Agent SW taking focus of typing

Hey,
So we're having issues with the agent software taking the focus of the screen.  The agents are typing in another application and when a call comes in the agent software takes over and they can no longer type in the previous program.  It appears as if setting the software to stealth resolves the issue, but then the work wrap-up does not appear to pop up at all.  is there a way to get the best of both worlds?
where:
1) the agent software does not take over the desktop
2) the wrap up data still does come up.
Bizzarre request, i know.

I am testing from my desk with the 4 modes, however i can't get the work wrapup to come up for me (it must only come up on a queue call as opposed to a directed call when i am "not ready".)
it looks like the agents are minimizing the window (which forces it to pop up and take focus on the desktop), i'll see if keeping it up on the desktop (behind another app even) helps them.

  • 10.3.3 Agent Update Taking Weeks, Only Deploying to ~600 PCs

We're having an issue where deploying the update to the 10.3.3 agent is taking a long time, only a few dozen a day and only about 600 workstations are currently assigned the task. We have a gigabit fiber WAN, so that's not an issue. We have one primary server and 2 satellites. Some update without error, but about half of the ones completed so far, have completed with errors and just 3 failed.
After about a month, we still have 162 devices pending. It looks that only about 15-25 devices a day attempt the update. The task has no restrictions on when or how the system updates, other than selected devices. I'll post a log file or 2 when I get them.
Any ideas on why so few machines are updating?

Are all your workstation being used everyday?

  • Find feature looses focus while typing a phrase, after typing the first space character.

The find feature now looses focus while I am entering a phrase. After entering the first word of a phrase and the space character, the find box will reposition itself to a possible result on the web page on EVERY CHARACTER and I have to reposition the cursor BACK to the find box to enter every subsequent character in the phrase I am searching for. Is there a way I can turn this useless (for me) *feature* off?
I used to be able to key the phrase I was looking for, and the box would turn red as I typed if the phrase did not exist. I would really appreciate being able to do this again. It now seems that Firefox 'jumps the gun' to find the phrase before I have completed typing it in.
    Thanks.

*If you have many extensions then first enable half of the extensions to test which half has the problem.
*Continue to divide the bad half that still has the issue until you find which one is causing it.

  • How to stop a new window from taking focus

    Hello,
I have an application that brings up alerts when an event occurs. The alerts are actually toasts (similar to msn messenger alerts when someone comes online).
My problem is that if I am working on another application, for example notepad, when the alert comes up, it takes the focus away from notepad, which, needless to say, is quite annoying.
Does anybody know how to bring up a new window without letting it take focus?
Thank you very much for your time.
    Adrian Basheer

    Hi again,
I have found out that the problem has to do with calling setVisible( true ). The solution to my problem would be the ability to call setFocuse(true) and not let the window take focus at the same time.
A more detailed explanation of the scenario follows:
The scenario is that my application's main window is hidden, but as it is working in the background, I need so show a message to a user when a certain event happens. This is very much like the status messages in msn messenger.
If I create a new message window and the main application is invisible, the message window will also be invisible. Once I call setVisible( true ) on it, it becomes visible, however it takes focus from anything else.
WIthout the call to setVisible(true), the scenario only works if the main application window is visible, and in this case, the message window does not request focus.
    Thanks,
    Adrian.

  • ITunes keeps taking focus

Just upgraded to iTunes 10.5.2.11 on Windows 7 x64, and every few seconds it keeps checking for gapless tracks. This takes the focus off whatever I'm working on and on to iTunes. It means I cannot listen to music while I am working, because I will be interrupted every 30 seconds or so.
The only work around I have found is to keep Windows Media Player open in the background. But that's a pretty ridiculous solution.
    Thanks.

I think I've solved this, or at least found a good way to stop it happening. If you are using Live Messenger (formerly MSN) and have set it to display the song you are listening to, that is what is causing iTunes to take focus. So, simple solution, stop Live from displaying what song you are listening to!
In Live, got to Tools -> Options
Under Personal, it has your name, then your message, then a checkbox asking if you want to display song details. Uncheck this, then click apply.
That's it. No more stealing focus every 30 seconds, and no more reopening once you have close it.

  • ESSO:  Agent not taking TitleBar properties

ESSO (nee Passlogix) v. 1.1.1.1.5. I'm testing some agent properties but the agent is refusing to respect the overrides that I am putting in the Global Agent Settings and then saving into the HKLM. In particular, the 'Show titlebar button' and 'Provide drop down menu' items. Other items that I have tested like changing the tooltip and displaying the tray icon work as advertised, but the ones related to displaying the titlebar or the menu. Showing the button isn't really an issue because we want it there, but even when I change those settings directly in agent, it doesn't seem to respect the settings in paricular the 'Show dropdown menu' setting. We REALLY want the button to initiate the log on process when that is clicked.
    Thanks,
    James

Apparently this is a new "feature" of 11.1.1.5. If you have the admin console open (which as a developer I always do) the titlebar button and menu will always be present regardless of any setting to the contrary. Shut down the console and it behaves correctly.

  • Apps not taking focus

Anyone else had a problem where apps won't take focus?
Switching to already-running apps, either by clicking on their dock icon or by using cmd-tab chooses that app but doesn't move focus to them.  It's fine if they're in the same space as you currently are, but if they're in a different one, it doesn't move to that space.
Can't remember whether it's always been like this, or whether it started with the first load of updates.
Mission Control in general seems pretty buggy.

    Found the solution.
Mission Control preferences, third check box in the top section needs to be ticked.  Don't know why it was either unticked or I unticked it, and don't know why you'd ever want it to not switch spaces.  Never mind.

  • "When you create a new tab, the Location bar will be focused so you can just start typing the name or address of the website you want to go to" Um...no it doesn't. IN the "improved" Firefox 5, the focus remains on the previously opened tab...very annoying

New tabs are not getting focus. Typing an address after opening a tab opens the address in the first tab, not in the tab that was just opened

Tools > Options > Tabs: [ ] "When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately"
This issue can be caused by an add-on that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • RDS Focus issue with Windows 8.1

This is quite infuriating. I never post on here, so for me to be doing so, trust me, is basically as a last resort. I work for a s/w company, and we have two options w the app- local installation, or cloud, utilizing RDS. Our work database is (obviously)
on the cloud, so I can firsthand feel our customers pain.
Once the RDS session is opened, whether its minimized or not, no matter what you are doing or where you're navigating, after so much time elapses, it steals focus, and i end up half the time inadvertantly overwriting customer info because the cursor shifts
    over, you get the idea.
I researched this for a LONG time. I cannot for the life of me find a fix. I changed the registry key for the foregroundlocktimeout to 30d40 hex, and still no love. Does anyone have ANY other suggestions? Its really making life difficult, but the conundrum
is I HAVE to have it open at all times. Thoughts?

I have exactly the same issue
It has been the same since i installed Win 8.1. just to summarise - very simple
When any Remote Desktop Services (RDS) is active it will assume focus every 60-90 seconds. ie
     reboot computer,
    launch browser,
go to RDS URL an login,
open ANY application (word, excel, Explorere, IE... any of 30 on the server) - so lets say Excel
launch a local app - ANY - say IE, or word or explorer
and within 1 minute while typing in Word - the RDS excel will be in focus and you will be typing into it...
I concur with the OTownMarine above - all the basic fixes have been done, removing  KB2919355
& KB2959977 - caused the same issue as described
THis is not any other service or application except RDS
     - TAKING focus
I do not want to do any more basic testing - but am happy
to do checks or try things that are SPECIFIC to this issue as it is extremely frustrating. However having said this - it would take some one less than 15 mins to test when they apply their mind

  • EA2 - loss of window focus when fetching rows

Whenever Sql Developer has to pull information for Table or View tabs (switching panes or scrollling down in the Data pane), it looks like the window loses focus for 1/2 second, then regains it. This makes scrolling in the Data pane disconcerting, as the titlebar flashes all the time. I don't see any windows pop up or anything, so I don't know what's taking focus away. Scrolling a resultset in the SQL worksheet doesn't have this problem; focus is kept and fetching the next 100 rows is almost instantaneous.

I would be sharing some tech. details to give you an idea on the tradeoff made.
Querying and fetching data from db in all grids in sqldev is being done in background thread. You can see that 2.1 leaves GUI free for interaction, using background threads, in many area's, where 1.5.5 blocked you.
When an operation is done in a background thread we show you a progress component to let you know that it's working and to let you cancel or pause the operation in some cases.
As you can see in the worksheet's grids this progress component is shown in the results tab toolbar and in Task Progress dockable.
In case of all Object Viewer tabs this progress component is a modal dialog. Modal because we don't want the user to interact with the other parts of GUI till the operation in complete. In an ideal world, there should be no modal dialogs..but what you have now is what we could achieve.
The modal progress dialog, though created as soon as the operation starts in a background task, are shown to you after a tiny delay. This delay has been deliberately added since in most cases the operation would finish within seconds or split seconds. If there was no forced delay in the appearance of the dialog, constantly flashing dialogs would be disconcerting. The important thing is that though the dialog is visible after a little delay, or if the operation finishes within this force delay thereby not making this dialog to appear, the GUI is still blocked by an "invisible" modal dialog. Again, this is deliberate since we wan't to prevent interaction with GUI in this usecase, till the background task has finished.
When the operation finishes the Object Viewer tab regains the focus.
Scrolling and thereby incremental fetching in worksheet's grids is smoother because there is no modal dialog there which takes the focus from grid and later sets it back.
This is the tradeoff. As I said, ideally we would not want to show a modal task progress dialog when grid is busy. We'll try to address this in future.

  • Best practice for adding agents based on queue stats

I am looking for some guidance (sanity check really) on the best way for to add agent to a CSQ base on call statistics. Scenario: 20 agents logged in and ready. The first 15 agents take all the calls until the contacts waiting reaches 10, then and only then should the other 5 agents start taking calls.
I appreciate any help or sample scipts on this subject.

You cannot add agents to skills dynamically; however, you can queue the caller into more than one CSQ based on statistics. You would use the Get Reporting Statistics and an If step within the Queued branch of your first Select Resource step. If the condition is met (e.g. Contacts Waiting >= 10) then exectue a second Select Resource step within the queued branch of the first. The contact would then be waiting in both CSQs waiting for an agent.

  • SNMP v2 compatible agent and system resources

    Hi everybody,
I have to provide an SNMP v2 compatible agent (which provides answers to SNMP v2c requests) providing some system resources like cpu consumption, hard disk consumption and disk free space and some specific values through a private MIB.
I have tried to implement a SNMP subagent using the Solaris Enterprise Agents SDK (taking the demo as reference), but contrary with was I thoght, it can not answer when the manager is asking using protocol version 2 (I am some confused, becouse I read that there is no many changes between version 1 and 2c and requests should be compatible).
Additionally, I could not find the MIB where the Solaris sub-agent is providing the requested values (cpu consumption, hard disk consumption and disk free space).
Is there any way to solve this problem? Using maybe the Solaris Enterprise Manager or the Solaris Manager Center? Are they provided with the Solaris version 9 OS?
Thank you very much in advance.
    Best regards,
    Carlos

I bought a tvee 30 last month and had the same problem.  I opened a ticket with BA and below is the fun thread on this subject.      If you scroll to the bottom, you get to read the fun part about sending the unit back in the future for a firmware upgrade....
Customer via Web: 01/02/2012 04:10 PM I have a tvee 30 and I am not able to get it working with any Apple device in my house. I read about the problem with IOS5 and I am anxiously waiting for either BA or Apple to step up and fix this. Seems like a bunch of finger pointing going on right now. Anyway, I have the same problem with an Imac running 10.6.8 Would you expect the same IOS5 problem to affect the Imac?
Response BA Customer Service & Suport via Email 01/05/2012 06:56 AM We are currently working on a firmware upgrade that will address Apple products being that the AD2P system that came with the iOS5 upgrade is the issue not letting the two units connect.
Customer via Web 01/05/2012 07:56 AM Could you estimate when this firmware upgrade will be available? I am trying to decide if I should return the unit because Apple bluetooth connectivity was one of the primary reasons why I bought it. Tnanks
Response BA Customer Service & Suport via Email 01/05/2012 08:27 AM I believe the firmware upgrade will be available within a month or so, and it will correct the issue you are having.
Customer via Web 01/05/2012 09:06 AM how does one get informed about a firmware upgrade availability and how does one implement this on the tvee 30? I don't recall see any sort of USB or other port on the unit where one could install it. thanks
Response BA Customer Service & Suport via Email 01/05/2012 09:49 AM The announcement will be posted on the FAQ's link of the site. The unit will need to be sent in to be upgraded.
