Aggrates on Hierachy structs and time dependent characterstics

Hi Every one,
I would be really appritiate, if any one can answer to my question. i will give you full points
Can we create aggregates on Hierachy structures and attributes of time dependent characterstics.?
Thanks
Farooq

Hi
We cannot
Aggregates are for Cubes only
If you have some prob in case of Hier structure or time dependent chare..there are various other performance tuning measure we can opt for

    Hi Maya,
As the name states time dependent and time independent ceratin data could be dependent on time. Lets say there is a sales person and he resides in Indian from June to Dec and from Jan to May he resides in US then you can make that characteristic as time -dependent.

  • BPM Collect Message dependent AND time dependent

    Hi
I have a IDOC to file scenario where I have to collect all the IDOC until I receive a stop IDOC.
Once the End collect IDOC is received I have to do a n:1 transformation and write the file to the FTP.
The problem is, at times the IDOC which is suppose to end the collect loop gets stuck in ECC R3 system.
So Im wondering If I can do something like say, we have two options inside BPM both time dependent and message dependent.
In this case which ever comes first (the Stop/END IDOC or the Time say 3 mins) will end the collect process.
Can anyone pls suggest will it work and if so what are the additional steps I have to introduce in the BPM.
    Pls advice.
Right Now these are the steps in the BPM Collect Message dependent.
    1. Block (I have used correlation)
    2. Fork inside the block
    3. Fork branch one has a look with end condition as 1=1; then a receive step and a container operation inside the loop.
    4. Fork branch two receives the end collect idoc.
    5. Transform step outside the block.
    6. Send step.
    Thanks
    Prasanna

    Hi Abhishek/ Raj
    Thanks!!
I have done the changes let me confirm after testing it once. In the mean time I have one more question regarding the same BPM, as I have mentioned in the first post, the BPM contains the 6 steps mentioned but the the 6th step is inside another block (Block2).
The steps 1 to 4 are inside Block1.
The step 5 ie the transformation step (n:1) is in between the Blocks ie not inside any block (hope im not confusing).
The second block is for sending the file to the FTP and based on the acknowledgement (transport level) I have to send an email.
So Block2 already contains a deadline branch, it is to wait for the positive acknowledgement for say 3 mins and send the error email if incase we dont get positive ack within the time limit.
    My doubt is,
    1. Is it the only way (having two block and two wait steps) to achieve this.
(one block for collecting and one block for ack)
    2. Is there any way I can have a single Block in the BPM insted of two. If so what are the steps.
Having single block, Will improve anything??
    Thanks

  • Chacteristic Derivation and time dependent master data

    Hi Gurus
I've an issue with char derivation.
In one of the derivation we derive a char 'BU' which is an attibute of Profit Center (PC) in our case. Now PC can have different BUs over different years.
The requirement is to assign different BU for each year as per master data of PC. However, presently if my planning function is running for 3 years then it will assign the latest BU to all the three years.....not the difference one for each year.
    Please advise.
    Thks in advance.
    SK

I just found the logic for this one, unfortunately what i had suspected....
The system date is used if a validity date is not maintained on the area . If a validity date is maintained, only hierarchies are provided for this validity date. An error message is issued if the validity date is changed and a hierarchy that is already used no longer falls on this date.
For multiareas, the validity date counts from the first area found, which contains the hierarchy-defining characteristic.
Time-dependent characteristics in the BPS act in the same way as time-dependent hierarchies

  • Time Dependency issue

    Hi Gurus,
I have User master data  Info Object, and time dependency User group as navigational attribute. I checked navigational attributes in Info Cubes and MulitProviders. For testing purpose we have changed the validity period of User group like for example :
    Output of Master Data.
__User       UserGRP      Validity From    Validity To__
    MARKD   OCV             01/01/2010   06/17/2010
    MARKD   PSV              06/18/2010 12/31/9999
But in the report it is showing current user group as PSA for all records. For old records which are before 06/17/2010 is suppose to be OCV but it is taking everything as PSA(before and after validity period).
Please any suggestions on this will appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ganesh Reddy.

    Hi Ganesh,
The time dependant objects display the result based on key date.
By default the key date is current date.
So it will display the value of user group as of today in the whole data set.
If you set the key date to past date it will set the output of whole data set as on that day.
If you want it to be varying, you will have to add a user group field in the cube and populate it using ABAP lookuo on user master data.

  • Navigational attributes time dependent in queries

    Hello Guys,
I have a doubt, I have a master data with navigational attributes and time dependent  and I need display from a query a comparative date between 2 navigational attributes; the value of the master data's attribute navigational and time dependent.
    It is possible?
    Thank you very much.
    Regards,
    Jeysi

    I describe the case again:
I need display a comparative between 2 time period based in navigational attributes in a Query.
It is possible?  I think that only a date is possible because the key date controls the output to the date specified or by default to today. Is it correct?, if I need keep historical information must save in the cubo each attribute neccesary for comparation to a period.
    Thank you very much.

  • Why time-dependent not work for cost center and profit center hierarchy

Has anybody been able to successfully turn on time-dependent for cost center hierarchy? Looks like the R/3 datasource 0COSTCENTER_0101_HIER is defaulted to be NOT time-dependent, and I don’t know how to change the R/3 configuration to enable time-dependent for this datasource.
Here is what I found. If you go to RSA2 in R/3 and enter datasource 0COSTCENTER_0101_HIER, and then select "Hierarchy Info", you will see that all the time-dependent properties are unchecked by default. By comparison, Cons Unit datasource 0CS_UNIT_CSCU_HIER has “Version Dependent Hierarchy” as selected, and we are able to load Cons Unit hierarchy as time-dependent, but have no luck so far with the Cost Center hierarchy.
Can any BI guru tell me how I can make time-dependent work for the cost center hierarchy?
    Thanks a bunch!

    Check SETLEAF and SETNODE.
Basically CO Master data groups dont have seperate tables. They will be available in above tables. Choose proper Set class to filter the results

I have an iPad 2 (Wifi + 3G). Is it correct to use the Wifi and 3G at the same time, or one at a time, depending on connectivity? Thanks in advance.

Your iPad will use wifi first if available. If wifi is not available, it will use 3G.

  • Time Dependent InfoObject and InfoPackages

    Hi There,
I did create a time-dependent infoobject ( bI7 object) however the timeframe in the infopackage does not show-up meaning I can not restrict the load _ unless I define the dateto and datefrom as selection when I create the datasource in R/3 ... Any explanation ? is it a BI7 feature ?
    Cheers,
    Erik.

With Time-dependent InfoOject, it is usually possible to restrict in the tab "Upadate" the FROM and TO date from the extraction. Usually the default value when you create the infopackage is TODAY for FROM and 31.12.9999 for TO.
In my case, when I create the infopackage these options do NOT appear in the screen. ....
What is the reason for that ? Is there a reason for that ?
    Cheers,
    Erik

  • Profit center Time dependent and other Time Dependent Master Data

Hello Friends . I ticked one of the attribute of 0Vendor -
Attribute = Profit center Time dependent. Now I get
Date To and Date From Field. I read that we need to set this in BI via routine. Can u Suggest the below
Date From Field = GO live Date
Question 1 : If I set Date To FIELD to be Month end like for oct 10/31/2007 and make a routine that will increase the Date To FIELD to November 11/30/2007. Will it spoil the load since I read in SAP Expert that we cannot have same date to field. But i guess we can have it, Like If i load it today Date to will be 10/31/2007 and tomorrow load will also have 10/31/2007 . so it will have monthly snap shots of master data
Question 2 : what is advisable if I create Daily snap shots of master data like Date To FIELD will be Loading Date . Will that logic in routine to create daily loading date set to Date To FIELD will overburden the system and make the system die in few months or it is ok. we will have about 12 fields which will be time dependent.
Question 3: If you have any routine that set Date To field please email me at [email protected]
    Please help
    soniya
    null

    Soniya,
If you really need to do it, Quarterly is a better option than monthly so that you can reduce the number of records in master data.
For the time stamp, you will have to write some code.
Since you are going to use 0PROFIT_CTR object, the business content on this is still based on the old data flow. You have multiple places to write this code. The best place is to create a transformation between your Infosource and the InfoObject. Once you have the update rule, you can write a start routine.
you have to populate the date from and date to field.
date to = first day fo the current qtr.
date from = last date of the current qtr.
to get the first date and last date you can use the following logic.
    1. pass current date and fiscal variant to fm DATE_TO_PERIOD_CONVERT.
    2. get the first period and last period from the output of 1. (for example, the current date is converted to period 003, and year 2007, then for this value the first period will be 001, and last period will be 003 and so on)
    3. use fm FIRST_DAY_IN_PERIOD_GET to get the first date of the period.
    4. user fm LAST_DAY_IN_PERIOD_GET to get the last date of the period.

  • SCOPE hierarchy Time and Category dependent

In our project we had requirements according OWNERSHIP model and this requirement i think it would be useful for all clients who use SAP BPC.
I try to explain our requirements using examples. In our system we create ownership structure for ACTUAL category and TIME 2013.12. This ownership structure looks like this (see example below). Everything is fine as you see, all of this covered with standard functionality.
    G20070001
        G20020001
        G20030002
        G20040003
but when i try to create new  ownership structure in FORECAST category and Time 2014.12 I face with problem. My structure for Category Forecast must look like this:
    G20070001
        G20020001
        G20030002
          G20040003
With standard functionality my second case not be covered, because we can’t set up attribute PARENT_GROUP to depend on TIME and CATEGORY. So I suppose if we can set up GROUPS hierarchy with dependency of CATEGORY and TIME dimensions it can be done.
Has anybody face with the same problem???  If you face and resolve it, it would be great if you share your experience.

    Hi Andrea.
Could you please tell how you would expect this hierarchy to work?
How should it look with key date 12.01.2009?
How should it look with key date 13.01.2009?
I believe that it in most cases would make more sense to create the hierarchy like this:
    Root
    Node22
    Node1 01.01.2009 - 12.01.2009
    Leaf1 01.01.2009 - 12.01.2009
    Leaf2 01.01.2009 - 12.01.2009
    Leaf3 01.01.2009 - 12.01.2009
    Node22
    Node1 13.01.2009 - 31.12.9999
    Leaf1 13.01.2009 - 31.12.9999
    Leaf2 13.01.2009 - 31.12.9999
    Leaf3 13.01.2009 - 31.12.9999

  • Time-dependent master data in the cube and query

    Hello,
I have a time-dep. masterdata infoobject with two time-dep attributes (one of them is KF). If i add this infoobject into the cube, what time period SID will be considered during the load? I assume it only matters during load, if i add the KF to the query it gets its value based on the SID in the cube.. right?
    Thanks,
    vamsi.

If its Time Dependent Master Data object when you run your Master Data if that time any changes to the Master Data that value will be overwrite to the old value you will get the new value. When you run the Query execution the Infocube Master Data infoobject will having the SID that time it will to there it will be displayed at that moved what is the value you have in the Master Data table.
    This is what my experience.
    Thanks,

  • Time-Depended hierarchy and BEx-Queries

    Hi Gurus, Masters,
I have ONE time-depended hierarchy for 4 periods (times):
    1, 2, 3, 4
I have 4 columns in Query with 4 periods:
    1 col for 1 period,
    2 col for 2 period,
    3 col for 3 period,
    4 col for 4 period.
I have 1 row with this hierarchy.
How can i share this hierarchy in my columns by validity:
for 1 col -> this hierarchy for 1 period,
for 2 col -> this hierarchy for 2 period,
for 3 col -> this hierarchy for 3 period,
for 4 col -> this hierarchy for 4 period?
Any answer will be very appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Is this possible?
    P.S.
    I have 2 solutions found.

    Hi Shashi,
    One of the ways:
Create a variable type customer exit - in properties of the IO - in the 'select hierarchy' window there is a 'Variables' checkbox for key date.
Calculate the last date of the entered period/year in the exit.
    Best regards,
