After years of never a problem with lightroom, yesterday i started wiith Lightroom 5 and today all of a sudden in development mode everything just stopped working. No matter what I do none of the sliders have any effect on the picture whatsoever.

you'll need both serial numbers to install the lr 5 upgrade.
if you purchased and downloaded lr 4 from adobe or registered with adobe, you may be able to find your lr 4 serial number under the account used to make that purchase/registration (not necessarily your current adobe id), Adobe ID

If you close Firefox, then start Firefox in Safe Mode, does the problem still occur? For instructions on starting in Safe Mode, see [[Safe Mode]]. Extensions can sometimes be the cause of problems. You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Hi , All my incoming messages up to September 4th on one of my mail accounts are impossible to be read again !! When I 'click" on any of the messages a blank window appears instead of the text..!! However , all the incoming messages received yesterday and today are perfectly readable.

Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist

I've read that there is an add-on that adds Sync, included with FF starting with 4.0, to Firefox 3.6, but can't seem to find it. I need to keep a zoo of different browser versions, including 3.x, but want to sync stuff nonetheless.
So far, I tried variants of "Weave" and "Sync" on addons.m.o, and Google, but to no avail.

I use several different computers, different software, and a mobile device, too. I have the bulk of my important data in a FF3.6 profile, and I also need to keep the FF3.6 for web development purposes (every version renders slightly different, but the difference between 3.6 and 11 is very noticable). Also, FF11 has some problems, like forgetting passwords, but accrued an independent set of bookmarks, passwords, add-ons etc., so trashing that is not an option, either (although I am usually on 11 these days). Wading through tons of stuff to merge is not a good option either, and Sync would have helped to unify all of that.
@TonyE: Would Xmarks and LastPass merge with Sync data from newer FF? I'll give that a whirl.
@cor-el: Thank you for the link. It does explain the current situation, but the arguments put forward in that article are that highly aggravating marketing speak that I have come to expect from the Mozilla Corp. guys.
I still don't understand why they couldn't let the addon online for a few more days, maybe with a disclaimer that support ran out on mm/dd/yyyy, and that it will e.g. be pulled together with the main product.
@Tylerdowner: I'll probably try to merge the stuff from 3.6 into 11 by creating another FF11 profile and then use Sync between them.

I tried resetting without the power adapter and with the power adapter and nothing happens. She has only had the Itouch for 2 weeks.

I did try that numerous times and nothing happened. However, I did eventually get it to work. After trying to reset it numerous times and the screen still just staying frozen I logged into the Home Share portion on the Home computer and deleted the Bubble Birds game. Eventually the Itouch died and I was finally able to reset it by plugging it in and holding down the buttons. I doubt the deletion of the game helped, but since it seemed to be the cause, I went ahead and deleted it. Thank you for your reply.

only way is to restore the phone as new. OR wait until IOS 7 comes out in the fall.

After years still "no syncing" problems iphone itunes

Ituens can't copie to the disk Macintosh HD, no permissions.
Itunes can't tell what apps are installed on the iPhone
This is driving me crazy. and disk utility does not help.
Nor does it help to go to the Itunes folder and give permissions (including al nested folders)
Why doesn't Apple help the many users with this problem.
I'm on Maveriks now and it problem still exists.
This is a really bad experiance.
Help me please, and I have seen all posts, and many different solutions. They are to dificult or don't help.

I have 3 iPhone 4's and I'm having this problem on all 3 of them. We upgraded to iTunes 11.4.0.18 and we have Outlook 2010 and it just gets stuck on (Step 3 of 7) Syncing Contacts. We left it running overnight and it was still stuck. When this happens the progress bar keeps moving making you think it is working, but it is stuck.
I wish someone from Apple would help. We just ordered iPhone 6 phones and we need to backup so we can restore our old info.

Either you didn't actually call Apple, and got some tech support scammer instead (calling the first number that pops up on a Google search for "Apple support" can give you some bad numbers), or the Apple tech you spoke to didn't know what he's talking about. It's not a virus.
As for the problem, if you have enabled auto-capitalization and the problem continues, first try resetting your device. If none of that helps, the issue is caused by some kind of hardware problem, and the device will need to be repaired or (more likely) replaced.
