After you design a site for a client

i designed a website for a client using iWeb. now that its done they want to be able to update it on a regular basis themselves..... is there a way that they can edit the site in frontpage or something since they are working off pc's?

well as far as I know the guy has very limited web experience and wants to do it with frontpage..... wasn't sure if that was possible or not. i had figured that if I gave him the files he could piece it back together. or is it possible for him to make just the opening page in front page and then he can update that so the rest of the site including slideshow, etc. stay as is?

after i designed a website for desk top how do i save the site for cell phone use

I don't think you can simply save a desktop design as a cell phone design.  While in Muse and in the site plan view for you website you should see three tabs near the top of the page.  If you click the "Phone" tab, you will get a pop-up dialog box asking which element you would like to copy over from your desktop site (if any).  You must then design the site for cell phone use.  You can use the same objects, pictures, etc. from your desktop site and Muse should automatically optimize those elements for phone use.  However, Muse does not automatically take a desktop design and create a cell phone design from it.
As I understand it, Muse uses user-agent detection to decide which site it wants to display to the user. You however, need to create the different versions of your site so that Muse can apply a specific design for the intended use.

  • I created a site for a client...

I designed a site for a guy who loved music, wanted to own a Hiphop News Site.
So I we talked about it for a day or so, and He insist that he pay everything upfront 100%
After about a 5 day wait, It was nearly done.
Looked good, but when I asked if he had any social networking ( Facebook, Twitter, Instagram account for the Hiphop News Site ) he told me he didn't want any.
So I pressed forward and got it done in three more days.
On the day it was done, He sent me a Facebook message and said " I want News, Music, Albums, Videos, and a Home page instead of the original five pages, and get it done by tomorrow " As I told him a whole new site change were to take at least a week, He stopped replying, but I sent it to him via email.
I messaged him over Facebook and asked him to chest his email, and he never replied.
I now have about two weeks worth of site work under my belt, A domain under my name ( Its in my list of domains I own ), A professional email account that Im paging out of my pocket for monthly, and still no word from the guy, AT ALL.
Id like to redo it to someone else's standards ( If you ask me its a pour site due to the guy being so simple and demanding, not wanting to do anything good with it ) and sell it to them, but Im not sure if I legally can.
If you were in my spot ( Considering you're a great guy / lady, I already know a lot of Adobe people who reply are actually AMAZING people! ) What would you do?

He could be on vacation, ill or worse.  You don't know.  If you're in a rush, send him a certified letter (return signature/receipt requested) with a reasonable deadline for project completion. After which you quit the project and stop paying for things like e-mail accounts, etc...

  • I have created a Muse site for a client that wishes to host with Business Catalyst. How do I publish the site with their account rather than using one of my free sites?

I have created a Muse site for a client that wishes to host with Business Catalyst. How do I publish the site with their account rather than using one of my free sites? This is so I can keep my free ones for personal projects but also so they can pay for their own hosting. I am happy to set it all up for them but not sure what to do.

    Hi
You can use their BC login details and use them , which on publish the site will be under their account.
Please change the BC login from Edit > Preferences > Publish > Switch Accounts , for Mac it would Adobe Muse > Preferences
    Thanks,

  • I need to publish a new site for a client and need an IPS Tag. Where can I find this?

I have just produced a new site for a client who had originally set up a site with a host called Mr Site. She has been trying to cancel her contract with them so that she can now have her new site published, but Mr Site are saying they can't do anyting until they have the IPS Tag. Where do I find this and what do I have to do once I've given it to the Mr Site? Any help gratefully received.

    Thanks Liam,
I think I understand. However, I thought I was using Business Catalyst for hosting, so am a bit confused about that. I've created a new site for my client using Muse and assumed that by publishing it using  BC that I'd be hosting it for my client through BC. I guess that is wrong. Do you have any suggestions for how I go about hosting the site? My client purchased the domain name via Mr Site (I think?) and I'm not sure they are going to allow a site created outside of their template system to be hosted by them. I'm a bit green when it comes to the hosting side of things, this is the first Muse site that I've created and am on a very steep learning curve. Any help you can give me would be wonderful.
    Cheers,

You can if you password protect the root directory or use a robots noindex Meta tag.

Provide the name of the program you are using so a Moderator may move this message to the correct program forum

    Hi,

Did you point that SkyDrive changed to OneDrive?
Did you move your OneDrive to another location or change its name?

  • I designed a website for my client and he had already purchased a hosting package with a company, Mu

I designed a website for my client and he had already purchased a hosting package with a company, Muse is asking for the Business Catalyst in order to use the contact us form. What can I do in order to fix this and avoid having to purchase the Catalyst service. Please advise can the code be alter?

Yesterday Adobe announced updates to all the creative cloud products, including Muse. One of the new features for Muse is Forms that work on most hosting providers(not just BC).
The new version of Muse will be publicly available in June. Prerelease builds are available now for users who have joined the prerelease program (http://www.adobekb.com/participating_in_muse_beta.html)

  • Maintain an Adobe Muse site for a client once Muse subscription expires?

Hi there, I'd really appreciate some advice here. I have created a site in adobe muse for a client that is shortly to be pushed live. I also have a subscription to Adobe Muse (monthly), which  will need to terminate shortly. How can I ensure that the site made under my account/subscription stays live when my subscription expires?  It is my understanding that my client can pay a third party hoster (or adobe business catalyst) to host the site - is this the case?
    Many thanks for reading.
    Matt

    Hello Matt,
It is not mandatory to keep Muse subscription active after the site has been pushed live (this is in case of paid sites). Even if you discontinue the Muse subscription/membership, the paid site will still be very much active. It is also true that the client can use a third party hosting service or Business Catalyst to host the site. If you want them to publish from their own account with Business Catalyst, then send the .muse file to them and let them install the trial version of Muse (if they would just be publishing this site only this one time) or subscribe to Muse paid subscription (if they are going to keep making changes to the site time and again), and have them publish the site from their account.
They can also upload the site to the host from their end, or this is something that you can do for them as well, as it doesn't have the concept of account creation then.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers

  • I designed a site for a customer, exported HTML, customer wanted to launch the site themselves so when they did so it will not work on a mobile device or tablet but is fine on the PC browser.

The customer is using AT&T as the host, it seems to automatically map to the a mobile site when on a phone or tablet, could the mapping to a tablet site be on AT&T's end?
I never setup the tablet or mobile site through Muse.

As you don't include a link or other copy of your code there is no way we can answer this… however:
Upload a copy of the site to bc (business catalyst) from Muse or Dreamweaver (if Muse can't) as a temp web site then test that the code works for laptop and phones. If it works on your bc site then your code IS correct and you have answered the main question as yes AT&T is the issue… this is basic testing and you (seriously) already should have done it before letting your client see it.

  • I can't publish my site for a client to view

For the last week I've been sending drafts through BC with no problems. But today when I try to publish to new a new client I get this
No matter what I put in as a site name.
I have also tried to export to HTML but I keep getting a message saying its "Invalid domain name"
    Can someone please help!?
    Thanks

Usually that means one of a couple things:
    - Bad Internet connection
    - Business Catalyst is doing some maintenace or down.
When you think it might be on the Business Catalyst end try going to this page to see if the servers are having an issue.

  • Would you Check my Site for Me?

Hey gang. Site is still under construction. I was hoping a couple of you could just poke around to see if the links work, and see if the load times are on a par with iWeb in general. I know that iWeb code is a bit bloated and slow, but maybe I'll transfer the publish folder to some place like lunar pages.
On the gallery page, I replaced the gallery thumbnails with pics that I turned into navigation buttons for faster load.
    Thanks for any input.

  • My fire fox disappeared after downloading a music site for free.

how do I get the fire fox back after some how the user changed to yahoo/ask. do i have to delete it and start over? how do i do that.

HI Jazzy, caveat first. I'm not hugely experienced with iTunes and syncing music, BUT, I think the problem is your switch of Apple ID. The music you had before 'belongs' the the previous family AppleID. When you switched ID, then iTunes didn't associate the new ID with the old music list.
    Try this:
Log back in with the family ID. Either change the credit card number to your own, or add your credit card to the family one. You should be able to delete it later when you have finished. Then you should be able to download the Justin Timberlake album to the family account.
My suspicion is that by logging back in with the original ID, all the music should be back.
