Agent configuration - new EM server

Hi,
I've just reinstalled my GRID EM onto a new server. Is it possible to reconfigure the agents to use this new EM, or is the only way to re-install them as well?
Thanks,
Thom

To answer my own question...
I just edited the emd.properties file and restarted the agent - seemed to work OK.

  • Proper Configuration of DNS server for our new branch office

    Hi All,
Our new office will setup a new branch office with a routed network link to our HO. In HO, we have 2 domain controllers configured as AD and DNS just for fail over scenarios.
How will we configure the DNS server of our 3rd domain controller which we will placed in the new branch office. What would be the proper settings of DNS server integrated to AD to work well especially to have a successful replication and communication to
the 2 DC's located in HO?

    Hi,
If you have multiple DC's in that site i would recommend using any of the partner DC's IP addresses as preferred one and secondary DNS IP to pointing to itself. Dont use loopback addresses configure it with actual IP addresses.
If you have only one server in branch office point itself as the primary DNS and HO DC as secondary and tertiary.
Make sure that all clients in your branch site are pointing to the branch DC as primary DNS server.

    Rafic

    Hi guys,

Every components were configured properly but at the time of configuration of work-space in configurator Database connection is pointing towards Planning database.

  • CCMS configuration for historical data of a new application server

Out CI & app servers are configured in CCMS before I joined the team. Around months back a new application server added but it seems for that CCMS is not capturing histrorical data.
In ST6N, I get all app servers name including the new one. When I click on the new app server and click on Snapshot then detailed information for CPU,memory etc are displayed but when I click on resources under "Previous hours" or "History" to get CPU,memory etc details then an error pop-up is displayed i.e. "No Performance MTEs  availbale for category CPU" or "No Performance MTEs availbale for category MEM" [availbale <- SAP typo].
How to make sure that we can get previous hours and as well historical cpu, memory use informations ?

Hi, the data you are trying to see is collected by saposcol.
    1) Log on to the specific application server and verify that everything is working correctly with saposcol:
    ST06->Operating System Collector->Status
    ST06->Operating System Collector->Available days
    ST06->Operating System Collector->Log file.
    2) Installing an additional App server should have configured the statistical data setup automatically:
ST03N - check if the the app server is listed.
    ST03N->Collector->Performance Monitor collector->Log
    3) Check transaction RZ03 that there are no conflics in the Operation Mode.
    4) Run the program RSCOLL00 manually on that app server.
This should give you a starting point .....

  • Configuring oracle management server 9i using create new repository option

    hi ,
i am trying to install oracle management server using the the option "create new repository "on a system on which oracle database is already installed .after installing oracle management server "configuration assistant appears .the second option is to select a database repository .
first of all can i select the database that was prevouisly installed on my system
or do i need to create a new database before installing oracle management server. but as i did not install any database for oracle management server before i am trying to select the database that was previuosly installed on the system but i gave me a tns error that it could not resolve the service name .after that i noticed that the oms listerner was up and registered . i am trying to stop this listener and start the database listerner so that it may not give me this error.can some one help me out configuring oracle management server on a system creating a new repository

I suggest you to create a different database for the OMS repository. This database can be used for other tools that may require a repository, such as recovery manager.
On the connectivity issue, I suggest you to verify your listener is up and running and it doesn't need to have the instance registered, as of course, it is a new instance. Make sure it is started. For additional troubleshooting on the connectivity issue, you may post the specific tns-12XXX error message displayed.

    Kaiyin,
You will get the API error when you don't have a corresponding agent name on
the policy server. Add SM_WLS_AGENT (realm agent) or run the
SmPolicyConfigTool provided with the agent. There is a netegrity newsgroup
that you have the option of posting to as well.

  • Manually starting Intelligent Agent Configuration Assistant and HTTP Listener

I have installed Oracle 9i on Solaris 8 and it stopped with an "Out of Memory" error during the Starter Database creation. I have fixed the memory problem and have now manually started the Database Configuration Assistant manually and managed to install a new database. Now I am trying to start the Intelligent Agent Configuration Assistant and the Apache HTTP Listener, but I cannot find out how to do this so that I can continue on with and complete the installation process from where I left off.
Do anyone know how to do this? I would appreciate any help that anyone can give.
    Thanks
    Anthony

Lets start with what product you are installing and why. An Oracle database installation, in and of itself, does not install an HTTP server.
Of course one might also wonder why you are, just now, installing software so old it is in desupport.

  • Policy Agent on Sun Application Server 9.1

I'm attempting to deploy the Access Manager Policy Agent to Sun Application Server 9.1 and I'm running into some issues.
    Environment:
amhost - Access Manager 7.0 on Sun Webserver can do both http and https

If everything is set to http:
When i attempt to access a simple servlet application (Headersnooper) I am redirected the the access manager server and when authentication is successful I see the browser attempting to redirect back to the application server and I see the following error in the Policy Agent debug logs amJAXRPC:

Why would it think to attempt to connect to https when everything in the agent is configured for http?
Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated.

    Hi,
One thing that could help is to look at the info in the agent logs, first increase Debug Logging Level, then restart the agent server and click thru your app, then look in agent runtime logs which should have more descriptive errors. For more detail on how to do this, try http://wikis.sun.com/display/OpenSSO/GlassFishAgentTrouble#GlassFishAgentTrouble-generaltips
You could look on this page, which is mostly based on GlassFish server but could help for other servers as well.
    http://wikis.sun.com/display/OpenSSO/GlassFishAgentTrouble
I have not installed either of the policy agents you mentioned. But with some of the other agents, like the Sun App server 9 (GlassFish) agent, it comes with a sample application, and I find that this is the best way to ensure your setup is good and you are following all steps etc. Once sample app is up, you can try your own apps with confidence.
Since you already have the SJSAS 9 installed, maybe you could create a new domain and download/install the SJSAS 9 policy agent on the new domain. Then try out the sample app?
Or if those other agents have a sample app then try it out.
    hth,
    Sean

  • LDAP is not working on new Web Server

Hi, I configured LDAP authentication and it was working fine. After this I installed a new web server. I copied the security certificate etc ( copied everything from other web server) onto new webserver. When I try to login into Infoview or CMC then I get error message "Security plugin error: Failed to set parameters on plugin" from the new web server. Its working fine from the old web servers.
Not sure what else I have to do now as I have done the same thing on old servers in the past.
We are on BOXI R2 SP3 with web server on IIS 6.0. We have three web servers  and 3 processing servers ( with all services) in cluster env.
    Thanks,

I am sorry I got confused with Pure Enterise authentication. I should have referred to my notes. I apologize for this. Web application server is involved in communicating to LDAP. Below is the process
    1) User logs into the application
    2) Web application server security plugin sends credential to LDAP directory
    3) LDAP directory authenticate users.
    4) Web application server's security plugin sends users credential to LDAP
    5) CMS requests user and group info from LDAP
    6) The LDAP returns this information to CMS Security plugin
    7) CMS will grant access if users is member of mapped group
    8) If access is granted then both CMS and WAS plugin create a session
    9) The WAS sends an enterprise session token to user's browser
I was referring to login into Infoview using LDAP.
    Thanks,

  • New Mail server setup

    Greetings,
I need some pro's cons, Ideas taunts and general whaddia thinks.
Setting up a new mail server. dpG5 xserve w/ 10,000 rpm drives
my thoughts are to take the user information off the machine to a second G5 xserve running as an ODM.
I thought about splitting IMAP/pop services to another box. keeping my primary SMTP Spam/AV away from cyrus, relaying inbound messages to the IMAP server.
    so I would have
    ODM.mydomain
    SMTP1.mydomain
    IMAP1.mydomain
-- Does anyone see any performance or configuration hick ups here?
    now comes the ugly question.
How do I set up each smtp server. the imap server is still going to have to run smtp to deliver and recieve delivery of messages. but I need them to answer for mydomain, not host1.mydomain. I'm a little foggy on what comes first
    --j

There are multiple ways of achieving this.
The simplest is for the servers to deliver via smtp to each other.
    So (very very simplified):
Since you said you use OD, I assume all servers will refer to your OD master for user account details.
    Server 1 (Filter)
    Postfix & amavisd & ClamAV & spamassassin
main.cf and master.cf should be configured like you are used to now except that you only want to be able to send to the content filter and nowhere else.
In amavisd.conf uncomment and change IP (to IP of SMTP/IMAP server) of this line:
    $forward_method = 'smtp:127.0.0.1:10025';
No relay settings needed, because you want mail to go the filter first and not to another SMTP server.
    Server 2 (Mail Stores)
    Postfix & Cyrus
main.cf and master.cf should be configured like you are used to now except that you do not want any kind of filtering anymore. Also set to accept only from Server 1 (since it should not accept incoming mail from the outside world directly)
    Server 3 (Outgoing SMTP)
    Postfix
main.cf and master.cf should be configured like you are used to now except that you do not need to accept incoming mail. Also no filtering needed (unless you want to scan outgoing mail)
    Mail clients:
Point incoming to Server 2 and outgoing to Server 3
That's pretty much it. I know it's not a walkthrough , but then again this kind of setup is better fully understood rather than copied step-by-step.
Let me know if you need anything else.
    Alex
    P.S.
-Optionally you could use Server 3 as a secondary MX for backup reasons.
-For most Postfix settings see : http://www.postfix.org/postconf.5.html
-All of this can be further improved with firewall rules

  • Error when creating a new Reports Server instance

    Hi,
I have tried to create and start a new reports server instance using the following method:
1- Creating the report server instance:

    2- Stopping the OPMN:

    5- Starting the OPMN again:
    *%ORACLEHOME%\opmn\bin\opmnctl startall*
However, when I try to start the OPMN again, I receive the following error:
    opmn id="##########:6200 5 of 6 processes started

Error --> Process (pid=6888) failed to start a managed process after the maximum retry limit.
    Log: %ORACLEHOME%\opmn\logs\%newrepserver%~ReportsServer~%newrepserver%
Any ideas as to why the reports server instance cannot be started?
I have tried rebooting the server many times and have recreated other reports server instances but with no luck.
    Many thanks in advance,
    Chris

On Windows this is caused most often by the temporary directory setting.
Change the temporary directory to some fixed directory writable by anybody, e.g. "C:\temp".
    Change this in:
    Registry entry: hkey_local_machine\software\oracle\key_<oashome>\REPORTS_TMP
<oashome>\opmn\conf\opmn.xml: search for environment variable TEMP (under ias-instance)
    Good luck!

  • Cannot add a New Essbase server into the EAS Console

    Hi can someone assist me...........
I have installed Essbase on a new / additional server (that all went rather well, its not hard just pressing NEXT, NEXT, NEXT).
I then used a essadmin account to configure, i have to say its not the same as the other essbase server (so i am wondering if this was the start of my problems)!!. I did not use the same essadmin as the password is unknown its not known and the orginal installation was not recorded. I do however know and used the admin account for the shared services.
I then logged into EAS Console (single instance of the EAS, with a plan to add 3 new essbase servers to this console over the next couple of days.) i added the new essbase server, then externalised and all was happy with the world. SUCCESS :-)
I closed EAS, and went back in and thats where the fun started, it then stated that it could not connect and i recieved the invalid login message in essbase. I have read some forums and followed the advise of going into Shared Services and manually removing the new essbase server registry under projects, cleared down and replaced the essbase.sec file etc etc to the originals and stop/started the services.
So can anyone help on what my next steps should be?, I don't want to run off and re-register again via the console for shared services if i need to use the original essadmin password in my configuration. Any help will be gratefully recieved.
