After using TM My flash drive doesn't work on windows ! what should i do?

Hi everyone !
i Bought My Macbook Pro 2 Days Ago And This Is The First Time That I'm Using A Mac.
today i tried to make a backup of my Mac Os and i thought maybe i could use my flash drive , so i connected it and i opened the TM and it asked me that it should erase my flash drive so it can back up the files on it , but after doing all that stuff i found out that my flash's capacity is not enough for a complete backup, but now i cant use it like i used to, and it doesn't show up on my windows ... now how can i make it work normal ?!

it doesn't show up on my windows ...
If you mean 'wndows computer'... You will need to go to your Applications/Utilities folder and run 'Disk Utility'.
Plug in the flash drive, locate it on the left and click on the name to select it.
Then erase/format it using MS-DOS. When done, close Disk Utility and eject the flash drive.
Check it for proper operation on a Windows machine.
You can also erase/format it on a Windows machine or in a digital camera, as an example.
You can also format it for Mac OS, but I recommend keeping it Windows format for compatibility.
Good luck in any case.

Apple Care says it may be a bad hard drive and I should exchange the machine. However it was a special order, and it is a 6 week turnaround for a new machine. I use it for work, so that is a big issue.
If Apple offers you to exchange your machine and it is under warranty, by all means do it don't wait until your AppleCare expires.

  • My flash drive doesn't work

When i inserted my flash drive in my mac it didn't pop up in my desktop like it always does instead it was like i didn't insert anything it worked in the morning i closed my laptop then took out my flash drive then i opened my laptop later and inserted the flash drive and it didn't work it doesn't even show on my finder what should i do? is my flash driver broken?

Choose Computer from the Finder's Go menu and see if it appears.
If it does, open the General tab of the Finder's preferences and check the box for it.
If it doesn't open the Disk Utility in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder and mount or repair it. If it doesn't show up there either, it's probably dead.

  • CD/DVD drive doesn't work in windows side of bootcamp

After getting Windows 7 64-bit and bootcamp installed successfully and updating it entirely I decided it was time to start installing some programs using the CD/DVD drive. When I put the disc in, the drive spun up and then proceeded to eject the disc. I tried all manor of CDs and DVDs, and every single disc spins up then gets ejected. The drive works flawlessly in OSX, but refuses to work after I put in the OSX disc to install boot camp in Win7.
Why is this happening? Should I try an external drive? Help!

Iv'e tried the apple update and it found no new updates, and my MBP spits out the OSX install disc like all the others.
In an interesting twist I just got it to play A Pink Floyd CD, but it only plays when VLC media player is open. Very odd.
Should I uninstall the drivers for the drive? Would that help at all?

  • Flash Player doesn't work on Window 7 mobile phone

The Adobe Flash Player does not work on the Windows 7 mobile phone when you are randomly surfing the Internet. Pandora Internet Radio does not work at all, or any Internet Radio site.  This is really a shame, that Microsoft and Adobe would allow a product to be released without all the functions and applications to meet the customers's needs. It appears that I will be returning my Windows 7 mobile phone. Very Unsatisfied.

Hi, I have the following info that may be helpful. If it isn't then I certainly would call Microsoft or visit Microsoft.com and look for the Win 7 mobile phone info and or forum.
You can also call your carrier, which should have info on whether Flash Player is available for it.

I don't know if those links have been updated or not.
Hope that gives you some direction on what to do.

  • MS Word crashed and now my USB/flash drive doesn't work.

My MS Word crashed and when it recovered I got an alert saying my USB was not ejected properly (even though I didn't eject or remove it). I then removed it and put it back in and now my MacBook Air won't read it at all, and when I try it on a Windows laptop it says the drive is empty.
Please help! It has all my uni files on it!
    Thanks so much.

Try plugging it into your MacBook and then repairing the disk permissions using Disk Utility.
Repairing a disk's permissions using Disk Utility.
Note: This should not delete any information or files from the disk.
Repairing a disk's permissions can help solve various file-related issues.
To begin, make sure your external disk that you are repairing is connected to the computer. If you are repairing an internal disk, skip this step.
After the drive is connected, launch the Disk Utility application in any of the following ways:
Type the first few letters of its name into Spotlight. Select it from the results.
Go Finder > Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility
Go Launchpad > Utilities > Disk Utility
Once you are in the Disk Utility app, select the external drive from the sidebar on the left.
Then, choose the Repair Disk Permissions button on the right.
If this does not solve your issues, you may have no choice but to reformat the drive using Disk Utility.

  • After installing Mavericks, the optical drive doesn't work for movie DVDs, program install DVDs, or music CDs.

The disc loads but is immediately spit back out. I am fairly sure this is an OS X software issue, since blank CDs don't exhibit this behavior. As far as I know, the drive was working fine before installation of OS X 10.9 (actually the machine is at 10.9.1). The machine is a Mac Mini late 2009 with built-in optical drive. I have seen some other discussion of this or a similar issue in the Support Communities and the only suggested fix I have seen is to reset the SMC. I tried that, with no change in the behavior.
Also, the main OS X support page says that Mavericks includes 30 days of free support after install of the product, but when I try to follow any of the links on this page to find the "free" support, all I get are pages that require entering the serial number of the machine, which then tell me that the support for the machine has expired. Anybody know how to access the "free" support for Mavericks? It has definitely been less than 30 days since we installed it on this machine.

After browsing a lot of the "More Like This" links, it appears that a LOT of people are having this problem. It may be that a simple reset of the SMC fixes the issue on later (e.g., maybe >= 2010) Macs. Anybody been able to resolve this issue on a late 2009 Mac Mini?

  • After Using iPhoto diet iPhoto 5 doesn't work.

I removed all duplicates and iphoto just grinds and grinds. It can't display most thumbnails. The color wheel always spins. What happened?

    hello lori,
i've had similar problems with iphoto diet - though not with crashing. unfortunately, in my paranoia to not lose any photos, i've imported similar photos several times into iphoto. iphoto diet does strange things sometimes - in my experience, it doesn't always remove the proper duplicate, etc. so i've resorted to manually sorting each of 15K (ouch!) photos to remove the correct duplicate. i do this by sorting through the photos for different years. i've started working on 2004, and wanted to start with a clean slate and erase all the photos, then only import the orinigals i want, but iphoto 'residually' shows the saved thumbnails (i think they're thumbnails b/c they are only about 16kb, and don't open to full size - i get the 'white screen' that others have mentioned). i entered the iphoto folder (i know - a no no, but didn't know how else to erase 2004 photos) and deleted the 2004 folder.
sorry for being so wordy - can you suggest a way to eliminate my 2004 photos in a way that would be iphoto-friendly ?
    thanks for any suggestions.

  • My White Macbook is stuck at the loading screen, and disk utility, safe mode doesn't work either. What should I do?

I went on vacation a few days ago and in El Salvador, they have this mobile broadband sticks. Well, I was using one until it gave me a network error. After that, it shut down my computer entirely. The first time it happened, I didn't think much of it. I took the battery out and put it back in for it could work. It happened another two times, and after the third time, my MacBook stays stuck at the loading screen, and it will take 5-10 minutes on that screen, before it shuts down, or it wouldn't turn on at all. I've tried booting into safe mode, but it appears to not boot into it. I've tried resetting the Pram, and using disk utility, but that still won't work. I don't know what else to do to make it boot into  OS X  Lion.
I'm an AP student, and the majority of my work is in that computer, and it is very important! What can I do? Not only that, but I enter school in a few weeks and I need the AP work by the time I enter.
What can I do? Can someone help?
    Thanks

    Reinstalling Lion Without the Installer
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alterhatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.

  • Photowonder doesn't work on IOS8 what should I do?

From the time that I have IOS8 on my iPhone 5s I can't go to app called 'photowonder'. When I open the app I can see it for like 2 seconds and then the screen is black and it goes out to the home page. When I had ios7 everything was alright with this app. Please help me with this problem. Thank You

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
    Delete and re-install the app
Contact the app vendor (App store does not indicate it has been update for iOS 8 yet.

Once in awhile, windows firewall asks if i will allow Firefox. I always click YES, but by mistake I think I clicked NO. Ever since then, I cannot load Firefox anymore.

After downloading iOS 8, Photo stream doesn't work.
In what way? Your MyPhotoStream photos will show in in the Photos.app in the "Recently Added" album, but their is no longer a "My Photo Stream" album.
If you enabled "iCloud Photo Library Beta" in the "Video/Photos" Settings, disable it. This will prevent the Photo Stream from syncing from your Macs to the iOS 8 devices.
