Aggregate deactivation question

Hi,
Recently data of an aggregate got corrupted and we deactivated that and activated and refilled the aggregate.Due to this we lost all the statistical information of the aggregate like usage etc.
Is there a table where all the statistical information of this particular aggregate is stored even after it got deactivated.

Chk this on <b>RSDDSTAT/RSDDSTATAGGRDEF</b> -
this is based on the last enrty of the database table.
And in the aggreate screeen you will find an option 'propose' on the top side juse select the option what you want it will helps you.
Else try in Work load monitor ares use tcode ST03 . Try this RSTRACE tcode.
Hope it might helps in resolving your issue.

TCS4 + CS5.5 + *3* machines + Activation/Deactivation - Question Jumble

I apologize in advance if this seems convoluted -- I have *tried* to make sure I'm saying only what needs to be said :-) Any help would be appreciated. [Note: I *did* try to 'chat' with a representative, but didn't even get through the deactivation question before they got stuck in scripted answer limbo.]
On machine #1, I had previously installed TCS2.5 and CS5.5 (Design Standard). Thus I Acrobat X Pro (amongst many other apps, including Acrobat 9 Pro Extended) available.
I recently installed TCS4 on machine #1 (which includes Acrobat XI Pro), but Acrobat X Pro and Acrobat 9 Pro are no longer available (error message: action is only valid for products that are currently installed).
I also installed TCS4 on machine #2.
I now need to use TCS4 on machine #3 (and machine #2). I can live without it on machine #1 for the time being, but would like to be able to use it again later.
So...
I need to deactivate TCS4 on machine #1 and activate it on machine #3. According to a page in the adobe help, I should be able to do this *without* removing the software from machine #1.
Question: Is that correct?
Question: Is there a time limit within which I have to reactivate, or am I good anytime?
Question: Is there a limit to the number of times I can deactivate and reactivate the software, and/or a minimum period between deactivation and reactivation?
When I deactivate TCS4 on machine #1, I will no longer have Acrobat available.
Question: Can I *reinstall* Acrobat 9 Pro (from the TCS2.5 install) or Acrobat X Pro (from the CS5.5 install)?
Question: Will installing this older version of Acrobat interfere with the Acrobat XI Pro that is already installed (which I will want to be able to use again later)?
In a nutshell, I'm doing this because I need to keep confidential client information on machines #2 and #3 (cannot share the information on the same machine). They are the main clients for the TCS software. But, I will also need to use the TCS software, on occasion, for other clients using machine #1 (again, cannot share info on common machines). So... I need to be able to turn off the software on one machine and turn it back on on the other. (As you can infer, the issue of Acrobat versions (and other adobe software) applies to each machine -- I want to be able to keep two machines running current software, and have the third running my licensed extra copy of Acrobat.)

Installation and activation are separate and distinct actions, completely independent.
You can have installed Adobe software that is deactivated - it's still fully there but won't run.
Don't tie yourself in knots - the easiest thing to do would be to contact Adobe customer service and have them reset the activation counts for all your product serial numbers to zero. Then you can reactivate them exactly on the systems you want (just start the programs to do this).

Wondering what that's all about... But anyway, here's my question:
I'm also running a PCI-424 and some MOTU interfaces also (old 2408 and some 1224's), but I'm not using the aggregate devices settings. So I'm wondering if I'm not aware of some useful aspect of the whole aggregate device thing... What are you using the aggregate device setup for? Is there an advantage to using it with a straight-forward audio recording/playback situation using the existing capabilities of the PCI-424 + interfaces?

as the 424 is configured, but appears as 1 device to

aggregation, right? I am not a big MOTU guy but...
Well, let's put it this way: when I got my G5 one of the first things I did was pop in the 424 card, hook up the interfaces, run the MOTU config thingee and it recognized all 3 interfaces without a hitch. Great!
Then I installed Logic and without glitches it saw all of the MOTU ins and outs. Great!
In my 40 output setup, Logic simply numbers the outputs consecutively, in the order that the interfaces are plugged into the 424 card. Within Logic there is no designation of outputs belonging to any particular device, i.e., none of the audio output labels are designated "MOTU 2408" or "MOTU 1224 #1" or "MOTU 1224 #2". They're just outputs 1 - 40. So in a sense, the way Logic "expresses" the MOTU outputs, it's as though they're "aggregated" -- a single device.
It was only many weeks after I got my system up and running that I decided to explore the menus in the Audio MIDI Setup, and ran across this strange thing called "aggregate devices". There was zero, zero, zero documentation about it in the G5 manual nor in on-board Help, and a search of Apple's website turned up virtually no information. So basically, all this time I've been running with my MOTU interfaces, never configured anything having to do with aggregate devices, and I've yet to experience any kind of audio glitch with Logic. Great!
So in conclusion, I'd say that if an audio system consists exclusively of MOTU devices, setting up aggregate devices isn't necessary. Same situation with the MIDI side of AMS, really... with Logic you don't need to configure AMS MIDI to do anything. In fact, as you may have read in some of my prior posts, setting up MIDI in AMS actually creates more work than it's worth.
Therefore, my AMS is devoid of any user settings, except for the (seemingly) mandatory AMS-audio settings for "internal clock".

Aggregate device questions

I am hoping to use two USB interfaces (an M-audio fast track and an M-audio fast track pro) to end up with 3 independent discreet tracks. I thought I could do this by creating an aggregate device, and so I did that, and sure enough when I fire up GB an option is there in the prefs to select the device, and it changes drivers like I expect, and down in the input select area I can select the three independent mono tracks. But that's where the trouble starts, there is no audio passing through. each I/O works fine separately, but not as an aggregate device. What the heck am I doing wrong?

Okay, so apparently the trouble was that I was using a passive USB hub to connect both USB i/o's because when I put them each into their own USB port on the macbookpro it worked... maybe the passive hub can't supply enough power to the devices, (using them without their power supplies) again, I dunno, but this way it does work. And just as a side point, the M-Audio USB Pro has an interesting feature where for it's sample rate it is given as "up to 48Khz" not switchable between 44 and 48. The book implies that it will switch depending on the bit depth, but it just always says "up to 48"...

Photoshop Elements Serial Number Deactivation Question

I bought Photoshop Elements 8.0 a few years back and have been using it happily and successfully since. However, I have now run into a serial number activation problem that will not allow me to use the software. The error given is: "Our records indicate that this serial number has already been used to set up and activate Photoshop Elements 8.0 on two other machines, which is the maximum allowed."
Of course, it is simple enough to deactivate a computer if that computer is accessible, but therein lies the problem. One of the two machines that is taking up my activations is my old Macbook, which experienced a total motherboard failure in March 2-13. I restored onto my new Macbook from a Time Machine backup, but when I did so, PSE required me to re-enter my serial number. This was easy enough, but it considers this new Macbook to be a third activation and thus will not allow me to use the software. And, of course, given that my previous Macbook is dead and gone, I cannot access my old Macbook to deactivate the software there.
What can I do to solve this?
Computer specifications: Macbook Pro, 15" (bought 2013). Mac OS X Version 10.8.5. 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7 processor with 8 GB of RAM. The software is Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0

Deactivation question

I was runing CS6 and LR5 on my computer. The computer crashed and burned. I reinstalled both applications on an older desktop and laptop but they were both too old and slow to run either CS6 or LR5. I will be installing all my Adobe products on a new computer and was told that I new to deactiveate the recent installations (even though they don't work on these machines) before re-installing on a new computer to avoid licensing violations from having these programs on too many computers at once. If this is the case, how do I de-activate the programs on the old computers?

I created an aggreagate for a info cube(which had data) which already has a couple of aggregates built on to it.I activated and filled my particular aggregate.My question now is my aggreagate ready for the query to use,or do i have to run "aggregate roll up".

You probably don't want to set the Automatic aggregate rollp on an InfoCube if you have Requests daily that perform a full load, automatically deleting an idnetical Rques previously loaded earlier (e.g. day before), as this causes the aggregate to have to be refilled completely, and while that should happen automatically, it seems to be problem prone and can take a long time if the base InfoCube is large.

Adobe Application Manager and other Installers All Messed up

I have a Mac Pro running 10.5.8 and CS5 Design Premium. Today I noticed 3 new updates: Bridge 4.0.2, Camera Raw 6.1, and a Flash thing. I ran the update using Adobe Application Manager (AAM). It failed on all three. I tried every way I could find to re-install AAM including
1. Deleting the PDApp folder under OOBE
2. Running the installer from a terminal window in silent mode
3. Running the original installer
Running the original installer starts AAM, which then crashes, and when I relaunch it, it looks for updates and doesn't return to dealing with the full install.
So, I have no idea what to do. I cannot reinstall CS5 or uninstall it. I cannot update anything, even by hand.
I am a fairly sophisticated OS X person, so I am not doing something stupid like not being connected to the net. It's a permissions or ownship thing.
Any suggestions would help.

Your problem is similar to mine.AAM and Deavtive are two central actors in this isssus. OOdude is right on Deactive Question is YES/NO to AAM. Two options with some trial and error. Follow the below-but...
AAM Runs??
1) Deactivate. Uninstall. Run the clean-up script**. Reboot. Reinstall. If you product key works, you’re good. Live long and be creative.
AAM not Running? ‘
2) Backtrack on the link I left earlier. Look it over. If that helps, follow it. Try running the clean-up script. Should pull the bad installation. Reboot and Reinstall. If your product key works, you should be good.
No luck? The sticking point is the fact that you were not able to deactivate. Tech support calls time. No matter how painfull, Adobe’s product key use database has you in its grips.
3) Tell Support “reinstall due to software problems and product key not working.” Adobe will give you codes to release your product key. " You can’t out horsepower this problem.

1. How do I check whether someone is re-bilding aggregates on a cube?
2. Does rebuilding an aggregate refer to the rollup process? Can it take a few hours?
3. What does it mean when someone switches off an aggregate, basically what is the difference (conceptually/time consumption)between:
                        A. activating an aggregate?
                        B. switching off/on an aggregate?
                        C. rebuilding an aggregate?
3. When a user complains that a query is running slow, do we build an aggregate based on the chars in rows & free chars in that query OR is there anything else we need to include?
4. Does database statistics in the 'MANAGE' tab of a cube only show statistics or does it do anything to improve the load/query performance on the cube?

If your aggregate status is in red and you are filling up the aggregate - it is an initial fill of the aggregate and filling up would mean loading the data from the cube into the aggregate in full.

Rebuilding of an aggregate is to reload the data into the aggregate from the cube once again.

this would mean recreating the data structures for the aggregate - this would mean dropping the data and reloading the data.
B. switching off/on an aggregate?
Switching off an aggregate means that it will not be used by the OLAp processor but would mean that the aggregate still gets rolled up. Rollup referring to loading changed data from the cube into the aggregate - this is done based n the requests that have not yet been rolled up into the cube.
C. rebuilding an aggregate?

Run the query in RSRT and do an SQl view of the query and check the characteristics that are used in the query and then include the same into your aggregate.

Stats being updated will improve the execution plans on the database. Making sure that stats are up to date would lead to better execution plans and hence possibly better performance but it cannot eb taken for granted that refreshing stats is going to improve query performance.

Is filling of Agreegate is same as Roll up?

Activation:
In order to use an aggregate in the first place, it must be defined activated and filled.When you activate it, the required tables are created in the database from theaggregate definition. Technically speaking, an aggregate is actually a separate BasicCube with its own fact table and dimension tables. Dimension tables that agree with the InfoCube are used together. Upon creation, every aggregate is given a six-digit number that starts with the figure1. The table names that make up the logical object that is the aggregate are then derived in a similar manner, as are the table names of an InfoCube. For example, if the aggregate has the technical name 100001, the fact tables are called: /BIC/E100001 and /BIC/F100001. Its dimensions, which are not the same as those in the InfoCube,have the table names /BIC/D100001P, /BIC/D100001T and so on.
Rollup:
New data packets / requests that are loaded into the InfoCube cannot be used at first for reporting if there are aggregates that are already filled. The new packets must first be written to the aggregates by a so-called “roll-up”. In other words, data that has been recently loaded into an InfoCube is not visible for reporting, from the InfoCube or aggregates, until an aggregate roll-up takes place. During this process you can continue to report using the data that existed prior to the recent data load. The new data is only displayed by queries that are executed after a successful roll-up.

Ipad apple ID account is deactivated and don't know the password or security questions

I have had an ipad for 12 months, my husband created an icloud account on it ([email protected]) but since then we have never used the ipad to log into apple website, itunes etc. Recently I purchased a MAC and iphone5 and after downloading the latest itunes to then sync all 3 together the ipad then asked for apple ID and password even though it had never asked for this before. The trouble is the ipad apple ID is an icloud one, ie. an email account that belongs to Apple, so we cannot reset the password via email as we don't have access to the email, and one of the security questions answers comes up wrong all the time. Because we have tried several times to remember the password the apple ID is now deactivated and the only way to re-activate it is via email verification (impossible) or security questions (impossible). We tried connecting ipad to computer and restoring factory settings, but the ipad continues to ask for apple ID and password...help... customer service Apple in Spain has more or less told us if we can't remember the security questions or password and have no recovery email (which we don't) then basically the device is useless!!!! Urm, that ipad cost a lot of money to just "throw it away". Any advice you can give me?

You cannot merge Apple ID accounts, that has never been supported.
You can contact the Apple ID Security folks per the listing in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699 and they can help reset security questions and get the account working.

For direct activation of hierarchy, Aggregates have to be deactivated

Hi,
There are 2 monthly master data hierarchies loaded.
We face some problem while loading the hierarchies.
Now the 2 hierarchies are seen as Modified version.
When I try to activate the hierarchies manually I receive the below message
"For direct activation of hierarchy, 0042 Aggregates have to be deactivated"
with 2 options as:
1 Prebook activation
2 Activate directly
What are these options?
Will affect on aggregates?

Activate directly wlll directly activate the hierarchy....
Prebook for activation will capture it and it will be activated later at the time of the chnage run.
Always prefer Prebook for activation...

You cannot and need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

If you are going to reformat the hard drive, wiping out all data on the computer, there is no need to uninstall. Deactivation is enough.
