VMM Agent install fails on Windows Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V
Hi,
We are unable to install VMM 2012 R2 agent on Windows Server 2012 R2 server either from VMM console or manually on the hyper-v server.
Error on VMM Console:
Error (410)
Agent installation failed on chsicoecdh03.casper.com.
Fatal error during installation (0x80070643)
Recommended Action
Try the operation again. If the problem persists, install the agent locally and then add the managed computer.

Also, I suspect may be issue with WMI then checked WMI repository and it is in consistent state. winmgmt /verifyrepository.
Please help on this issue.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Kumaresan LakshmananSo, I've managed to research this some more since Thursday and I've come to the conclusion that Hyper-V does a horrible job of supporting Qualcomm NIC cards. That's the only thing I can conclude as far as where the issue is originating. I've read many
post and walkthroughs but nothing that has helped. The issue wasn't with any settings in the domain controller. The issue was that there really is a slow connection originating at the domain controller that is a VM and has network connectivity through the
virtual switch from Hyper-V. So, next question is, how do I get the DC to have better connectivity through the NIC that Hyper-V won't give it? If hyper-v would allow passthrough, this would be so much simpler. VM-ware is looking really good at this point.
Im disappointed in MS right now. -

SCOM agent install fails Error 80070035 - the network path was not found
I have deployed SCOM 2012 agents to most servers (2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012R2) in our estate but some either fail to install or are not monitored. I assume the two problems are related, but for now I am concentrating on the servers that fail completely.
Installation is from the Discovery Wizard and I have about 20 servers that fail of various server versions.
So looking at one specific server that is failing to install the agent - a 2008 standard service pack 2
The firewall in on and file and printer sharing is enabled for domain, remote administration is enabled for domain
I added a specific rule to allow TCP 5723 and 5724
DCOM is enabled
I can Ping the target server from the SCOM server by both name and FQDN - both return the same IP and our DNS server has only one entry for this server
I can browse to the admin share \\server\C$ from the SCOM Server, using the same account that I specify for the agent install that is a domain admin with rights on this server (and on the other servers the agent
did install to) and the server has plenty of disk space available
I am not sure what else to look at so would welcome any ideas
ThanksHi Petro,
I have a Agent installation failure cheat sheet, For your error 80070035 it is said to perform a manual installation.
So i would like to understand which version of SCOM is this ? 2007 R2 or 2012 or 2012 r2 ?
Also check if your agents have the WMI service started and enabled ?
Also if yours is a SCOM 2007 R2 do you have a RMS & MS in your management group ? If yes then Pushing the agent installation from MS may cause such issue. So would suggest you push the installation from RMS.
Also check if your Network connectivity meets the minimum requirement as recommended by SCOM. Below is applicable for Both SCOM 2007 R2 & SCOM 2012 & 2012 R2.
Component A
Component B
Minimum Requirement
Root management server or management server
Agent
64 Kbps
Root management server or management server
Agentless
1024 Kbps
Root management server or management server
Database
256 Kbps
Also check if you have any Anti virus / Firewall which is blocking the install / communication. If yes disabe or add the "Monitoringhost.exe to the safe list or what your feature is.
Check if you have another IP assigned to the NIC card and remove it tempraurly andchecl.
Also post the event logs of the Agents which are in not monitored state for analysis.

This problem occurs if the LockFileTime.txt file is located in the following folder on the remote computer:
%windir%\422C3AB1-32E0-4411-BF66-A84FEEFCC8E2
When you install or remove a management agent, the Operations Manager 2007 management server copies temporary files to the remote computer. One
of these files is named LockFileTime.txt. This lock file is intended to prevent another management server from performing a management agent installation at the same time as the current installation. If the management agent installation is unsuccessful and
if the management server loses connectivity with the remote computer, the temporary files may not be removed. Therefore, the LockFileTime.txt may remain in the folder on the remote computer. When the management server next tries to perform an agent installation,
the management server detects the lock file. Therefore, the management agent installation is unsuccessful.

SCOM 2012 R2 agent upgrade fails crippling agents
Running into a large amount of SCOM agents that are failing the upgrade from 2012 SP1 to R2 and would appreciate any feedback from my SCOM community colleagues. Warning this issue is not for the faint of heart.
Plan:
I am in the process of upgrading 1900 manually installed SCOM 2012 SP1 agents to R2. I am using SCCM to deliver the upgrade using the standard sanctioned upgrade parameters.
Momagent.msi /qn /l*v %SystemDrive%\SCOM2012AgentUpgrade.log AcceptEndUserLicenseAgreement=1
Problem:
I have run into a problem where on a larger group of systems, 165 servers, where the upgrade fails and leaves the agent in a crippled state. At this point the agent cannot be removed cleanly via add remove, nor can a straight install of the agent
be done. What is required is a manual removal of registry keys and then a clean install of the agent can be performed to remediate. This is no problem and I am able to do this. (Note: all other methods of agent removal did not work ie:
Cleanmom.exe utility or add remove)
Task:
Seeing that we need to do agent upgrades in the future it would be great to know why this happened so we can plan for this in the future.
Notes:
Seems like a random sample of servers (2003/2008) with different applications running on them so that doesn't help in narrowing things down.
Looking at the MSI log, I see a common issue among systems that had this problem.

Ok so the obvious is that the installer is looking for original source installation files and not able to find them. What is surprising to me however is that the product references a 32 bit scom agent guid
387306D9-78CE-4E0E-B952-28A50CC8B3EE, however this is a 64 bit machine. Our build process dictates that a 64 bit machine only receive a 64 bit SCOM agent.
Doing a search on this product guid I realized I skipped some other references at the top of the MSI log that might offer some more explanation...

Well that is interesting, seems to me that in the first line the MSI installer reads the OM_OM12_SP1_AGENT_FOUND property and identifies this with a 64 bit agent guid (8B21425D-02F3-4B80-88CE-8F79B320D330), but then appends
the 32 bit guid at the end (387306D9-78CE-4E0E-B952-28A50CC8B3EE). This is the point of my confusion and my suspicion as the cause of the problem I am having.
Concluding thoughts:
Why does the installer seems to first recognizes a 64 bit agent, but then later changes it's property to include a 32 bit agent guid. Could a 32 bit agent have got on this 64 bit server based on the details of this log? Would this
cause my agents to fail the upgrade? I think so, but looking to bounce this over to another fellow SCOM colleague who may have wrestled with this before.
Thanks in advance if you took the time to read this and think about it. Extra points if you have any extra thoughts!

Agent Desktop's agent state toggles between "ready" and "reserved
Hello and thanks for all of your past help. I have a user whos'e Agent Desktop's agent state toggles between "ready" and "reserved when no calls are coming in to he IP Phone 7941 or 7961. Can anyone help?
Thanks, ChetIs the agent's phone actually ringing at all? If not I suspect the IP IVR ports are unable to call the agent. UCCX tries to send a call to the agent so it sends the reserve event to the agent and then tries to send the call to the agent but is failing so it cancels the event flicking the agent back into ready. Perhaps check to make sure that the ports have an appropriate calling search space to call the agent extension. Maybe configure a phone the same as the IVR port and check to see if you can call the agent extension?
Cheers,
Nathan -

I've done multiple installations by silently installing the cloud agent 12c using a response file. However, the configuration portion failed on this one windows 2003 host.
Has anyone seen this? I've searched on metalink and see other problems like TZ, service already exists, incorrect PERL settings etc..but found nothing that helps so far.

PR Overall Release Workflow - Agents Determination Failed
Dear All WF Experts,
I have used the standard workflow WS20000077 for PR Overall Release. I have assigned the agents to the task TS20000159 by position maintained in the Workflow Organizational Management Structure. The agents' names are showing correctly in the task's agent settings.
However, when I execute the workflow, the error 'Agent Determination Failed' for that step (TS20000159). I have checked the agent settings in workflow and SPRO, they look fine. Could anyone please kindly give me advices how to solve this error? Thank you so much.Hi, to all the experts who have helped me all these while,
Thank you very much for spending time helping me to go through this issue.
Yesterday, I ran through the coding for the function module for the rule AC20000026 again. I found out that there is one part of the coding which is causing the failure of determining an agent. The code disregard the company code for overall release of Purchase Requisition while the business requirement involves company codes in every PR created. Thus, by changing that code, the problem is solved.
The snippet of code of function module (ME_REL_GET_RESPONSIBLE):
CASE t16fc-frgwf.
* keine Ermittlung
WHEN space.
RAISE nobody_found.
* Ermittlung ¨¹ber T16fW
WHEN '1'.
IF eban-gsfrg EQ space.
* Einzelpositionsfreigabe Banf
SELECT SINGLE * FROM t16fw WHERE frggr = eban-frggr
AND frgco = rm06b-frgab
AND werks = eban-werks.
ELSE.
* Gesamtfreigabe Banf
SELECT SINGLE * FROM t16fw WHERE frggr = eban-frggr
AND frgco = rm06b-frgab
AND werks = space.
There is always a value in werks in my business scenario...
SELECT SINGLE * FROM t16fw WHERE frggr = eban-frggr
AND frgco = rm06b-frgab
AND werks = space.
So, by changing it to
AND werks = eban-werks
it will work, however, I think it's better to just remove the If statement
IF eban-gsfrg EQ space.
, since it has no effect anymore.
I hope this would give a hint to all the rest who might be facing the same problem as well.
Thank you very much,
YL -

I am attempting to install SCVMM 2012 agent and getting this error:
Error (421)
Agent installation failed on exhpv01.denverwater.org because of a WS-Management configuration error.
Recommended Action
Ensure that the Windows Remote Management service is enabled and running on the server exhpv01.denverwater.org. Additionally, in the Local Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc), navigate to Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows
Remote Management (WinRM), and then ensure that there are no policy settings configured for WinRM Client or WinRM Service.
I have run winrm qc and it shows winrm is configured. I have verified there is no gpo settings configuring winrm.
My runas account is a local administrator on the target host.
I can install the agent local but still cannot add to the SCVMM server.

SCCM Agent install failed - CcmUnloadWmiProviders. Unloading WMI providers
Hi I have a SCCM 2007 SP2 setup in native mode. I have sccm client problem on Exchange server with os 2008 sp2.
SCCM agent was working on this server few months back but it is not working now.
SCCM agent stops at "CcmUnloadWmiProviders. Unloading WMI providers" steps.
I tried below steps to resolve this but no luck.
1. Uninstall sccm setup using command "ccmsetup.exe /uninstall"
2. Run "Cccmclean.exe /all"
3. Run delcert.exe
4. Rename SMSCFG.ini file
5. Run ccmsetup.exe again with source folder path too
6. As agent installation failed i rebuild WMI repository
7. Re run setup but it failed at same step.
8. I rebooted server and rebuild Repository but same error.
Any Idea about problem
If needed i can provide Log files too

Thanks Mike and theinfraguys for your suggestions. My problem is resolved.
The solution which worked for me has no logic but it solved my issue.
When my installation stopps at “CcmUnloadWmiProviders. Unloading WMI providers” step client.msi.log file have incomplete entry as “C:\Windows\SysWOW64\C”
At this time I have to restart WMI service and service will not stop correctly so I have to forcefully kill Winmgmt process and setup will continue.
I have to follow same process for upgrading SCCM client. During client upgrade some time I have to kill ccmexec process too. -

Calling another function if upate statement fails
Hi there,
I have written an update procedure and insert procedure. Is there a way of calling another function if the update statement fails? Thanks a lot for your help.
Chris
procedure update_costing(in_period in DATE,
in_project_id IN VARCHAR2,
in_user_id IN VARCHAR2,
in_thu IN VARCHAR2,
in_fri IN VARCHAR2,
in_sat IN VARCHAR2,
in_sun IN VARCHAR2,
in_mon IN VARCHAR2,
in_tue IN VARCHAR2,
in_wed IN VARCHAR2)
UPDATE TBL_COSTING
SET
HOURS_THU = to_date (in_thu, 'HH24:MI'),
HOURS_FRI = to_date (in_fri, 'HH24:MI'),
HOURS_SAT = to_date (in_sat, 'HH24:MI'),
HOURS_SUN = to_date (in_sun, 'HH24:MI'),
HOURS_MON = to_date (in_mon, 'HH24:MI'),
HOURS_TUE = to_date (in_tue, 'HH24:MI'),
HOURS_WED = to_date (in_wed, 'HH24:MI'),
WHERE PERIOD = in_period
AND PROJECT_ID = in_project_id
AND USER_ID = in_user_id;
EXCEPTION
--CALLL HERE THE INSERT FUNCTION WITH SAME DATAMEMBERS
SOMETHING LIKE THIS---
WHEN others then
insert_costing(in_period, in_project_id, in_user_id ,in_thu,in_fri,in_sat,in_sun,in_mon,in_tue,in_wed ,in_submit);
COMMIT;
END update_costing;begin
UPDATE statement
IF SQL%ROWCOUNT =0
then
INSERT statement|procedure
end if;
end;
/Hi,
i have a simple doubt over here, i read somewhere that cursor attributes can be used only as long as the cursor is open, then in the above case whiel doing the update operation, oracle implicitly will open an cursor and will do the operation and then will close the cursor, then how does SQL%ROWcount works???please revert...

Will CSD shows Agent state as hold
Hi All,
Would like to know if Cisco supervisor desktop can shows agent state as hold?
Issue is that even if the Agent placed the customer on hold, Supervisor desktop will show the Agent in talking state, which will give wrong perception to supervisor
IPCC Version: 7.0(1)
CAD Version: 7.0
CSD version: 7.0
Thanks,
SanHi San,
Within CSD, the hold times are joined together with the average talk (Avg Talking) time of an agent.
So the CSD display will not show when an agents has placed a call on hold
You can find this information in the following document on page 30.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_7_0/user/guide/csd66ug-cm.pdf
Please let me know if this information has helped you.

HI
I am using a rule with responsibilities created through PFAC in the loans workflow.
We upgrading are from 4.6c to ECC.6
The workflow and rule use to work well in 4.6c.
In ECC 6 ,Simulating the rule works fine,but when running the workflow an error occurs.
The workflow runs well in Delopment box and the error is only on production box
I get the error "Agent determination failed" but when i restart the workflow manually through 'SWIA' the worklow complete succefully.
Thanks
RendaniHI,
What points I could think of is:
1. Check if task agent assignment atributes ae maintained properly e.g. General Task etc in PRD system.
2. Responsibilities are in place in PRD system same as Development system.
3. Check if any authorization differerence from DEV system , i.e. Responsibility rule might faile due to lack of authorization to certain user ID.

Akshay
