Again: iTunes 10.1.1.4 not working
So I've read every post on here about the issues people are having with iTunes 10.1.1.4 and Windows 7. Unfortunately, nothing has addressed my issue and none of the solutions I've tried have worked. I'm not computer illiterate by any means and I've tried multiple things prior to arriving at peak exasperation. So here's what I've done: uninstalled iTunes, Quicktime and everything else (in order) and reinstalled 4 times. Restarted my PC multiple times. Scanned the computer for any viruses, spyware, corrupt files, etc. that could cause an issue. I really have no idea what to do at this point.
On top of that, I'm not getting any sort of error message from Windows 7 or iTunes indicating what the issue is. I even checked Task Manager. iTunes is running under processes, but the application itself appears completely nonresponsive. Can somebody please help me figure out what the heck I need to do?

Some questions aimed at narrowing in on common causes of error message free itunes launch failures.
(1) Does your QuickTime Player launch, or do you get an error message of some kind when you try to launch that?
(2) If your QuickTime seems to be launching fine, try (by way of experiment) disabling the BonJour Service.
In your Start Menu, right-click Computer and select "Manage".
Expand "Services & Applications".
Open "Services". (Maximise the window to better see what's going on.)
Right-click the BonJour Service and select "Properties". In the "General" tab, set Start-up type to "Disabled".
Restart the PC, and try launching iTunes again. Does it launch this time?
If iTunes launches with the BonJour Service disabled, by any chance do you have a recent version of IOBit's Advanced SystemCare utility currently installed on the PC? If so, try uninstalling and reinstalling Advanced SystemCare. Can you launch iTunes without having to disable the BonJour Service now?

When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive. It would be a few months old so it wouldn't have the complete library on it....any ideas? I'm wondering if restarting the computer might help but have been afraid to do so in case it would make it harder to recover anything...I was looking at this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4211589?start=0&tstart=0 in the hopes that it might have a helpful suggestion but it's definitely a different scenario.

I have tried to update my iPhone using the iTunes method but it will not work. The message "The iTunes update server could not be contacted. Please check your internet connection or try again later," appears. What do I do? The Internet is working fine.
Have you tried the following troubleshooting document?
iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
If you end up using the If the iTunes Store opens successfully section of the document, and the "Automatically detect settings" checkbox is already checked, try unchecking and rechecking it and clicking OK. -

iTunes 9 Home Sharing does not work on Windows 7 x64.
Getting the following error message:
Home sharing could not be activated because this computer is not authorized for the account "iTunes account." Please authorize this computer and try again.
This is a bug since my computer is authorized in iTunes and there is only 2 computer authorized for my iTunes account, so I have 3 more left till I should get this message.
I've just upgraded my iPhone to OS 3.1 using it this morning.
Please advise.

I can see and play music from the iTunes installation on my Windows 7 machine, but I CANNOT access the library to copy songs from this computer to other computers on my network.
YES, I have enabled "Home Sharing" using my iTunes account. NO, I have not authorized more than 5 computers on this account.
I believe this to be a Windows 7 related issue, as Home Sharing worked as advertised when I was using Vista (before I upgraded to Windows 7).
I CAN set up Home Sharing on two other (host) computers in my home network and it works. These computers are XP and a MacBook Pro. I CANNOT access my Windows 7 machine x64 to COPY music from one autorized library to another. Please help!!!
P.S. - I have attempted to get this to work by turning OFF my McAfee firewall. Windows firewall is disabled.

I am running Windows 7, 64-bit.
All mobile devices are up to date with ios, including 2 apple tvs (2 & 3), iphone 4s and 3gs, ipad1 & ipad2.
I've rebooted twice, turned home sharing off, then signed back in. Still nothing. Rebooted the mobile devices. No joy.
Curiously, wi-fi sync is also not working - the devices are not showing up in itunes unless I plug them in.
Please Help!Yes, you guessed. After some rebbots it stopped working again .So it seems it is not a Firewall issue. Kept looking and found a suggestion in a forum to disable IPv6, apparently iTunes for Windows doesn't work well with IPv6. So I did, and after several rebbots and tests, both Home Sharing and Apple TV 1st Gen are working. To disable IPv6, follow this link

So far IPv6 is just being rolled out, and it will be a few years until everybody abandons IPv4 and go only with IPv6, so you shouldn't have any issues disabling it. And by then iTunes -I hope- should be fixed to work correctly with IPv6. Try it, and if you find any issues you can always enable IPv6 using another MS Fix it program, or manually reverse what you did

ITunes 12.1.1 does NOT work with Windows - Fix??

I had issue after issue with the latest iTunes update (12.1.1) not working on my windows 7. It simply would not lunch when clicking on the shortcut to open.
After a fair bit of searching I found this alternative version which seemed to do the trick and now it works:
iTunes 12.1.1.4 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - iTunes64Setup.exe(2015-02-18)The "for older video cards" installer - which, like most prior "64 bit" versions of iTunes, is actually a 32 bit application with a 64 bit installer - may be a useful fallback if the full 64 bit version does not install or run correctly. Although 12.1.1.4 is a major improvement over 12.1.0.71, there are clearly still some lurking incompatibilities with some 64 bit Windows systems/components. It is, however, a little misleading to say that "iTunes 12.1.1 does NOT work with Windows" - in many cases it works fine without switching to the alternative version. I have the full 64-bit version of 12.1.1.4 running on three systems - two Windows 7 and one Windows 8.1 - no issues with either installation or operation on any of them.

I attempted to perform the itunes update on two different PCs. Itunes will no longer open and prompted me to reinstall itunes. The reinstall did not work after several attempts and I received an error: "Runtime error R6034. An application has made an attempt to load the C Runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the application's support team for more information." Has anyone else had this issue? How can I resolve it?
I've been having the same exact problem this morning, and from the looks of it a lot of other people are posting about this issue, so I don't know if it's maybe something wrong with the download but I'm just relieved that it seems to be that instead of a corruption issue with my windows installation. I'm just wondering how long this will take to be resolved.

I downloaded the newest verion of itunes. Now quicktime is not working...error 2096. I have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes. still nothing. i have read countless other people having the same issue. What is the problem?????

That one is often a compatibility mode problem. Try the following document, only be sure that none of the boxes in the compatibility mode tab are checked (not just the compatibility mode box itself):

The itunes ogg drop X component not working

I installed the itunes ogg drop X component not working from Ogg Drop X 1.0b5 and rebooted.
I still cant play ogg streams. they play fine in a VLC player so I know they work.

Hello! I have installed Photoshop on PC WIN 7 64bit. When I store first time a Photoshop docuument, it works fine - after re-opening and doing changes I trying again to store it - it does not work anymore! First it does not accept the name (message "It can not be stored because the nam is invalid" With 2. trial it tells me that the data is blocked and I don't have the rights - and I should chenge them. But I am working as the Admin on my PC - and each trial to change the rights of the data is as well not possible because of missing rights - even I am Admin! I must always store the data with a new name, then it works, but I also cannot remove the old datas or shift them into the waste paper - because of no rights! -- sorry for not perfect english, I am German native speaker! I am using a Nvidia 4200M adapter in my Laptop, Driver 266.96, Direct X 11
In my desktop I am using an ATI XFX 6950, latest revision drivers (I am not at home right now so I cant get that info).
The issue I did describe above, but it was a long explanation.
In some flash games the game files load initially and get as far as the "click to start" button. Then the flash area usually goes either all white or all black (usually depending on the falsh game default background color) and then it stays that color. Cant see anything after hitting start (usually most games have an intro video or animation before the game starts, but I cant see any of it.
For the very few games that do start, the flash game or application does not seem to work correctly in that when the rare game starts, it wont save any game files or save files to the pc and so if I exit the game (navigate away to another page or close browser) and then later come back, even though I click the option to save games (and ensure that the flash application slider shows it can save files and lots of space) it does not save and I have to start from the beginning all the time.

I recently moved my music to an external hd. I deleted the music from the internal. When i plug in the External,itunes doesnt pick it up. I have pointed itunes towards external but still not working,driving me nuts!

the best way would be to copy the entire iTunes folder (not just the iTunes music or media folder) from <MacintoshHD>/users/<yourname>/music on your Mac to the external, then launch iTunes while holding the option (⌥) key, click on choose library when prompted, and select the iTunes folder on the external.

The first thing I recommend is quitting and relaunching the applications on your iPhone:
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.

If you are still seeing the same issue after quitting and relaunching the iTunes Store, I recommend restarting your phone and then resetting if it's still not working:
Restarting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Note: Reset your device only if you are unable to restart it.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
