will resolve no matter what site I enter. But when I log out of her account and into mine I can connect using the same Chrome browser just fine.
The only thing I can come up with is Chrome has had issues for quite some time on Snow Leopard and Lion when trying to update. About Chrome will display there is a new version and hitting the Install button will result in a "Update Server not available Error Code: 12". Any workaround by the Chrome Blog was not helpful, and uninstalling and reinstalling the program would sometimes work. But every so often when I would manually check About Chrome it would mysteriously be updated all by itself, and I was fine. Eventually though, every so often I would check and it would say there's a new version and I would get the infamous error. I could never seem to update the program myself. I would have to wait until it did it on its own?
I don't know if fooling around with Chrome's insides (using AppTrap to get rid of Chrome, manually deleting Preferences.js files, etc) corrupted something on my wifes account, which is a limited account and had some Parental Controls enabled - although she had Allow Unrestricted Access to Internet Sites checked off. I DID, however, have the Apps section restricted at some level, and I believe certain Chrome features were blocked ( like google updater), because while logged into her account, chrome would pop up: "you don't have access to GoogleUpdater...etc" and another one named "xml or xmd" something or other, I can't remember exactly so I apologize. But while troubleshooting the no internet issue, I hit "Always Allow" for both messages, put in my password and she still couldn't get on the web, even when I turned off Parental Controls altogether. I couldn't even do a Software Update, it would just not move.
I even opened a Terminal window and Pinged www.google.com and was receiving replys at a steady rate, so I don't know what else to try. Safari is also exhibiting this same behavior, so I'm thinking its a common issue with both browsers since both use Webkit? I could be wrong obviously...
I'm at a loss as to what it could be or what to test out. Any help would be welcomed.
PhilipI had this problem on SL and on Lion as well, and it occures for WiFi and Ethernet connections.
In fact the internet connection was not broken as I could ping the destination usin the IP (not DNS name).
In this case the problem was related to mDNSResponder task which handles all dns queries.
It was the most frequent problem in my day to day work with SL and now Lion. It was never fixed by any patch from Apple. I tried almost all voodoo including fresh install, all possible config changes - no solution.
The only version with no problems related to network was 10.5.8. All the other versions had issues of different kind (WiFi instability (lost signal), DNS problems (for wireless and wired connection) sometimes associated with machine sleep and wake up and sometimes with no reason.
QUESTION: Is your problem independent of the access point / router you connect to.
I must say networking was (and still is) the weakest part, besides the other OS X weaknesses I experienced during 4 years of OS X usage.
No problems in the same network with Linux or Windows beeing ran natively on my iMac So hardware is OK.
Software is of poor quality. Not much more to say in this matter.
I found a very interesting article dated 1996 about programming which I think is still valid.
Link to the article: http://www.fastcompany.com/magazine/06/writestuff.html
Below the fragment (with some connection to Apple)
Software is everything. It also s***s.

Logic pro and soundtrack pro round trip not working right?
Hi I am using soundtrack pro as a round trip from logic pro do reduces some background noise in some audio files. This was working great. Now I know with the noise reduction I just have to save the file and it updates in logic. But sometimes I was putting compression on the audio file after the noise reduction as well in soundtrack pro, I then I hit render to selection as the compression was a real time effect. After that I hit save and closed and it updated in logic. This all worked fine until today. Now just doing the noise reduction and saving all works fine. But if I put any real time effects on and do the render to selection, sound track pro just closes itself straight after it has done the render to selection and therefore I lose my work I have done on it and it doesnt update the logic project as it was saved.
Any ideas why this is happening?
Thanks!Just checked it out thanks, but this wont help me on this one. Where I may have put real time effects on like eq or compression I then need to render to action, after that I could flatten audio. But what is happening is that when I have put real time effects on then go to render to action (so them effects now become part of the action list) once its done the render to action it just shuts it self straight away, before I even get a chance to save it. But thanks for the guess, actually showed me something I didn't know anyway, so learnt something!! Thanks.
Thinking I might try uninstalling and installing again see if that solves it? -
After upgrading my Mac Pro laptop to Yosemity I cannot open FCPX. Messages says upgrade under Apple software upgrades but computer says no upgrades are avaiable.
There is no "Software Update" option with OS X Yosemite. It has been changed to "App Store," and updates are in the App Store.
It sounds like there's something odd with your install of FCP X. You can always remove it and reinstall it; you shouldn't lose any of your projects or media (though I'd recommend you have a backup). The easiest way to remove it is to activate LaunchPad and then find FCP X and click and hold on the icon. Once it starts to jiggle, just click the "X" in the upper left corner to remove it, like you would on iOS. Once it's uninstalled, try installing again from the App Store. -
Re-entering serial number for Logic Pro 8 is NOT WORKING.
I purchased Logic Pro 8 when I bought my MacBookPro in 2008. Two weeks ago the main logic board had to be replaced. Logic Pro 8 then wanted me to re-enter my serial number. I re-entered it, but am getting "serial number is not valid." What the **** do I do now?
Thanks in advance to anyone with a hint...
<Edited by Host>Thanks for the tip, the trick is now going to be contacting Apple. They don't seem too eager to provide phone numbers without having me throw them MO MONEY. After the hassle and expense with the main logic board, I'd like to be able to get my legally purchased software running again. Will let you know how it goes, meanwhile thanks for the quick answer

After upgrading to iOS5 - phone ear speaker is NOT working
Well, my excitement from upgrading to the new iOS5 on my iPhone 4 gave way to frustration when I found out that the phone's built-in ear speaker is no longer working. Tried everything from a hard reset, to re-syncing with iTunes, playing around with every setting I could find, and a few "fixes" I found online that were absolutely useless and did nothing.
This only appears to happen when making or receiving phone calls (and listening to voice mail) - when I select speaker, all audio plays normally, but clicking back over to headset, and nothing. Earbuds also work okay.
Prior to installing iOS5 this problem did not exist in the least.
Apple - I am going to ASSUME you properly beta tested this OS on ALL compatible devices prior to its release, did you not? Apparently (from my web searching) I am not the only person suffering this malfunction with their iPhone after upgrading to iOS5.
Is there anyone out there that has figured out a way to fix this, or am I just screwed? I don't know how to revert back to iOS 4.3.3 if that's even possible at this point. This is a phone I use for work, and I need to have this functioning properly.
Please help. Anyone... thank you.I'm having exactly the same problem with my iPhone 4. Since the upgrade to IOS5, I've noticed I can no longer hear calls through the ear-piece, though using the speaker phone option works fine.
I took my phone to the Apple Store in Sydney and they advised that the problem was related to my sim card & that I should contact my telco for a replacement. I seriously didn't believe the Apple rep when she said this, but politely said thanks, went home and tried it out by swapping my sim with my wife's.
Guess what... it didn't make the slightest difference.
My wife has an iPhone 4 still running IOS4 and the ear-piece works fine. I even put my sim card into her phone and it worked fine as well. So the issue is definitely not related to the sim card.
It sounds like a common issue affecting a lot of iPhone 4 users that have upgraded to IOS5. I'm surprised Apple hasn't acknowledged this and have a patch available to correct (it doesn't sound like a hardware issue).
Anyway, looks like a trip back to the Apple store for more great suggestions. -
After Upgrading to 10.9.2 Isight is not working
Hi,
i just updated Mavericks to 10.9.2 on my Mac Book Pro (3.1). Now Facetime and Photo Booth is not working anymore.
Facetime is not working at all and crashes. Photo Booth tells me that isight is not connected.
The Isight is still visible in the System Monitor.
Any Ideas? It is really frustrating, beacuse i am not able to use facetime anymore.I've got the same error on my MBP 4.1 (VDCassistant also crashing all the time).
SMC Reset also did not work. Hope that Apple will fix it soon (possible a 10.9.2.1 update)...
Here is my crashreport that is updated almost twice a second:

After upgrade to Yosemite 10.10.3, IPhoto not working
After upgrade I am not able to import photos from my Kodak M1093IS camera. When I connect the camera, and click on import photos I get an error msg saying .jpg is not the correct format. I had no trouble importing from this camera before the upgrade - Help!
SteveUse Image Capture to try to upload the photos to a folder on the Desktop. If you can see if you can import them from there.
Does the camera have a memory card? If so, once you've off loaded the photos use the camera to reformat the card. Take some test shots and see if iPhoto will recognize and import now. -
after I upgraded to snow leopard my printer does not print. I get an error message that says printer cannot be found. my printer status says my printer is idle, but is green.
You forgot to mention what printer you have, but you may need a new driver:

Since upgrading to Lion, iCal event invitations are not working well.
Since upgrading to Lion last week, I am having problems with sending iCal event invitations to large groups of people (say 10 people or more). Although my iMac, iPhone, and iPad iCals show that invitations have been sent, only a few of those invited have actually received event invite emails.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, any insight into the problem or solution?
Thanks in advance.Nathan Miah wrote:

If you want.
or maybe install Snow Leopard using the disc it came on with my Mac and just set it up from a Time Machine Backup on my external hard drive (since it works under SL)?
Did you install Lion on an empty partition, or did you upgrade Snow Leopard? If you upgraded, I'd not recommend erasing it, since your backups are apparently gone. It's doubtful Snow Leopard will recognize them.
It's not just backups on the drive either, there are other important things on there, so why won't they show?
Mixing Time Machine backups and other data is not a good idea. See #3 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions. It sounds like the whole disk is corrupted.
I just really don't understand how this happened. Could it not be an issue with WD because they haven't issued firmware to support Lion yet?
If this is a simple external HD, connected by USB or FireWire, no, unless you installed some of WD's software on it. That shouldn't prevent it from being seen at all, but anything's possible. -
Upgrade to lion and time machine does not work
I upgraded to Lion and my WD Live network drive that I always used for wireless time machine back ups no longer works. I get the following error:
Time Machine could not complete the backup.
The network backup disk does not support the required AFP features.
What can I do to fix this?Your network drive isn't compatible with Lion. See #C16 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.

I bought the nanopad2, I am using it with Logic Pro X and I am having some strange situation, basically Logic is not respecting the changes that I do in the Korg Kontrol Editor, for example if I set in the Kontrol Editor that the first pad is D1 note when I press that pad Logic interprets that the note is A#1.
I thought that maybe the problem was the device but I have tested it in Reaper and it works perfectly.Hi Guys, thanks but I have found the solution. Basically the issue was due a wrong configuration on Logic, in order to set up for use it with nanoPAD2 you have to go to: Logic Pro X -> Preferences -> Display -> Display Middle C as: G4 (Roland).
And it is all, the issue was fixed.
Thanks for your help!!
