Again mplayer problem

After recent system update all my movies are shown in black/white and i don't know where could be the problem?
EDIT: It happens only with xv video output..

again classpath problem.... i have tried to solve it in many ways but all failed. here is one
instance of my effort which did not give me success.
i have a FOLDER > c:/com/abc/def/ijk
and files......
MyClass.java

and also one more file.....

by the way, why individually it did not work !!!.Because you were in the package directory itself, and the classpath was set to the cwd, so java was looking for package directories at this level.
and also when i specify directly by
c:\com\abc\def\ijk
javac -classpath c:\com\abc\def\ijk\MyClass
OneMoreClass.java ...it does not work!!.
STRANGE! why ?Because by stating the package directory as classpath, you do the same as explained above. Stay out of package directories, stay one level above them, don't regard them as common directories. When declaring classpaths, don't mention package directories but the directories that contain them.

Here we go again,....iTunes update for Windows 7 fails again same problem as back in Feb update

Why is it that Apple is failing to get it right lately with their updates?
Tried to install latest iTunes for Windows update on my PC Win 7 and it fails again wioth same error messages as with the previous update in Febr.
Sooo very disappointed!!!!!
To go thru all this again is taking me a few hours again to fix this problem assuming it works again this time, maybe I should just give up on iTunes instead.

First off the automatic install fails nothing happens.
Then tried the manual install after download, get the message that Apple mobile service failed to start and make sure i have required privileges to do so(Total BS)
the SetupAdmin.exe file does not provide any action.
Then right clicked the iTunes6464.msi file and installed it. Seems to install the update but when iTunes starts get the: "error 7" msg with iTunes helper was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. then w're in that **** loop......LOL
I believe this is because I have a 4 yr old laptop with old graphic card.

I kept getting this error on one particular article a couple of days ago and now it's back again:
I keep trying and I cannot get this updated. I've already turned the files over to Adobe and they found nothing.
I was working fine yesterday and now I'm back to this.

"Send Form Again?" Problem

When sending a "reply" to an online forum thread using Safari 3.1, frequently I am halfway through the reply and need to add a live link. When I go to another URL, copy the link, and try to return to my reply, I get the "Do you really want to send this form again?" message. If I cancel, Safari just stays at the second URL and does nothing. If I "Send," I am taken back, not to my half-completed Reply, but to a blank "Reply" form. This of course means I have to backtrack and re-type in the new reply form up to the point where I add the desired link.
Because I sometimes need to add more than one external live link into a given reply, I have been forced to send part of a message, and then "Edit" the message to add each live link one at a time.
The older versions of Safari did not have this problem; they always returned me to the place I left without giving me the "Do you want to send this form again?" message. Does anyone else have this problem? Or know a fix?

Glad to hear using tabs has proven to be the perfect solution for you.
I use several 3rd party add-ons in Safari. One is SafariStand. Preferences are accessed via the Stand Menu. One of the features is "switch tab with wheel". Useful if you have a mouse with a scroll wheel. Position the cursor over the Tab bar. Then, rotate the scroll wheel of the mouse. This is a quick way of moving from tab to tab, especially if you have a number of them open.

It's happened again! Problem with replacement screen (mysterious dark O ring in the centre)

I had my screen replaced for a dark O ring appearing in the centre about half a year ago. It must be caused by the apple logo on the reverse.
It's now starting to happen again and my 3 year applecare has run out
What can I do? Does a new screen come with a guarantee of any kind?

This has been a fairly common problem with Z series units, and the cure is LCD replacement.
Brand new LCDs change hands for under $200 on eBay. If you are handy and careful enough, replacing the LCD isn't that much of a problem.

I tried to reboot and worked for a while. but, if simple hybernate the ipad, once I enter again the keyboard doesnt work...so obliged to reboot and reboot every time i leave the ipad alone for few minutes.
Of course a bag.

If you are trying to create a catagory inside a collection, you cannot. Categories are a property (metadata) of the individual titles. You can't create them. You can create collection, but they cannot be nested.

Replaced modem but again same problem

Hi, I do not know what to do.
When I switched to werizon DSL internet the first two months the internet was OK, but after the light for the internet on my modem- westell 7500 started to turn red, and some times just off color. Initially the switch off/on helped but after some time the internet was not available in the most of the time. I called several times to the technical support but after hours, talking and switching...the problem stayed the same. In the end, we decided to replace the modem, BUT here after 1 week the internet is again almost not available. I tried to connect with another modem (from friend with werizon internet modem (the model is westell 6100F) and after few minutes the light for the internet turned off. I do not know what it can be?! If it helpful, we have home phone connected with werizon that works well.

I have the same or similar issue. I have had 4 Verizon technicians out, I have been on the phone for over 8 hours with tech support. They sent me a new modem today and still the same issue.
The modem is a westell 7500, If i go into the modem and see the down/up speed it says 864/160. However my connection is super slow. Speedtests at infospeed.verizon.net, speedtest.net, and speakeasy all come back with about the same result, somewhere between 130 - 220 download and 130 upload.
I thought it may have something to do with my computer settings, but it is not the case. I have deleted any programs that I didn't need (i even had a computer share with a verizon technician and he couldn't do anything). If i connect to my neighbors connection it goes super fast and the speed tests come back with resuls at 1865/864.
Please help!

Yet again another problem with Firefox Beta and Hotmail

So, I think the new version of firefox 4.XXX does not like hotmail or vice versa. When in hotmail and composing a new message, I cannot add attachments at all. I once again verified that I had this ability in the most current version of Firefox and in Safari. Everything works fine. Did the usual junk, dumped my cache, etc. And I am still having a problem with the calendar not loading. I use to work in IT in a support function and I can clearly tell you that the new browser does not like Windows Live/ Hotmail, whatever you want to call it. It is broken, so please fix this because I like the new browser other than the hotmail issues.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.

To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

Macbook Pro Memory (Once Again) & Other Problems

Been looking once again at memory for my Late 2011 Macbook Pro and altho i can upgrade to 16GB i have been told by an Autherised apple repairer and supplier that 16GB would be far too much for what i use my macbook pro for and that 8GB would be a good upgrade.
I have been told from "Kappy" on another post that i have the following problem
"your free memory is a little low, and you have PsgeOuts greater than zero which all means you are running low on memory for the number of concurrent applications running. Some disk swapping is occurring and that should start slowing down the computer. It will also lead to drive thrashing which can cause more heat from the drive and more slowing down along with the SBOD"
Now if i upgrade from my standard 4GB to 8GB would this help with the above comment that kappy has pointed out ?
I have also found this on ebay and im thinking thats its a good buy, Can someone confirm that this is the correct memory and thats its a cause of plug and play in my late 2011 macbok pro 13"

Here is my macbook specs and things also.
I currently have the app iStat Menu's which gives me lots of information and details and one of them is teh Temp of my Macbook abd how how its getting.
Can someone tell me at what point my fans are ment to start up in teh default setting as the temp went all the way up too 76 Degrees and then i moved it to over to the custom setting and put the fans to 6200rpm to bring the heat back down.
Is there anyway that i can reset the fan or fan sensors ?

Mplayer problem after pacman -Syu

Hi everybody
after i did an upgrade, mplayer started to have problems, the video shows fine, but the sound is choppy almost unrecognizable, i have tried reconfiguring my sound driver with alsaconf and i delete my .xine file but it still the same i also try reinstalling mplayer but that didn't work either
noatun and kaboodle won't even start, if i try from konsole i don't get any warning or advise, it just stall without doing anything
VLC works fine.
Kaffeine works fine too.
any ideas ?

i did a little more testing and i found:
Mplayer:
plays mp4 without problems
plays avi without problems (only from konsole using -ao alsa )
if i use -ao oss the sound is bad.
vlc:
plays both mp4 and avi without problems
kaffeine:
also plays both mp4 and avi although it says that it cannot find the opengl driver
kaboodle and noatun won't start if i try from konsole i got no error messages but the application never start, if i try from the kde menu the app start but it stall when i open a file.
amarok works fine with the xine engine and alsa output so i don't think is a sound problem, i'm suspecting more of a driver issue maybe, but is strange that some apps work and some does not.
on the other hand it could be something related to "oss" is there a way to make sure that my system is using alsa?, i marked the option on the kde control panel but i'm not so sure anymore
