I recently allowed the software update and the installation of java 7 has disabled a key task I need for my business, specifically being able to view 360 degree tours that I create.
Slightly different OS and update, but I was able to use Pacifist to install the java Update 15 for mac os 10.6 after Update 16 had screwed up some business-critical sw of ours. You will need to go to the downloads site and download the previous update, and then use Pacifist to re-install the earlier version.

This might or might not actually work -- it depends entirely upon the details of the updates, and you could end up in some weird jumble of pieces-of-multiple-updates all together... Java updates are patches, not a full copy of the software, so to really go back you have to start from the beginning and apply the updates in order. In the case of Update 16, we were lucky in that whatever was screwing up our program was changed in both Update 15 and Update 16, so writing the Update 15 back overtop of 16 fixed our problem. -
Contribute 3 has disabled connection
I have been using on a laptop OSX 10.3.9 for a couple of
years no problem. I just added to a desktop OSX 10.5.4 and ignored
the register since this is registered. Worked at first but has
stopped. Contribute no longer works on either computer. FTP is
working. Older computer says Contribute has disabled your
connection to this website. Home page is blank and shows that page
can be edited. Cant see a blasted thing.
The newer computer shows the spinning beach ball though some
of the page loads first. Under Contribute>my connections the
computer icon has a red line through it.
I understand I can use on two computers, but only one at a
time. Cannot figure out how to set this up. Tech support no longer
supports this software.Contribute 4 is supported. I bought Contribute 3 when it was
a Macromedia product, which may be why it's not supported. It's a
way to force everyone to go to 4.
You are suggesting a patch on OSX 10.5 is the problem? I am
using Contribute 3 with 10.3 as well and that has stopped working
too. This aspect is not an OSX 10.5 patch. I hate it when there is
more than one thing gone wrong.
I am supposed to be able to have installed on both, but cant
figure out how it's supposed to work. I am abiding by the
EULA. -

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Does anyone know what is this mean and how to fix this?
I checked the records and they are not being replicated, and the connection to the subscriber are not active for some reason; but I don't know how to fix it.

Philly Database developerIt basically means that the replication agent has not logged a status message back to the replication subsystem.
Basically you can't stop it, and these messages let you know if the agent has hung.
However you can delay the time before the subsystem will report this message. Do this by the following query - this will delay this message to 10 minutes from the default of 5 minutes. I have set this to days when replicating over ISDN/Phone lines.

Suddnly stop merge replication. transaction cannot replicated from publiser to sunscriber.
I tried to set heartbeat_interval= 5 but still not working..
The replication agent has not logged a progress message in 5 minutes. This might indicate an unresponsive agent or high system activity. Verify that records are being replicated to the destination and that connections to the Subscriber, Publisher, and Distributor
are still active.
What is the problem with merge replication and why this erroe comes..

please give me a solutionRun profiler on the subscriber to see what the merge agent is doing there. It is possible that there is some blocking that is causing the agent to hang. You might want to set the heartbeat to 10 or higher. The default is IIRC 5.

How do I use airport utillity with Time Capsule(or any airport extreme) over the internet without mobile me? iCloud has disabled this function. The mac's that I have not upgraded to icloud still see my routers over the internet with mobile me enabled. Are these routers obsolete now or will there be a firmware update to use icloud?

My colleague recently synched his phone and now has a full keyboard on the lock screen. My lock screen keypad is set up like phone keys (alphanumeric). He's wondering why his is different, and he also now cannot unlock it. Anyone have this happen? He came to me yesterday and I noticed that his iPhone 4 still had old software (version in the 4's), so I advised him that he needed to synch it up to get the iOS 5.1.1 version. He synched and now can't get back in. He was entering his passcode on the lock screen (which wasn't taking) and I noted to him that his screen didn't look like mine. Anyone know how to fix this issue, or does he have to do a full restore?
He has set up a complex password instead of a simple passcode for his phone. If he doesn't know what it is, he'll have to restore. There is no way around a forgotten passcode.

This was the last Java update for Leopard:

J2SE 1.4.2 is no longer being updated to fix bugs or security issues and remains disabled by default in this update. Support for out-of-process Java applets on Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard has been removed with this update.
