Again on artworks - sorry

Hi all,
I (living in Germany) have a problem getting the artworks for my 2000+ songs. I have checked "Automatically download missing artwork?" in the iTunes preferencies, but nothing happens.
I cannot download artworks via menubar > Get Album Artwork because this command is "greyed out" though I'm logged in into iTunes Music Store.
What can I do? Any help? Please?

Okay, it's not really answered, the silly "greyed out" command in the menubar <Get artwork> still doesn't work (why???), but I searched around for myself to get the trick.
And I found it: Just work with the context-menu!
Select a song or more or all and with right-click (control-click) open the context-menu, where you can chose "Get the artwork", too.
And it really works.

okay my first question is how do i get picture into itunes or my ipod...and can i get pictures to become artwork for a cd or if i cant where can i get the artworl becasue i click get artwork but nothing ever happens...it found a couple for some CDs but not all...any info is greatly appreciated

If you right click on a track and click 'get info', you can then click on the artwork tab and add artwork there. If Itunes fails to download the artwork for your CD from the internet, you can add it yourself here. Just copy the album cover from an Amazon sales page into a folder on your computer and paste it in here. If you have an album with 12 tracks, you can select all the tracks by clicking them while holding down control, and then click get info and add artwork for all of them at once. Itunes will ask if you want to change all the files and you can click yes. You can actually add any jpeg picture and have it on your ipod, using this copy and paste process.
Then, when you sync your ipod with your computer, the artwork will be transferred, provided you have checked 'sync artwork' in the box on the ipod's preferences page.

Rows into Columns again I'm sorry

Hello, and apologies for asking yet another question about transpose and index functions.
Complete spreadsheet newbie, and have no idea of correctly formatting formulas. Can someone please explain what formula i need to enter to get the data from range D2:DJ2 into a column starting at C3? I have tried many different variations having read the multiple threads covering this topic but keeping getting various errors.
I appreciate any help you may be able to offer

Numbers has a transpose function, but it only creates an internal array that must be brought to light with, for instance, the INDEX function.
I only recommend TRANSPOSE to those who complain, because they havn't searched, that Numbers doesn't have a transpose function
The easiest route is to use OFFSET with ROW() and COLUMN() functions, reversing the position relative to the row and column offset parameter descriptions in the OFFSET function, like this:
OFFSET(base, row-offset, column-offset, rows, columns)
is used this way:
OFFSET(base, COLUMN(), ROW())
Generally you will have to use constants offset to set the beginning row and column values to account for exactly where your source and destination cells are in the table. In your case:
=OFFSET($D$2, 0, ROW()-3)

I got uploaded after many ways. Just logged in windows PC and opened Internet explorer and uploaded it worked.

ITunes 5.0.1 - lost all my album artwork

I used the automatic update tonight, and everything seemed to go fine but now I see that I'm without any of the artwork that I had downloaded. Where do I find this? And how do I make iTunes recognize it again?

Also, just an FYI for people - back up all your music BEFORE upgrading to 5.0 - I lost all of my music when I upgraded from 4.9. Ultimately it was irrelevant b/c my hard drive was crashing and had to be replaced. Starting all over, everything is fine, but all the possible fixes on these sites couldn't find my old music again.

The artwork is stored in the music files. When your hard disk crashed and you lost your music, the artwork went with it.
Unless you have put the artwork back into your music files after the loss, it is gone. Sorry.
And yes people should always keep their stuff backed up.
Not just before doing an upgrade, but all the time because sometimes a disk can fail and give little warning.

IPod classic album artwork showing in iTunes no longer in Ipod

Hi everyone,
I have an iPod classic and until today, my album artwork always would show in iTunes and iPod Classic. The artwork is now no longer showing in my iPod and the "get info" tab is not available for me in iTunes.
I tried ticking off the artwork in my iPod, syncing, then ticking again the artwork and albums, then syncing again and still to no avail. Please help, I would be grateful if someone could give me a solution

Restoring is the function in iTunes that wipes a device, reloads the firmware and then lets you put back content. Yes, it deletes the media from the device but that should all be in your library, which in turn should be backed up. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device and Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy if it isn't.

TS3297 iTunes store says: "Purchase of this item is currently not available. This item is being modified. Please try again later."

I'm trying to purchase an album via iTunes and I keep getting the message:
"Purchase of this item is currently not available. This item is being modified. Please try again later."
What does that mean? Why is it listed in the store if it's not available? When will it be available?

Sorry, but which part of that do you not understand?
Perhaps they're changing the price, so while they are doing that, you cannot buy it. It'll save you moaning later that you bought it and then the price went down. Or perhaps they've found that the album is faulty and so it has been removed until they can upload a non-faulty version. In either case, it will be available when Apple are ready to make it available. No one here knows when that will be.
Wait 24 hours and try again. If no luck, wait another 24 hours and try again. Obviously, Apple would prefer you to buy the song from them, so that's why it's still listed. But it's up to you how long you wait before deciding that you've waited long enough and you simply buy the album from another store. You have that choice, it's not compulsory to buy from Apple you know.

ITunes match wont show artwork, without downloading a song?

I did upload/match my music collection to itunes match on one PC and all worked fine and it shows the embedded artworks of the local files. The problem is that if i turn on itunes match on a remote machine, the songs play fine from the cloud, BUT all of the artwork/covers are missing? I tried the "automatically download artwork option" but nothing changes. I also tried "updating itunes match" and again no artwork.
The only way i cold fix this is to manually download a single track of a each album? Is this the expected behaviour?
Does this mean apply's iCloud/match service is not able to automatically pull the embedded album artwork from icloud files, without having a local physical copy once? I used googles music service before and there cloud player never had this problem at all.
So whats going on, why is artwork handling in itunes match so finicky and broken?

It gets even more stupid.
After downloading the first track of each album, the album artwork in iTunes shows up, but only for files that where originally "uploaded" and not "matched". The matched files do not have any artwork, since itunes recognizes them not by album. if i now try to "download artwork" it uses the album to whatever it was matched. So if the same song is only matched to s single in the iTunes store it will use this artwork, regardless of the org. files having correct embedded artwork for the album.
So what you have to-do is to either micro manage your missing artworks on a device basis or have a single track not "matched" to itunes than can be used as cover resource on all devices.
This system is so buggy and flawed that its beyond believe. All iTunes would have to actually do is to get the embedded "correct" artwork of a album from a track, than upload and store this information in iClound and sync this artwork database across all devices.
What a waste of time so far using iCloud and simply trying to get working artworks for perfectly tagged mp3 files.

Help! Trying to add artwork to my imported dvds but it's not working!

I have been steadily transferring my dvds to itunes for the last few weeks, and have not had a problem adding artwork until now. I always sort them into genre and add the artwork at the same time, but for some reason when I click okay it moves the movie to the right section but no artwork appears, and when I go to add it again the artwork button is disabled- it's there, but I can't click it. I don't know how else to add artwork to it so if anyone has any ideas that would be appreciated!

I am not sure I can help with the automatic artwork download as I haven't seen that problem before. The automatic download it is an imperfect system. It does make mistakes, particularly on older movies and CD's. The other way to get artwork is manually adding a picture to the info section for each movie.
1) Use a search engine to find a desireable picture of appropriate size. Usually typing in the movie/album name is enough to give you many proper choices.
2) Copy the picture from it's source.
3) Within iTunes, right-click on the movie/album with the missing artwork and select GET INFO.
4) The farthest right tab is labeled "artwork". Select it. Then paste your found picture into the box. Click OK.
Obviously this takes a little work, it is the only way aorund improper artwork and may serve as a temporary work-around for you.
*iTunes may think is has already downloaded the artwork, and thus won't let you do it again. Check the "artwork" tab under GET INFO to see if there is a picture there. Also check to see if the "clear albumn artwork" choice is available (right-click on movie). You could clear and try again.

I had my first longform project completed in FCPX and tried sending it to Compressor 4 and got this result over and over again.

Sorry to say I've not had any success in getting Compressor 4 to work. I've tried every suggestion mentioned earlier on this topic to no avail. Compressor 4 is dead in the water. On the last two projects I had to go back to Compressor 3.x.xx to complete the projects. The only hint that I have of wha may have happened concerns something I did early on. When I bought this computer I decided to replace the hard drive with a larger one. Since I already had my software up and working on the drive that came with the computer I decided to clone everything to the new larger drive. As I recall, Compressor 4 worked on the original drive but it doesn't work on this cloned version. So maybe there is a relationship there. I haven't had a chance yet to reinstall my old drive and see if C 4 works on it. If it does work then I know the source of the problem but not how to fix it on the new drive. Did you do anything like cloning your drive recently too? It's just a thought and may not lead anywhere but later this week when I catch a break I'll give the old drive a try and will post my results.

I'm SO sorry, sure it's been asked 100 times. New version on itunes...

I'm kinda ipod challenged. I bought on, got all my songs on it, computer crashed.
So after I reformated, I got the newer version of itunes because I can't remember the one I had before. But now it's telling me I can only have 1 library and I must delete and sync with my NEW library. I dont want to lose all the song that are already on my ipod!
How do I get around it?

hey, so the only way that i know of to set itunes to not auto-update ur ipod with ur new library is to change this "auto0sync" function from the ipod settings menu within itunes. unfortunately the ipod settings menu can only be brought up by plugging in ur ipod. i set it not to auto-update when i first got my ipod. there may be another way... sorry i couldnt b more helpful

Album artworks in disorder

Hi,
I want to know why is it that when I put on itunes the album artwork to each song then it does not appear on ipod the way I put them? For example, when I listen to a Pink Floyd song, instead of having the correct album artwork displayed on screen, I have for example the artwork of a Metallica album on the pink floyd song (?!?!?!? why???) (only the artworks are wrong, all the other info concerning artist, song or name of the album is correct)
Sometimes I update the artwork from itunes over and over again and then update the ipod, and things get slightly into order. But when I add new songs with more artworks everything is a mess again.
So I want to know why and how can I solve this problem with album artworks.

Plug in the iPod, uncheck the box to show artwork on the iPod then sync the iPod (all artwork will be removed from the iPod).
When it is done, reselect that check box and sync the iPod again (all artwork added to iPod).
This often times clears up display issue with artwork on the iPod.

Is it possible to turn off the updates that make your iphone need to be activated again? Because you need wifi in order to activate and sometimes I don't have wifi so my iphone becomes unusable untill I get wifi again.

I'm sorry but it says 8.1.2 on my phone when I check for the info about the software.
The issue I have is that on random moments it asks me to activate my phone ( I think after an update or some kind ) but sometimes I have no access to wifi to activate it so I was wondering if I could make that stop?
