Yesterday I was looking online to see ''how can I transfer pictures,files from my Nexus 7 tablet to my desktop computer with the usb cable''..
I've found several support forums like this one I'm using right now,someone has already asked a question like mine so I followed the best answer,
I typed the commands in the terminal as the helper suggested,then I restarted my desktop pc,after that it didn't connect any more,it connects wireless usually,but since yesterday no connection:(

I don't think you can connect a printer since you won't have the printer drivers. I use FingerPrint from collobos.com to print to my non-AirPrint printers.

After using the minidisplay port to connect to a projector, my computer screen does not have the usual sharp resolution. How do I get back that sharp resolution? The computer screen images are now a bit blurry.
Do you mean after the projector is disconnected? It should change back to normal after disconnecting. If it does not, go to System Preferences > Displays and move the resolution setting back to the largest number.

Running 10.6.8 on Intel dual core iMac, it keeps on losing internet connection. Webpages get stuck after a minute or so. If I check the internet connection via diagnostics it seems to work just fine. Others, like the iPad use the same wifi connection and never fail. What can I do?

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

Error while importing the tables from MySQL using the data source connection

I am using the JMS Wrapper Connection Poooling provided by Weblogic. When i use Jmeter and do the load testing for around 10 users, the server gets crashed.
I doubt something is going wrong with the Weblogic JMS Connection Pooling, please help me..The problem doesn't look like it has anything to do with wappers per se. The stack indicates that the JVM died when the persistent store tried to invoke a standard Java synchronize operation. JVM crashes need to be analyzed by a JVM expert, so I second the suggestion to solicit help from JVM experts and/or filing a case with customer support. In the mean-time, you can probably work-around the issue by either (A) ensuring you have a recent version of the JVM installed, or (B) temporarily switching to the Sun JVM.

I have a Mac Pro 4,1 quad core intel Xeon running mac OSX 10.6.8 and I have just moved studios and now need to use the Internet wirelessly but there's no airport facilities on this model can anyone tell me what model of airport card I would need for this mac
Instead of getting a wireless card for the Mac Pro, you might want to consider getting an 802.11ac wireless bridge device that would enable you to connect more than one device to it by Ethernet cable and to eventually take advantage of the faster 802.11ac wireless standard.

EDIT 2: It cannot be restored via iTunes 'cause I get a screen message saying that there's no SIM card in the iPhone I'm attempting to activate. The friend who sold me the phone showed me a method for restoring it on the phone itself, without having to send the command through iTunes (connect the phone to computer, turn it off, hold both Home and Power buttons until the Apple logo disappears, release the Power button without releasing Home button, iTunes shows a message about an iPhone in restoring mode, restore, etc.). Thing is, I tried this two or three times on the iPhone 5 but the device still doesn't recognize the stupid SIM…

I'm taking a survey course of languages and we are covering perl this week. I need to write perl script that will parse xml data, but I can't even figure out how to use the terminal.
when I open the terminal I get this line(I subed out my name and username):

i have tried command from tutorials such as ls and that works, but I can't figure out how to run scripts from a file. I have tried a simple hello world app by typing:

print "Hello World!\n";
in text edit saving it as hello.pl then I tried to type hello.pl in the terminal and it says
-bash: first.pl: command not found
can someone explain in simple terms how to run simple programs like this?

It is a common mistake, and I'm glad you avoided it.
However I still could not figure out how to run first.pl. using ./first.pl and ~/first.pl
The "chmod +x first.pl" step is need to mark the file as an executable. As previously suggested by etresoft and me, you can also just use "perl first.pl" and avoid the other configuration stuff.
I downloaded fraise as you recommended. Can you guide me through the part were you said, "modify your PATH environment varialble so it includes a directory where you put your personal scripts." i did not understand what you meant by "Create the file .bash_profile in your home directory (you will need ls -a to see the file after you create it). In .bash_profile".
Any file that begins with a period will be invisible to the Finder. And the 'ls' command will by default not show files that begin with a dot. "ls -a" will so all files in a directory, including those that begin with a dot. This was the Unix way of cutting down on clutter in a directory, by having 2 classes of file name, and the ones with a leading dot were then typically used for things like initialization files.
In this case .bash_profile is a bash shell initialization file. By default Mac OS X Terminal sessions use the bash shell to service the commands you enter at the command prompt.
However, a new Mac OS X account typically does NOT have a .bash_profile, so if you wish to customize various bash behaviors you would need to create the .bash_profile yourself.
And as much as I happen to love the vim (and before that vi) text editors, they have a very steep learning curve, so I'm hoping that etresoft was being humorous when he suggested you should avoid a GUI text editor such as Fraise
And besides, if you start down the vi/Vim path, it will only lead to text editor wars with the emacs uses of the world Since you are trying to get through a programming language survey course, perhaps you can skip the text editor debates until a later semester.
With respect to PATH. PATH is a standard Unix environment variable that contains a list of directories that the shell (bash) will search when trying to find the executable file with the same name as the command you entered at the shell command prompt.
If you do not modify your PATH environment variable, it generally looks like:
echo $PATH
/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11/bin
where each directory is separated by a colon (:). The shell will take the command name you entered, and search each directory from left to right until it find an executable file that matches your command.
What I was suggesting is that you create your own personal directory where you put executable programs and scripts, and then add that personal directory to your PATH environment variable.
Since the bash shell is going to read .bash_profile when you start a new Terminal session and execute the commands it finds in .bash_profile, that is the idea place to customize your PATH
# Assuming you have created a folder called 'bin'
# in your home directory, and you put your personally
# created executable programs and scripts in there
# then the following export command would modify your
# PATH to include your personal bin directory. It does
# not need to be called bin, that is just a long standing

And one final point. etresoft pointed out that the she-bang (#!) line was wrong. I find the following to be the most portable way to specify the #! line
#!/usr/bin/env perl
print "Hello World!
/usr/bin/env is a POSIX standard program that must list in /usr/bin/env, and it will invoke the script interpreter specified as its single argument. /usr/bin/env will use PATH to find the script interpreter, so as long as perl exists in one of the directories specified by PATH, my above #! will always find it, no matter what Unix platform I copy my perl script to, or hand it in for a homework assignment (OK, it is been a lot of years since I did homework, but you might find it useful for your survey course).
etresoft also suggested included the -w option in your #! line. That is not possible when using "#!/usr/bin/env perl", however, you can can just add the "use warnings;" statement to the your perl script and get the same effect:
#!/usr/bin/env perl
use warnings;
print "Hello World!
And if you want perl to look even close at your code you can change warnings to strict
#!/usr/bin/env perl
use strict;
print "Hello World!

Any unix commands to view network status & activity using the terminal?
I don't use the terminal much and was wondering if there are any unix network commands that let you view packet contents, connection status and other network information. I'm not interested in making any changes, I just want to use the terminal to get network and related information.

There are tons of commands; it would help to know what you want to know. You can monitor the status of all ports with:
sudo lsof +Mi
That will display all network connections and all listening daemons. A command that is similar to that is:
netstat -a -f inet
Of course netstat specializes in network information and there are lots of different stats it will display.
If you run a firewall, it keeps stats on rule matches. You can see them with:
sudo ipfw -atdN list
As has already been mentioned, Mac OS X comes with tcpdump but there's only one great packet sniffer: Ethereal. It doesn't come with OS X but if you have X11, it can be installed with a packet manager like Fink.
Finally, many running services keep their own stats or logs. You would have to read up on the ones you're running to see what information they provide.

Yes tried resetting the wifi connection and problem still persist.
Here it is...to make it clear. Connected thru the same wifi at home...
-> emails (yahoo/gmail) and facebook WEBSITES are working fine and fast when using/accessing thru a browser (chrome/samsung browser) - no problem with this.

Slow I mean comparing it to using their browser/websites... news feeds/emails refreshing so quickly but not when using the APP installed in Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Slow like - It will take around 5-10minutes just to get your emails and news feed refreshed.
THIS HAPPENS ONLY WHEN CONNECTED THRU A WIFI which has a speed of 10-20mb. It is not happening when connected to the network data/plan.
My wife has the same Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (coming from different provider at&t) - same setup (emails, fb app), same wifi connection, but she's not experiencing anything like it.
Not sure why, I dont want to believe that while connected to a WIFI, Verizon is restricting anything and ******* me off to make me switch to my data plan connection everytime - which is Unfair!
Was there a known issue similar about this case?

iPhone 6 page says that iMovie is a (free) application available for iPhone 6. When I use it on the desktop I need a mouse. Should I expect all controls to be touch-sensitive, or is it possible to use the wireless Magic Mouse? Similarly, if I want to type an email or a long document, is it possible to use the Mac wireless keyboard to enter text? With the iPhone 6 Plus taking over for laptops (phablet), it seems to me that input tools are relevant. Maybe what I'm asking is whether the iPhone6 (OS8) has drivers for these devices. Please advise.
Apps that are designed for iOS devices such as the iOS version of iMovie are intended to be used entirely by touch. It's worth noting that iMovie for iOS is not absolutely identical to iMovie for Mac OS.

My keyboard freezes after using the option key... what gives?
I have a 17" MacBookPro with OSX 10.6.8
The problem: My keyboard key freeze after using the " option key" in Photoshop or when downloading a file using the option key.
I can usually use it 2 or 3 times before it makes a chirping cricket like sound… then my keys freeze up.? The only way to correct it is to restart.
Anyone else have or had this issue? it's frustrating. What's the deal?hausman wrote:

You'll have to phone the service center and ask. (When I lived not far from Lenovo's Canadian service center and wanted to bring in a ThinkPad for warranty repair they said that would be OK with them but my unit would be put on a queue the same as if I'd shipped it in. They simply didn't offer walk-in, while you wait service.)
In the interim it may or may not be possible to reattach the key, even just temporarily, depending on whether it wasn't put on properly at the factory or if it's physically broken in some way. Or you could use an external keyboard until Lenovo sends you a replacement, etc.
I've just call the local service center, he told me that he can not repair individual key, they can just replace the whole keyboard..... How bad luck I am!!! -
In LR6CC, after using the merge to HDR and the photo returns to LR as a DRG, it is not automatically put into a previously set up stack. For example a stack of three photos. If I use NIK HDR and the photo returns to LR, the stack is automatically changed from 3 to 4. When LR's HDR merge brings a photo back into LR's library, the stack number does not change and the DRG version isn't included in the stack.

The Ps CS6 public beta version contains the same camera support as found in Ps CS5/5.5 compatible CR 6.6. There will be future updates to CR 7 for Ps CS6 to pick up more camera support. The Nikon D800 NEF files are not supported, yet.
If you like to work with your D800 files in the public beta build now, you'll have to get the DNG Converter 6.7 from here: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/cameraraw6-7/
and convert your files to DNG.
