After uploading OSX Mavericks problem
I've had lots of problems with this new system but this one grates. Before the change I used to put the computer to sleep and wake it when I wanted. No problem, easy and managable. Now I do the same and when I return often there is no response just a white screen. I have to shut down then reopen. In the past I never had to enter the password and now I sometimes have to do so. What is going on? Any kind of remedy for this pain in the rear?
Really sorry to have made this change. Someone recently told me I was stupid to download this so early but should have waited some time after the change had gotten over its querks. I agree but wasn't thinking at the time. I jumped too soon on the iTunes update of some time ago and now am in the dark as how to get anything useful out of it. I'm an old fellow (75) and find changes difficult since my basic understanding of computers is so very flawed.

Why can I cannot log into to my AOL account after installing OSX Mavericks?
Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the
computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager
screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo).
4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo). -
After downloading OSX Mavericks, my AOL mailbox has disappeared and all AOL messages have been lumped in the inbox along with my gmail messages. What do I have to do to get my AOL mailbox back?
Linking AOL and gmail? I don't know what that means. But if it means what I think it does - that you have the AOL and gmail servers chatting directly with each other through some configuration, I'd definitely disable that.
In general, the messages either aren't deleted, or aren't correctly deleted, or there's a protocol or network error, or some sort of a mail server error.
First diagnostic is a mailbox repair. Mail.app > Mailbox > Rebuild
Then verify that the credentials are correct and the connection is reliable:
Mail.app > Window > Connection Doctor
And yes, if you have gmail and AOL chatting directly with each other, undo that. -

Just an update... A rep contacted me and we did a screen share. They were convinced that I wasn't full of <insert proper word here>. They promised to get back to me in a few days, and now? A few months later? Nothing.
Still no files. Still no correction... Still no nothing from Adobe.
The person I spoke to was kind, saying he'd make sure I got CC for free for a while...
Still though, no follow up.
Adobe, are you going to correct this or just let your customer suffer at your mistakes? -

After downloading OSX Maverick you then cant use work. excel or powerpoint. What do i use and how can i recall my word documents etc
Use Office for Mac 2011. If you have it, open one of the programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and do Help > Check for Updates from the menu.
Otherwise, purchase Office 365 and use that. -
HELP- After installing OSX Maverick, Microsoft Office is having problems!
I recently updated my computer to the new opperating system OSX Maverick. After doing so when I tried to open microsoft word it asked me to sign into my microsoft account to re-initiate it. Ive tried many different times, on many different days each time with the same error message "we could not reach your account, please check your internet connection and try again later". I have tried re-starting my computer along with many other things, I have also gone online and signed into my microsoft account, therefore I know the information I used to attempt to log in is correct. Is this a possible compatibility problem between Maverick and Office or is it simply a problem with Microsoft at this time. I have the Mac 2011 home office 365 currectly installed on my computer.
It must be the Office 365 link acting up. You might want to try disabling it if Office 2011 is your main tool.

I just had this same thing happen to me. My rMBP was kernel panicking, giving random error messages, freezing, and all sorts of other unrelated things. Took it to my local apple store (Authorized Service center, not Apple-owned) and after many tests passing, they couldn't figure it out. I told them that when I hit the bottom of the laptop a few times it would boot up. It hung on a gray screen for awhile, and hitting the bottom caused it to boot up immediately.
I then proceeded to tell the person that the SSD is likely loose. What did not make sense is that during the hardware tests the drive was recognized and passed with flying colors. Upon reboot, nowhere to be found. Long story short, the tech eventually decided to give an SSD reseat a try and what do you know- booted up the first time, no problems, no errors. Didn't cost me anything.
I also had other random things happen, such as WiFi needing disabled/enabled each time the computer woke from sleep or was turned on, graphical glitches, and so forth. Although none of those things are SSD related, they are fixed. Maybe the diags were what fixed those, not entirely sure. It appears to work as good as new. Now I don't need to do an OS reinstall. Yay. -

Sorry for my EnglishThis happens quite a bit on the recently released beta's of Solaris Express and I would guess OpenSolaris as well. There was a thread on OpenSolaris.org that Jurgen Keil posted that disables some aspects of the CPU that on my system at least alleviated the issues.
I've not seen any reports on it from Solaris 10 so it might be unrelated. Which version of Solaris specifically are you using?

As it turns out, it was necessary to upgrade Java Runtime in order to open the applications. It seems to be an issue with OSX rather than Creative Suite; the only dialogue to that effect appeared when I shut down the machine. I haven't figured out why it didn't appear until then, but once it did it was simple to get the upgrade done and Voilá!

Mac Pro Mid 2010 keeps restarting after installing OSX Mavericks

my Mac Pro Mid 2010 started quitting and restarting after installing the Mavericks OSX. I was thinking about wiping out the drive and reinstalling OS X Mountain Lion but thought I should see if anyone else is experiencing these issues before going that route.
It just intermittently restarts and it tries to restart multiple times before it will actually start up again. It's not issuing a crash report. It just quits out and restarts. It started doing this just at initial startup. It now will quit and restart at any given time and it will take multiple times attempting to start before it actually starts up. I've even had to shut it down because it would going through that startup sequence without starting. No perceivable pattern as to why this is occurring. No specific programs that it occurs in. The only thing I know for certain is that it started happening after installing Mavericks OSX – OSX Mountain Lion was fine. I also made sure to unistall Mountain Lion before installing Mavericks with those potential issues of trying to install one operating system over another. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

hai guys, the code i have is as follows-- /:POSITION WINDOW /:POSITION XORIGIN '1.0' CH YORIGIN '0.5' LN /:BOX FRAME 50TW /:BOX HEIGHT '2.5' LN INTENSITY 15 but the box which i get doesn't have shading.wats the problem with intensity?.plz help me.
