Agentctl dbconsole windows xp

Currently in my services console I only have a siddbconsole service running. Should I have another agent running? When I run agentctl it says no init file ... V$HS_PARAMETER is empty and no initsid.ora file exists ... Also Enterprise Manager says Agent Unreachable; except for port 5533 which is an agent?

Have you tested your Database outside of Enterprise Manager to connect to it?
Check to ensure that your installation complete successfully and Database was created?
Are you are expecting to see rows relating to this problem in V$HS_PARAMETER?
If you are looking for initsid.ora, check under $ORACLE_HOME/database for the init file or spfile with your database name.
From the Windows Services, start the agent associated with your Oracle Home. e.g OracleOra10gAgent

    Hi,
    I have 10.2.0.4 db running on Windows 2003/64
    Dbconsole also has been installed.
    I can not define password for user mail account on the SMTP server. I can define only user name.
    My question is how I can configure mail server/account on the SMTP server that give me send emails from dbconsole.
    mail server lives on the other site.
    Do I need to install local server or something else?
    All users on the SMTP server have passwords.
    I know that I can add password to the sender emuser in OEM and this field exluded in dbconsole notification configuration page.

    Hi,
    On GC console click on Setup and then on Notification Method which is on teh left side menu. Now you will get a form where you can enter the username , password & email address. On this form there is a button on the top righ hand cornor called Test Mail servers. By clicking on this you can test your email alerts through your smtp server.

    Installed 11g db on 4 nodes rac using asm. Installed went well. I cannot bring dbconsole. windows serice is not starting any node.
    Any idea whay can't i start dbconsole service..?

    here what we have changed in the host file...
    Our DNS entry has the following entries : (just giving you 1 machine details)

    our host file has following entries

  • Can't get EM to work on Oracle 10.2.0.5 running on Windows 2008 R2 64 bit

    Could anyone help me?
    I have tried many things and tried lots of htings other forums have suggested but I can't get EM to work.
    The dbconsole windows services hang on startup, if I do a emctl start dbconsole after setting my sid it returns 3 lines of ......., hangs and then gives an error of 1.
    I have dropped and re-created the repository, I can now login to EM on the correct HTTP port listed in my portlist.ini. But its as though it can't see the instance, it shows a status of pending and a java error of java.lang.Exception: Exception in sending Request :: null at the database homepage.
    The log file for EMCA shows the same error to do with not finding files i the OCJJ directory, but I can browse and see all the files through Windows. Coudl this be some java issue? I have the latest versio of Java installed and have tried reinstalling EM using the OUI.
    The error that appears in the log file is listed below, its the same error repeated but referrs to differan't files in the same DIR.
    \OC4J_DBConsole_.HOSTNAME_SID\config\jms.xml in searching for tag jms-server with attribute port

  • OEM in 10g RAC (10.2.0.2.0) has some troubles!![ help]

    Hi, all.
    The database is 2 node RAC (10.2.0.2.0 ) on 32 bit windows 2003 EE SP1.
    The Enterprise Manager is not Grid Control.
    I created a RAC database by using DBCA, and Enterprise Manager was
    installed by default.
    Currently, It seems that the database has some troubles.
    Depending on the cases, OEM sessions go into pending status.
    Now, I stopped "DBconsole windows services" and thus emagent is not running.
    1. Does Enterprise Manager have something to do with ADDM and AWR snapshots?
    2. Are there any Enterprise Manager bugs?
    I have to make a quick report to my boss. :(
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    My understanding is it's better to use Grid Control to manage RAC. From the >documentation, it says database console can be used as well but i haven't used it.Could you give me the html link, which explains the difference between Grid Control and DB console?

  • 11.2.0.3 Windows DB install of dbconsole , repos and service creation error

    Hello all,
    I am stumped at this error when recreating the repository on a windows 2008 server install of the dbconsole for a active database. It seems that it's not able to create or delete the service even after deconfiguring it. any ideas ? the install account is part of the windows admin group locally.

  • Dbconsole does not work after windows domain change

    I have change windows domain of a oracle 10g server when it was already installed. After that, I can not install dbconsole in a new instance. The service starts but the login screen does not appear.
    Does anyone have any idea ?

    Have you tried to start directly with the emctl command directly on the command line?
    What's the error message displayed.
    When you change your domain the asociated configuration file is not matched, and emctl is unable to find it.
    You should try to locate a directory named like this: FullyQualifiedHostName_InstanceName
    Once you have changed the domain, oracle is unable to find a configuration with the domain previously stated. You'll have to reconfigure and may be recreate your repository.
    Commands follow:
    set oracle_sid=YourInstanceName
    emctl stop dbconsole
    emca -repos recreate
    emca -deconfig dbcontrol db
    emca -config dbcontrol db

    I'm connected with a windows user that reside in ora_dba and administrator groups
    I execute all commands with "run as administrator"
    'administrator' is also in ora_dba group
    after installing oracle software I executed dbca to create a new database, but after the creation dbconsole won't run!
    emctl start dbconsole gives me An instance of Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g Database Control is already runningand the service 'oracleDbConsoleorcl' is not started, when I start it mannually it gives me windows could not start the service in local computer
    so now I know that this errors is caused by a running process, it's the 'java.exe : 5520', I kill it and try to start dbconsole again:
    emctl start dbconsole it gives meThe OracleDBConsoleorcl service could not be started
    A service specific error occurred: 2.

    so I tried to recreate the repository but after the creation (successful) the result is the same errors when I want start dbconsole :
    emca -config dbcontrol db -repos recreateYou have specified the following settings

    Local hostname ................ localhost
    Listener ORACLE_HOME ................ d:\app\oracle\database\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1

    can you check the same after setting ORACLE_HOME and LD_LIBRARY_PATH=%ORACLE_HOME%/lib.
    I am not sure how much this is going to help, just try it.

    I see the services started for:

    OracleServiceOracleInstance1
    Next, I created a second database instance (oracleInstance2) and have configured a new service for this database. I am using the same listener as I intend to use one database instance at any point of time.
    However, I got this warning message during configuration:
    "Enterprise manager configuration succeeded with the following warning - Error starting Database Control. Please execute the following command(s).
    1. Set the environment variable ORACLE_UNQNAME to Database unique name.
    2. C:\Oracle\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\bin\emctl.bat start dbconsole"
    To start the new database console, I stopped the previously running DBConsole, OracleDBConsoleOracle1 and started the new DBConsole OracleDBConsoleOracle2 and get the above error.
    When I try to start dbconsole manually using "emctl dbconsole start", it starts OracleDBConsoleOracle1 instead.
    I changed environment variables ORACLE_SID=oracle2 and ORACLE_UNQNAME=oracle2
    What am I missing here. Please help!

    From a command prompt, enter the following:
    set ORACLE_SID=oracle2
    set ORACLE_UNQNAME=oracle2
    set | sort
    net start
    emctl start dbconsolecopy the entire session, commands and full responses, and paste back here.

    Doesn't' matter if you use one instance or 100. The listener was DESIGNED to service multiple instances of multiple versions running from multiple homes. It is nothing but a connection broker. A telephone switchboard, if you will. All you need is a single listener, with the default name of LISTENER, running on the default port of 1521. It will handle all the database instances you care to throw at it. More instances than anyone in their right mind would ever put on a single server. Your server will run out of capacity to host additional instances before the listener runs out of capacity to service them. Especially since your 'server' is really just a toy in the Oracle world.

  • Installting DBCONSOLE on an exisiting 10g Database Windows 2003

    Does anyone know how to install the dbconsole on a windpows 2003 server AFTER the database has already been installed? I tired the OUI and it seemd to work but I did not get the service in my Windows Service list.
    Any thoughts?

    Actually here is what I need:
    I installed 10g (10.1.0) on Windows 2003 using ASM (this is not a RAC install however). I would like to able to access the EM web pages (that usually run on port 5500) to check out the ASM and other installed features. This system is not on a grid or connected to a central EM repository.
    I did not choose the EM packages when I ran the OUI initially, however, I went back and re-ran the OUI and laid out those options. Post install, I expected to see a dbcontrol service running but did not.
    Thats where I am at.
    The database name is ctcdb, by the way.

    Did you set the ORACLE_SID and ORACLE_HOME variables before running emca ?

  • Installation problem - Oracle 11gR2 Windows XP Professional SP 2

    Hello everybody!
    I have a problem at the installation moment of Oracle 11g R2 on Windows XP Professional Edition with SP 2. Please help me!
    This is my computer's hardware configuration:
    CPU Intel Pentium 4 3.00 Ghz x86
    RAM: 1 GB
    Hard disk: SATA 180 GB
    Graphic Card: PCI-Express nVidia 7300GS 256 MB
    Network connection: LAN / Internet connection: ADSL
    O.S. Windows XP Professional Edition SP 2 (and installed .Net framework 2.0)
    Antivirus: AVG 9.0 free edition
    WEB Browser: Internet Explorer / Mozilla Firefox.
    I tried to Install Oracle 11g R2 2 times, so I have formatted my computer 2 times because after the installation process, the Oracle Universal Installer don't respond.
    Every time I installed the O.S., drivers, Antivirus, .Net Framework, Ms office, everything works properly.
    I configured the network connection to use a fixed IP Address, I created the environment variables ORACLE_BASE, ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_SID and ORACLE_UNQNAME (1st time its value was the same value of ORACLE_SID, 2nd time its value was the database global name) and then, I start the SETUP program, it run properly, but at the moment of finish the database creation this message appears: execute the commands: 1) define ORACLE_UNQNAME in database unique name 2) emctl.bat start dbconsole.
    Through SQL Plus I can connect to the database, execute queries, the listener is working, but the database console service doesn't work. If I try to start it since command prompt (emctl start dbconsole) I get a message about the specific error 2.
    What can I do??

    Definitively, change the value of ORACLE_SID is not right. Then, I changed the ORACLE_SID again to its original value and the result was:

    Using the ORACLE_SID original name, at least the emctl shows the OracleDBConsoleMGN as not started when I try to stop.
    schavali: When I executed the Oracle Installation, the database configuration assistant showed this message:
    The Enterprise Manager configuration was success with this warning: Error at start up database control, execute the commands: and you know, here start our history.
    And the 3 steps of the database configuration assistant shows this:
    Copying database files : Success (correct mark)
    Creating and starting up database instance: Success (correct mark)
    Finishing database creation: Success (correct mark)
