Problem closed (although not resolved). After working with Apple support, no resolution was found. I asked for a refund of the iTunes match purchase price, which was granted. Interestingly the support tech, who was very nice if not particularly helpful from a technical point of view, spun the "resolution" of refunding my iTunes match purchase price as a positive one, here is a quote from the final email
"I'm glad to hear that you're not having issues with the songs you've purchased. Nothing makes Apple happier than to hear that our customers concerns have been rectified."
It is notable that I never had an issue downloading music directly purchased thru the iTunes store, the only issue that existed was downloading songs that I ripped from my CD collection and "matched".
I'm happy that I received my money back, however I wish that the iTunes Match service worked for me (I was looking forward to this service). I'm most upset at the time I wasted trying to fix this problem.
I'll now download music the old fashioned way: syncing with iTunes directly.

You have to have music in your iCloud account to do that...when you open the Music app on your iPad, for example, you can access all music from iCloud that you have already placed in the iCloud or associated with iCloud. That is not for downloading music you have not already purchased or downloaded.

I want to uninstall and then reinstall Firefox but I can't uninstall it. Nothing happens when I click remove in program access and defaults and the helper.exe file in the firefox uninstall dir doesn't do anything either.
"program access and defaults" is not the place to remove programs in Windows. You need to go to the control panel and click on Add and Remove programs. For instructions on how to uninstall Firefox, see [[Uninstalling Firefox]]

I have purchased an album and I am trying to download it all. Most of it did but three songs didn't. They show as purchased and there is a cloud next to it, but it says it cannot be downloaded at this time. Very iterating because it has already charged my card.

Nothing happens when I click on any app in the iTunes Store
I launched my iTunes and clicked on iTunes Store link on the left. The iTunes Store home page loaded as usual. However when I tried clicking on various apps to view their details, nothing happened. Occasionally the "Accessing iTunes Store" message appears in the status window for a split second but even after it went away I am still on the iTunes home page.
I can still download apps, but only if they have a price or free button next to their titles. Also, I am able to search for apps. But likewise, nothing happens when I click on the search results to view the apps' details.Try setting Firefox as the Default Browser.

For a 1G and 2G it can take hours. Make sure it is connected to a charging source otherwise the battery can fully drain before it is done. If still problem

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer

Yes, you do need an antivirus app for iOS. However, they don't currently exist because Apple refuses to make their 'proprietary' technical OS specifics freely available as open source code or to any Antivirus companies, who could examine and potentially identify security holes. Many security problems have been identified by Apple and fixed as part of iOS updates in the past (details are readily available in the iOS update information) and this will likely be a bigger problem in the future as malware authors move toward the technology leader as a target. But right now you can't get an antivirus app for iOS which scans the iOS device wholesale. This is despite the fact that (legitimate) apps are available which can take control of the entire device, install apps, wipe them or the device, view information, etc (for example Sophos Mobile Control). SMC can be installed by tapping an email link to a website and then tapping 'OK' to a couple of dialogues.

My play lists and songs on iTunes and on my iPhone won't play. They are light grey instead of black and nothing happens when I click on the songs. All of the songs were either from CD's or from iTunes that I purchased. I have home sharing turned on. This is a new issue. It used to work fine. I tried restarting my iPhone and syncing with iTunes. Try delete those songs using iTunes by de-selecting and sync. After that mark those songs and sync again.

I have a new iPod Touch and am trying to download photos for the first time. Both iPhoto & Image Capture recognize the device but don't seem to recognize the photos, or at least I can't import them. Nothing happens when I click on anything in either.
If you manually open iPhoto do you not see the photos?
