Aggregation level and filters in bi 7.0 reporting

hi friends,
what the use of creating aggregation level and filters in reporting in bps.
if u have any videos for bps, please send me links.
thanking u
suneel.

Aggregation levels and filters are spefic objects used in Integrated Planning; they did ot exist in BPS. Aggregation level is similar to planning level and filter is similar to planning package. Agg levels and filters are the essential objects for planning with Integrated planning.

  • Aggregation level and planning filter question

    Hi,
I have below questions on aggregation levels and planning fitlers.
Scenario: An Aggregation level is built on a multiprovider( Actual Cub1(5 chars, 4 keyfig), Actual Cube2(8 chars, 6 key fig), and Real Time Cube3(8 chars and 3 keyfig)). A FOX copy function has to be built on this aggregation level in which data from cube1 will be copied to cube 3.
    1. Does an Aggregation level need to have all chars and keyfigures from cube 1 and cube 3? or it should have structure of Cube 3 only as data will be written to cube 3?
    - what are the standard design considerations for defining aggregation level?
    2. In planning filter, both cube1 and cube3 are to be restricted or only cube3?
Is it necessary that only target planning cube is to be resricted? In that case how function will get the source data from cube1?
    - what are the standard design considerations for defining planning filter?
Please provide some info on this...
any document on design consderations for planning object will be great.
    Thanks,
    Pundari.

  • Can a CR work only for one aggregation level and not other ?

    Hi Experts,
I have a real time infocube (RTIC) over which there is a multiprovider, on top of which I have built 2 aggregation levels.
There are sequence of 2 characteristic relationships (CR's based on exit class) defined for the same RTIC.
Is it possible that the CR's be functional for one aggregation level and not in case of second aggregation level ?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Pankaj

Additionally let me explain the scenario in more detail:
The difference between 2 mentioned aggr levels is that of 0CALMONTH which is checked in second aggr level.
0CALMONTH is assigned as target char in first CR, hence both the CRu2019s work for input ready report built on first aggregation level and do not function with input ready report built over second aggregation level.
Therefore I wish to skip the complete execution of CRu2019s for I-R reports based on 2nd aggregation level.
As CR of type with derivation is functional only if the target char selected is not present in the aggregation level.
Please let me know if any more details are required.
    Thanks,
    Pankaj

  • Filters at record level and filters restrictions at cell level

    Hello Crystal Report friends:
We are aware that we can apply filters globally (record Level). We need to add additional filters(Restrictions) at cell level. How do we apply filters at a cell Level?
    Regards,
    Joe Gonzales

And along with what Ian said be careful when exporting also, some suppressed fields may export even though you have supressed them, so you are not removing the data, just hiding it. If the user has rights to edit the report they could "unhide" the info.
Depending on the version of CR you are using depends on the output, our export formats tend to change on how they work and what is exported etc.
There are Various DB tools from SAP Enterprise that has the ability to do row level filtering if that is an option for you.

  • DP Local Key Figure Discrepancy between Aggregated level and lowest level

    Dear,
    Here is my issue.
    Forecast (key figure)
    Life Cycle Factor (key figure)
    Final Forecast (Local Key figure)
    Final forecast = Forecast * (1- LCF (%) )
    Example :
    Product 1 = 100
    Product 2 = 200
    Product 3 = 300
    TOTAL FORECAST = 600
    If I assign a life cyle factor to Product 1 = 60
    Total LCF appears  = 20 (60 + 0 + 0) => OK
    Final Forecast Product 1 = 40        => OK
    Final Forecast Product 2 = 200      => OK
    Final Forecast Product 3 = 300      => OK
    Total Final Forecast =  480  (600 * (1-20%)        => NOK
I have a very strange situation because  at the product level, the formula is OK   => Final Forecast = Forecast * (1 - LCF(%) )
BUT Total Final Forecast should be the sum of the each product Final forecast = 40 + 200 +300 = 540.
Can you help me to understand what I have to correct for  this aggregation ?
Thanks a lot for your help

    Hi Arnaud,
My macro is running "interactively" because it is placed into the Default basket of my planning book.
(macro executed  for each save / change)
I agree, calculation is done at each level.
Here is the parameters of the macro... should I change something ?
    Thanks for your help

  • Getting incorrect numbers at aggregated level when filtering on Months in SSAS

    Hi,
I have a calculated measure(Cumulative total) based on another calculated measure. When i look at entire year data, all the numbers at all levels show up correctly, but as soon as i filter on a particular Month, the Month level numbers still show correctly,
but Quarter/Year level numbers still considers all the Months.
    Calc used:
    Sum(PeriodsToDate([CALENDAR].[Calendar].[year]),[Measures].[Number of Male Employees])
FYI - [Measures].[Number of Male Employees] is a calculated measure in SSAS.

    Hi Mayank,
According to your description, you createa a calculated measure(Cumulative total) based on another calculated measure, the problem is that if you filter a month, the Month level numbers still show correctly, but Quarter/Year level numbers still considers all
    the Months.
Based on my research, the issue is not caused by the calculated measure [Measures].[Number of Male Employees], we can use a calcualted measure is another calculated measure. You can use the MDX below to create this calculated measure.
    AGGREGATE(NULL :[Date].[Calendar].CurrentMember, [Measures].[Number of Male Employees])

  • Forecast, selection and aggregation level

    Hi gourous,
    I'm working on APO 4.1.
Forecast runs in background as following:
    - Aggregation level: Sales organization / distribution channel / division / product size.
All these four characteristics are part of the characteristic combination.
    - Selection ID is defined on: sales organisation / sales statut / standard - promo indicator / product size
Sales statut and standard - promo indicator are attributes of the characteristic material (sales view).
However there is forecasts on promo SKUs even if they aren't  in the selection ID (standard - promo indicator as value egal to standard in the selection ID)
My question is: how is it possible? is there a conflict between the selection ID and the aggregation level?
I check the assignment of forecast profiles and there is no profil assigned on the ID selection.
    Thank you for your return.
    Sophie

    Hi Datta,
Let me go further with my data model first.
    Selection criteria:
    Sales organisation = CZ01
    Sales statut = active
    Standard / promo = standard
    Product size = A, B, C, D, E
    Aggregation level:
    Sales organisation
    Distribution chanel
    Division
    Product size
What I understand of the 546079 OSS notes:
Distribution chanel and division are to be out of the aggregation level. Moreover in my case, there is only one value possible.
What I understand of the 374681 OSS notes:
The system searches for all the characteristics of the sales organisation * product size (of the aggregation level) that match the selection. At that step, APO should select only active and standard skus for CZ01 sales organisation and A, B, C, D, E product size. Afterwards the system searches for all the characteristics combinations that fit the chosen aggregation level and aggregates its values.
My question is: does APO disaggregate on the ID selection?
The characteristic combination I see in the job log are those defined on the aggregated level taking into account the sales organisation and product size restriction defined in the selection ID.
    Thank you for your return.

  • Input-ready query and aggregation level or multiprovider

    Hi,
is it true that input-ready querys can only be created based on an aggregation level and not a multiprovider?
    thanks.
    regards
    P.Rex

    Hi,
Input Ready Queries can only be built on aggregation levels.
If you want to create an input ready query on a multiprovider, first create an aggreagtion level on top of this multiprovider and build your query on this aggregation level.
If you have any problems in getting the input readiness, you can always revert.

  • Fields in Input Ready Query and Aggregation Level

Hi All - New to IP. What if we dont include all the fields of Aggregation level in Input Ready Query.
Supose there are 4 fields in Aggregation level and we are including only two in Input Ready Query.

    Hi Harry,
For a Keyfigure to be input ready, all the characteristics of the Aggregation should be filled with some values at the time of input.
The characteristics should be either in Static Filter, Dynamic Filter, Row, Column. New Selection.
If a characteristic is not there in any of the above area then it is considered to be null and query will not be input ready.

  • Aggregation level in only bps ?

    hi friends,
can we need aggregation level in reporting for only bps module or for normal cubes also. so what is the if we use for normal cube alos.,
    Tu
    suneel.

Lets say you have fiscal period, fiscla year, GL account, amount, qty, product in the cube. But you wish to plan for GL account, fiscal period, fiscal year. Then you create an aggregation level for this and plan on GL account.
Similarly, you wish to plan for product, fiscal period, fiscal year and amout, then you create another aggregation level and plan for product.
Under this level, you further have filters, in which you restrict the values for the characteristics that you wish to plan.

  • Aggregation level is not getting activated

    Hello Experts,
I am working for Integrated Planning(BI 7.0). I have created one Aggregation level and i have transported from Dev to Qty.
After transporting i need to do some changes in Aggregation Level in Dev.
    Problem:
When i am trying to change aggregation level in Dev, It is showing below errors.
    1) choose an existing request
    2) BEx transport request is not available or not suitable
    3) Aggregation level is locked by the change and Transport organizer.
Please help me to solve this issue.
    Best Regards,
    Ranganath

    Hi,
Please check if the respective aggregation level is assigned to
a transportable development class. If so, there must be a BEx
request in /nRSA1 created for further processing in this regard either.
The reported message is raised when aggregation level is not assigned
to Bex Transport request. In this case, maybe creating a new transport
    request will be helpful.

  • Activate an Aggregation Level in Production

    Hi,
Can anyone please assist me in activating an aggregation level in Production?
Some of our aggregation levels are inactive and we can't transport them at the moment as we are busy with an upgrade in development.
Your help would really be appreciated, as this is quite high priority at the moment.
    Thank you!
    Regards,
    Tanya

    Hi Shafi,
We did do the investigation. The MultiProvider on which the Aggregation Level was built, was still active in the morning. We ran two queries from the MultiProvider, and the second one (for some reason) de-activated the one InfoCube in the MultiProvider.
We did version comparisons to see what might have changed in the InfoCube or MultiProvider, but there was nothing. We re-activated both the InfoCube and MultiProvider with programs that are available in SE38 (RSDG_CUBE_ACTIVATE and RSDG_MPRO_ACTIVATE), but could not find a program to re-activate the aggregation levels (and the function module did not work).
    Thank you!
    Regards,
    Tanya

  • IP question: Aggregation Level picture icon color?

We are pretty new on IP (Integrated Planning).  You know that the picture icon of Aggregation Level look like a two step stair.  When we check our BI 7.0 system, find for some aggregation levels, both the steps are white color, while for others, the top step is white color and the bottom step is blue color which looks like a small cube shape.  What are the difference?  The one with bottom step being the blue color means this aggregation level is activated and the one with both steps being white colors means they are inactivated?
Another question, as what we know, in order to do planning, the Cube must be real-time cube other than standard InfoCube in the setting of the cube, right?  In our system, we find the aggregation is built on a Multi-Provider and underlying the Multi-Provider, there are about 6 cubes.  But when we check all the 6 cubes, find the settings for these cubes are all set to Standard InfoCube.  That means with the aggregation level built upon this multi-provider, users can't do any planning, right?
We will give you reward points!

    Hi Kevin,
You can build a simple aggregation Level on a real time cube.
Aslo we can build AGgregation levels on Multi providers ( which must contain atleast one real time Cube) . These kind of aggregation levels are called as Complex Aggregation levels.
Also regd the Aggregation level Colours , your understanding is right.

  • Cross-Aggregation-Level Selection Evaluation indicator

    Hi,
Can any one explain me the meaning of the below statements in the two paragraphs. This is for "Cross-Aggregation-Level Selection Evaluation indicator" in alert monitor.
If the Cross-Aggregation-Level Selection Evaluation indicator has not been set in the SDP alert profile, only planning objects that exactly correspond to the aggregation level defined in the selection are taken into account. This means that the planning objects contain exactly the characteristics of the aggregation level. Planning objects that have additional characteristics are not taken into account.
If however, the Cross-Aggregation-Level Selection Evaluation indicator is not set in the SDP alert profile, the system takes into account not only planning objects that exactly correspond to the aggregation level of the selection but also those containing additional characteristics.
    Example
If you use a selection with the aggregation level 'Product' in the SDP alert profile and set the Cross-Aggregation-Level Selection Evaluation indicator, alerts will be issued not only for this product but for the relevant location products.
    Thank you.
