Agent installed.. but not visible in Grid Control

Hello guys,
i have installed a new Oracle Grid Control (OMS with new database/repository) and upgraded it to 10.2.0.4.
After that i have installed a Oracle Grid control agent 10.2.0.4 agent on a host and configured it.. but the host is not visible in the Oracle Grid control.
The agent itself seems to work.
UPDATE: The problem is solved.. it was described in metalinknote #389528.1... the problem was that after the upgrade to 10.2.0.4 the secure configuration on the OMS was corrupted.
Regards
Stefan

I got the same error and as mentioned on the metalink note I fixed the problem.
however, on target tab of EM if I search clicking on the button ADD it is still dont finding the agent on the another host.
everythin seems to be ok....
any tips friends ?

  • Programs installed but not visible in application folder

I am having a strange problem.  Only a few of my programs are showing up in the application folder.  If I search for the programs using the finder window they are there and the path at the bottom of the finder window shows they are in applications,  and can be used but they just are not visible in the application folder (root folder).
Any suggestions how I can make these programs visible.
    Thanks

    Try this as a start:
Enable Finder to Show Invisible Files and Folders
Open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder.  At the prompt enter or paste the following command line then press RETURN.
    defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
    killall Finder
To turn off the display of invisible files and folders enter or paste the following command line and press RETURN.
    defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE
    killall Finder
Alternatively you can use one of the numerous third-party utilities such as TinkerTool or ShowHideInvisibleFiles - VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
Do both items. Sometimes simply setting the Finder to show invisible files then turning off the option will make those invisible applications reappear. Sometimes it doesn't work. In that case you can try the following:
    1. Enable the Finder to display invisible files. Leave the Terminal active.
    2. Enter the following command line in the Terminal
    sudo chflags -R nohidden
Put a space after "nohidden", select all the invisible applications you could not see and drag the selection into the Terminal window. Press RETURN. You will be prompted for your admin password. Enter it. It will not be echoed. Press RETURN.
    3. Disable the Finder's display of invisible files.

  • I have software trying to install but not visible until I shut down

When I shut down, just prior to the screen going blank, there is a message which is visible for just a second or so which looks like the install software message. I have tried to hit the "abort" button but I'm not fast enough. Is there somewhere I can locate this and abort it?

It is possible you have adware installed on your Mac.  Maybe Genieo, or something else.
You might want to visit AdwareMedic <http://www.adwaremedic.com/index.php> and TheSafeMac <http://www.thesafemac.com/>
If those sites do not help, you could try posting the output from EtreCheck that might tell the forum what 3rd party additions have been installed that might be causing your problem.

  • X11 is installed, but not visible in applications/utilities

    Hello y'all
everything points to the fact that x11 is installed on my new imac however it is not showing up in /applications/utilities.
It is not an option on the startup disk(because it is already there?)
Older versions won't install because it cites that a newer version exists.
I am starting to get that bad logic twitch in the side of my face.
    Please help
    Rich

This cleared up my install problems with x11, it turns out I had not installed after all.

    Hello,
Here are some directions I typed-up to install X11 using two different methods in OS X 10.4 and 10.3. Refer to the appropriate section for the installation method you would like.
    To install X11 on OS X 10.4:
    Option 1
Install from the installer on your disk.
These directions have been verified to work for both the OEM / Grey 10.4.x disks that come with your computer and the retail boxed version of OS X 10.4.x.
For the OEM / Grey disks that came with your computer, insert the System Restore disk that came with your computer (Disk 1).
For the Retail boxed version of OS X, just insert the black install DVD.
With that done, continue with the directions below.
The disk you inserted should open up automatically on your desktop, and display the contents of that disk.
Scroll down to the icon that says "Optional Installs". Double-click on that icon to start the installer.
When the Installer opens-up, you'll see a welcome screen. Now, click "Continue".
Next, you'll see a license agreement. Read and Accept it to proceed (Click "Continue").
Next, you'll select your "Destination" drive. Choose your main hard drive (the one with OS X installed on it), and click "Continue".
Now, you'll see a "Custom Install" screen.
    Make sure everything is unchecked.
Now, click on the sideways triangle next to "Applications".
You'll now see a list drop down. In that list, you'll see X11.
Put a check-mark in the box for X11.
    Click "Install".
You'll be prompted for your administrator password for OS X. Enter that password now, and click "OK".
You'll now be presented with the installer screen. Just wait for it to finish installing.
It will then move to an "Optimizing System Performance" screen. Wait for that to finish.
You'll then be told: "The software was successfully installed".
    Now, click on "Close".
You're done. X11 is now installed and ready to use.
    Option 2
    Manual Install
These directions have been verified to work for both the OEM / Grey 10.4.x disks that come with your computer and the retail boxed version of OS X 10.4.x.
For the OEM / Grey disks that came with your computer, insert the System Restore disk that came with your computer (Disk 1).
For the Retail boxed version of OS X, just insert the black install DVD.
With that done, continue with the directions below.
The disk you inserted should open up automatically on your desktop, and display the contents of that disk.
Scroll down to the folder that says "System". Double-click on that icon to open the folder.
Now, in that folder scroll down to the folder that says "Installation". Double-click on that icon to open the folder.
Now, in that folder scroll down to the folder that says "Packages". Double-click on that icon to open the folder.
Now, in that folder scroll down to the icon that says "X11User.pkg". Double-click on that icon to start the installer.
    Now, the installer will launch.
You'll be presented with a screen that says: "Welcome to the X11 Installer".
And, a prompt that says "This package contains a program that determines if the software can be installed. Are you sure you want to continue?".
Now, click on the "Continue Button".
Now that the prompt is gone, click on the "Continue" Button in the main X11 Installer screen to continue.
Next, you'll see a license agreement. Read and Accept it to proceed (Click "Continue").
You'll now be specifically asked to either "Disagree" or "Agree". Click on the "Agree" button if you want to proceed.
Next, you'll select your "Destination" drive. Choose your main hard drive (the one with OS X installed on it), and click "Continue".
You'll now be looking at the "Easy Install on 'Hard Drive'" screen. Where it says "Hard Drive" your computer will say whatever your hard drive is named.
    Click "Install" to proceed.
So, there you go. That's the two basic methods to install X11 on your Mac OS X 10.4 system.
Now, if you have OS X 10.3.x, then the method is similar. But, the installer is in a slightly different location.
    For OS 10.3.x:
    Manual Install
These directions have been verified to work for both the OEM / Grey 10.3.x disks that come with your computer and the retail boxed version of OS X 10.3.x.
For the OEM / Grey disks that came with your computer, insert the System Restore disk that came with your computer (Disk 1).
For the Retail boxed version of OS X, just insert the install DVD.
With that done, continue with the directions below.
The disk you inserted should open up automatically on your desktop, and display the contents of that disk.
Scroll down to the folder that says "Welcome to Mac OS X". Double-click on that icon to open the folder.
Now, in that folder scroll down to the folder that says "Optional Installs". Double-click on that icon to open the folder.
Now, in that folder scroll down to the icon that says "BSD Subsystem". Right-click or "Control"-Click on that icon to bring-up the contextual menu. Now, choose either "Show Original" or "Show Package Contents" (One of those options will appear in the contextual menu. Pick the one you see).
The package's contents will now be opened in a new folder on your screen.
I hope that you find this lengthy tutorial helpful.
I spent a lot of time putting it together. I sat down with all my disks and computers, and tinkered while writing this. So, everything should be accurate. I wrote each line as I did it on the computer.
Hopefully this detailed set of directions will help you to get X11 installed on your computer.
Let me know if you have other questions.
    I hope this helps.

Has anyone seen this. It seems to happen with ARD 3, have not seen this in ARD 2.
I go to the Install Packages on Target Computers, put in: 10.4.7 Combo (for the correct CPU, PPC or Intel), security updates, QT 7.1.2, etc.
Push it to Macs I can connect to, observe and control.
The progress bar copies the files (in some instances it does not) and then it just hangs there, bar does not move, Installs never finish, not good, very odd.

Is it the same clients that have the problem every time? Are those clients doing anything cpu intensive? Have you tried rebooting the affected clients?
Maybe try a smaller package on those clients.

I got a new laptop Windows 7.  I installed Blackberry Desktop apparently successfully.  However, doesn't appear on start menu nor desktop.

    Hey tgcraighead,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
After the installation did you restart the computer?  If you go into Control Panel>Programs and Features do you see BlackBerry Desktop Software listed in the applications?
Did you have a previous version of BlackBerry Desktop Software installed?
I look forward to your reply.
    Cheers.

I previously had PS CS5 Trial installed but removed it using both Control Panel Programs and deleting all files from the CS5 directory on Program Files.  I then installed a purchased product from Adobe disc using the serial number on the case.  But when I try to launch it, I get a screen headed Photoshop CS5 Extended Trial.  It asks for the serial number and says that my trial has expired.  It rejects the serial number from the Adobe case saying "This Serial Number is not valid for this product".  It thinks that I still have the expired Trial Version installed.  How do I convince it (the program) that the Trial Version is long gone and the currently installed product was installed with a valid and accepted serial number????

Let me know how it goes. Go into your Adobe account and register your serial number asap.

  • Installed but not found on computer

I've successfully installed the latest 10.1 for my 64-bit laptop with Windows 7.  A check by Adobe confirms that it was properly installed, and that I have the correct version for my computer.
AND YET, there is no icon for it anywhere, it doesn't come up on my list of Programs, when I enter "Adobe Flash Player" in the search bar it shows no such program, and when I try to play a FLV file, it won't give me Flash Player as an option. So..... I have it on my computer, but I apparently am not allowed to see it or access it?
I've uninstalled and re-installed several times, and cannot for the life of me figure out what the problem is.  Any help for this maddening situation?

    Hi,
Yes, I read his comments and I made sure Shockwave Flash Object was enabled in IE as he suggested. I am trying to make a flip book. One of the posts here in the forum said to make a SWF file, which I did. But now I can't figure out how to do anything with it. I thought Flash Reader was the right program to look at it, but maybe I'm wrong? Maybe I need Flash itself? The flip book thing has me pretty frustrated and confused. All the sites and software I've tried are poor quality. I was hoping I could figure out how to do it through Adobe to get better quality.

Re: Installed but not found on computer
Hi, Flash Player is a browser plugin, not a stand alone Player. You should have Shockwave Flash Object in add ons in IE and make sure it is enabled.
Your Flash files are in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
You may want the Adobe Media Player:http://www.adobe.com/products/mediaplayer/

How can I change the default pdf reader from the installed (but not yet registered) Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro to Adobe Reader XI? It worked! Thank you so much.
I'd opened file with the 'Open with' feature then clicking Adobe Reader,

    Hi Anne,
Your version of Safari is still supported.  Please see Adobe Flash Player | Tech specs for supported OS and browsers.
If the Flash Player plugin is in the Plug-ins (disabled) folder it's because it's an older version that Apple has disabled in Safari.  This has nothing to do with whether or not Flash Player supports the browser.
I'm not sure what you mean by "when i click on flash player itself i am told there is no application to open it."  Flash Player.plugin only works in the browser to view Flash content in the browser.  The plugin does not open files outside of the browser.  If you have SWF files you'd like to view outside of the browser, then you'll need the Flash Player projector. However, based on your previous comments this doesn't appear to be what you are trying to do.
Google Chrome does embed Flash Player in it, while Firefox does not.   Mozilla has also recently started blocking older versions of Flash Player in Firefox similar to what Apple is doing in Safari.
Following the 'clean install' instructions should result in you having the latest version of Flash Player installed that will not be blocked by the browser.

Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry.
    See "Corrupt extension files": http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_install_themes_or_extensions

Is there a problem of SQL  Server 2005?!
Is it because of the nature of the machine (server or client machine)?
Is there a problem of configuration (Operating System)?  I'm using Windows XP but the other machine is using Windows 2000.
would somebody have an idea or suggestion?
    Thank you in advance

    HI Haifa,
When the second form opens (but doesn't appear on screen) choose Windows--Cascade from the top menu. Sometimes a form will open outside the viewable area in the SBO client so choosing this menu option will reset it.
