After using hotel wifi,cannot connect to internet at home network
after using wifi in the hotels this week, i cannot connect to the internet via my home network. I'm connected to the wifi but, can't connect to the internet.
I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
Power-down the modem, AirPort base station, and computer(s).
Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes to allow it adequate time to initialize.
Power-up the AirPort base station; wait at least 5-10 minutes. Note: The AirPort's status light may continue to flash amber after it has intialized. That is because, there may be some additional configuration items necessary, like setting up wireless security, before the overall setup is completed to get a green status.
Power-up your computer(s).
If the above steps do not solve the problem, start over with step 1 above, but then perform the next steps between steps 1 & 2. above.
Disconnect the AirPort base station from the Internet broadband modem.
While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref:Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
Reconnect the AirPort base station to the Internet broadband modem. For the Extreme and Time Capsule, be sure to connect the cable to the base station's WAN (circle-of-dots) port.
Continue with step 2 in the first set of steps.
In this basic configuration, the AirPort base station will broadcast an unsecured wireless network with a Network Name (SSID) of Apple Network NNNNNN. Network clients, connected to the base station either by wire or wireless, should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options. Please post back your results.

After 4.2 update cannot connect to internet
Having just updated my Airport Express with the latest update 4.2 I now seem unable to connect to the internet. Yet when I the Ethernet cable directly into my powerbook, no problems. I've run the assistant countless times, Ethernet cable connected, unconnected, completed a hard reset and re-started everything. When I check the Airport Admin Utilty, all the information for my ISP has been detected by the unit and is visable and the second Express unit with printer and speakers seems unaffected. Is there a glitch in the update???

Downloaded "Binary File" (see link) to desk top and uploaded using the Airport Admin Utility. This puts Airport back to it's 'box like' state. Did a hard reset on both units, run the Assistant and I am delighted to say...It's all systems go!!! So a big Thanks to Nigel!!!

After resetting airport extreme, cannot connect to internet
Hi all,
Few weeks ago, my modem died so today I got a new one. Connected to Airport Extreme, it wouldn't work. I downloaded airport utility for windows (I am now using a window pc with airport) and did a reset and created a new network and none of it helped. The pc is seeing the airport but it just cant connect with the internet. I keep getting message that involves "double NAT"
Please help thanks.A Double NAT error indicates that your "modem" is actually a router. Since the AirPort Extreme is also a router, you wind up with two routers in series on a network, which is a no-no.
The AirPort Extreme needs to be configured in Bridge Mode to work correctly with your "modem".
Open AirPort Utility - Click Manual Setup
Click the Internet icon
Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode)
Update
Then restart your entire network -

I can connect using wifi without any issues and surf the net. Connections seems to be fine and my friends who are on the same service have no issues. Any ideas on cause?
They said all their networks are up and working. They walked me thru some steps (powering off). Turning off Data, turn it back on, turn of LTE then turn it on. It was working fine until 8 pm last night and no new downloads so I left them scratching their heads. Worse case I will head down to the Apple Store this evening and have one of the guru's look at it but willing to bet they will reload the operating system.

The Other Network option is so you can connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot that might have its name hidden. Other Network gives you the oppertunity to type the name of the hidden Wi-Fi hotspot so the iPad can see it.
If you are looking for a Wi-Fi hotspot to join, but can not because you do not have the password to join that network, you will need to ask the hotspot's owner for permission and a password before you can join.
If you have internet in your house and you want to connect your iPad Mini to the internet, you will need a wireless router or access point. Ask your internet provider, they may already have that available for you and it would be a quick setup for them.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

I have a Macbook Pro 2010 OS X 10.8.3. I cannot connect to internet via wifi (Air por). My Macbook Pro does not recognize my network and when I select it from the list of network it asks for my network password. when I type in my password a dialog box gives me timeout error. Hi all.
I got my Macbook (unibody) for about 7 months ago. I have never had any problems with it, but now suddently Internet has stopped working. I am using only Safari. It just says "cannot connect to Internet" when i try get online. The weird thing is that Internet works to all other computers here at home, but not on mine. I have checked that all the cords are plugged in and all lights are on. I have tried using the internet cords for the other computers on my Mac, but they dont work. The cord i am using is working on other computers too, so there is nothing wrong with it. It is like my Mac doesn´t "recognize" that i have the cord plugged in. When i am on the systems settigns it says that everything is offline, and when i am on the Ethernet settings it does not have any IP adress written or anything, and i have chosen "Use DHCP".
What should i do? I was watching a movie yesterday and had the laptop in my lap, maybe it got overheated or something? Or is it something wrong with the network card? Please help, this is so frustrating!Hi all.

Have disabled IE on windows pc and am using Firefox as browser. iTunes now says cannot connect to internet even though Firefox working: suggestions?

It should be installed automatically if you install iTunes, but I guess when you installed iTunes you didn't have Firefox. Just reinstall iTunes and it should work OK (your iTunes library will not be affected) -
