Aggregation level and planning filter question

Hi,
I have below questions on aggregation levels and planning fitlers.
Scenario: An Aggregation level is built on a multiprovider( Actual Cub1(5 chars, 4 keyfig), Actual Cube2(8 chars, 6 key fig), and Real Time Cube3(8 chars and 3 keyfig)). A FOX copy function has to be built on this aggregation level in which data from cube1 will be copied to cube 3.
1. Does an Aggregation level need to have all chars and keyfigures from cube 1 and cube 3? or it should have structure of Cube 3 only as data will be written to cube 3?
- what are the standard design considerations for defining aggregation level?
2. In planning filter, both cube1 and cube3 are to be restricted or only cube3?
Is it necessary that only target planning cube is to be resricted? In that case how function will get the source data from cube1?
- what are the standard design considerations for defining planning filter?
Please provide some info on this...
any document on design consderations for planning object will be great.
Thanks,
Pundari.

  • Aggregation level and filters in bi 7.0 reporting

    hi friends,
what the use of creating aggregation level and filters in reporting in bps.
if u have any videos for bps, please send me links.
    thanking u
    suneel.

Aggregation levels and filters are spefic objects used in Integrated Planning; they did ot exist in BPS. Aggregation level is similar to planning level and filter is similar to planning package. Agg levels and filters are the essential objects for planning with Integrated planning.

  • Can a CR work only for one aggregation level and not other ?

    Hi Experts,
I have a real time infocube (RTIC) over which there is a multiprovider, on top of which I have built 2 aggregation levels.
There are sequence of 2 characteristic relationships (CR's based on exit class) defined for the same RTIC.
Is it possible that the CR's be functional for one aggregation level and not in case of second aggregation level ?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Pankaj

Additionally let me explain the scenario in more detail:
The difference between 2 mentioned aggr levels is that of 0CALMONTH which is checked in second aggr level.
0CALMONTH is assigned as target char in first CR, hence both the CRu2019s work for input ready report built on first aggregation level and do not function with input ready report built over second aggregation level.
Therefore I wish to skip the complete execution of CRu2019s for I-R reports based on 2nd aggregation level.
As CR of type with derivation is functional only if the target char selected is not present in the aggregation level.
Please let me know if any more details are required.
    Thanks,
    Pankaj

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 and I Filter Question

    Hello,
I have Adobe Acrobat 8 and I Filter 6.0 installed on a WinXP machine. I am also using Windows Search 4.0. My question is on how to create an embedded index of PDF files so that I may search with a keyword through 100 PDF files as an example. This is actually my last resort after searching thoroughly on the web. I have read articles ranging from editing the registry to how to create a single index within Adobe Acrobat for a single PDF file. Again I am looking to create one index that consists of multiple PDF files. If any can help me I would very much appreciate it. I just say to myself that at some point in time some programmer must have said to himself, can I search for a keyword through 20 PDF files on a desktop system or server?
    Thank you,

  • Planning Level and Planning Group empty

    Hello
We have recently activated EA-FIN (Financials Extension) in our client´s SAP system (ECC 6.0) to implement Liquidity Planner via transaction SFW5.
After this activation, we found that SAP is not updating fields of planning level (FDLEV) and planning group (FDGRP) in BSEG for relevant  FI document postings, these fields are empty after FI document postings. We don´t no this is because of activation of EA-FIN or some customizing parameters of Liquidity Planner. We were not able to find any SAP notes for this issue. Can anybody help out please.
    Thanks and regards
    Srinivas

    HI,
Directly EA-FIN doesn't have any impact on said issue. EA-FIN activation is mandatory for any TRM implementation and the said fields are updated properly in the documents without any issue.
You can try one option since you activated EA-FIN in between. Run Tcode -FDFD which will update all cash managment related flows and fields at both FI & TRM areas.
Please confirm the testing of FDFD in test system before executing the same in Live System.

  • DP Local Key Figure Discrepancy between Aggregated level and lowest level

    Dear,
    Here is my issue.
    Forecast (key figure)
    Life Cycle Factor (key figure)
    Final Forecast (Local Key figure)
    Final forecast = Forecast * (1- LCF (%) )
    Example :
    Product 1 = 100
    Product 2 = 200
    Product 3 = 300
    TOTAL FORECAST = 600
    If I assign a life cyle factor to Product 1 = 60
    Total LCF appears  = 20 (60 + 0 + 0) => OK
    Final Forecast Product 1 = 40        => OK
    Final Forecast Product 2 = 200      => OK
    Final Forecast Product 3 = 300      => OK
    Total Final Forecast =  480  (600 * (1-20%)        => NOK
I have a very strange situation because  at the product level, the formula is OK   => Final Forecast = Forecast * (1 - LCF(%) )
BUT Total Final Forecast should be the sum of the each product Final forecast = 40 + 200 +300 = 540.
Can you help me to understand what I have to correct for  this aggregation ?
Thanks a lot for your help

    Hi Arnaud,
My macro is running "interactively" because it is placed into the Default basket of my planning book.
(macro executed  for each save / change)
I agree, calculation is done at each level.
Here is the parameters of the macro... should I change something ?

  • Noisy Analogue Signal and Lowpass Filter Questions

    Hi everyone,
I am getting analogue signals from a strain gauge that are a bit more noisy than I would like... Normally, I jump right in an smooth the signal using a lowpass filter of whatever order gave me the result that was acceptable, without overkill and smootig the signal to nothing... However, I am settingup a new DAQ device and would like to a little more informed about what and how am doing this...
    So, here are my questions:
    1. How do I determine the filter order? I usually use a 2nd order filter for smoothing.. I understand the comncepts of roll-offs and phase delay as they relate to the order numbers... On what basis should I decide which order filter to use for this specific signal?
    2. I am still thinking that using a lowpass filter is the best approach... I assume the lower cutoff freq is in Hz (i.e. 10Hz) and is NOT a normalised freq [i.e. cutoff freq / (sample rate/2)]?.. The default value is 0.125, which seems too low for a Hz value? Also, on what basis should I decide what cutoff freq to use for this specific signal?
    3. I need to synch the filtered strain gauge signal with other, unfiltered signals... But as the filter will add a phase delay it will affect signal synchronisation... I heard somewhere that a 4th order filter is zero-phase, but I can't see how that could be right as the filter only operates in one direction... Any suggestions for what I could do to maximise the timing alignment between the filtered and unfiltered signals?
    All comments welcome!
    Regards,
    Jack

    Jack,
I was the Instrumentation Engineer at a university for 24 years and worked with several execise physiologists, biologists, and neuroscientists on similar projects.  My group was the "lab/tech staff" you have little of.  There were 3.5 (engineer, 1.5 electronics technicians, and machinist) of us for the entire university.
OK.  The strain gauge signals probably have no information above a few tens of Hz (hummingbirds) or a few Hz for most larger species.  EMG is usually filtered in the amplifiers to slightly larger bandwidths (few hundred Hz) unless you are trying to see the individual action potentials.  Does the dynamometer have specifications on the bandwidth or sampling rates used?
Since your bandwidths are realtively low, I suggest that you sample all the analog inputs (and the trigger outputs, if the boards have the capability) from the same clock.  You can later decimate or average data on channels where less data is needed.  Record the trigger signals on an unused analog input if you have one available.  It can be very handy to have the information about when the triggers actually occurred in the same dataset as the response data.
Delay equalization is a complex topic. Suppose that you are sampling all your channels at 1 kS/s. Suppose you have a 10 Hz low pass filter, 2 pole Butterworth, on a strain gauge channel and a 50 Hz filter, 4 pole, elliptical, on an EMG channel and you want to synchronize the filtered data with some unfiltered channels.  The two filters have very different phase and delay responses over the 0-500 Hz frequency range. To equalize you would need to determine the maximum delay at any frequency in the range for both filters. Then you would need to design THREE all-pass filters. One would have a phase response which compensates the 10 Hz filter. Another would compensate the 50 Hz filter.  These would need to be designed so that the total delays through the low pass plus all-pass filters is the same.  Then you need a third all pass filter with that same total delay to compensate the unfiltered data.  This is may be a non-trivial job for an expert, depending on the low pass filters.
What kind of noise are you seeing and how is it affecting your measurements?  Can you post some data?

  • OS Level and License Key Question?

Hi Everyone, new potential Apple user here.
I am going to buy 2 Apple G4 notepads for our children. I know they will not come with an OS so I my question is, is it like Windows where you have a license key on the bottom and you can use the same CD to install the OS on both machines and just use the License Key that comes with the Laptop or will have to buy 2 copies of the OS one for each machine?
Next question, is what is the highest level of OS I can go to?
Sorry if the questions seem a little dull.
    Thanks
    Martin.

Hey Martin and Welcome to Apple Discussions,
I am going to buy 2 Apple G4 notepads for our children.
It would help to know which model you're buying, especially the CPU speed since that will determine which OSs can be run.
.. like Windows where you have a license key on the bottom and you can use the same CD to install the OS on both machines and just use the License Key that comes with the Laptop or will have to buy 2 copies of the OS one for each machine?
There is no "license key" in Mac OS X land ;<). Get used to not having to type those ridiculously complex keys in at the 4 minute mark.
With the single user license you can officially load on one machine. With the family pack you can load up to 5.
<div class="jive-quote">Next question, is what is the highest level of OS I can go to?
In general all the G4 iBooks will run Leopard so 10.5.8 updated. The 12" 800 Ghz will run Tiger so 10.4.11 updated. That's official but the installer can be hacked to run in that machine.

  • Profit center - actual data and plan data question -?

    Hi Gurus
Please clear my doubts in profit cneter accounting.
    1) what is PLAN data  -? (What is planning in a bigger picture)
why do we need plan data -?
2)ACTAUL data will be posted in the profit center from other SAP moduldes.
So with out PLAN data  prrofits can not be figured -?
    OR
Plant data is for some other purpose -?
Please can some help me on these -? Alos any examples are really good for me to understand
    Really appreciate.
    Thanks
    Kris

    Hi,
Profit centers captures actual revenues & expenses of the business transaction.  The company arrives the
net of income over expenses and analyses whether the Profit center is making Profit or not.  Now they
want to control the expenses and have a target set to expand the revenue base to optimize profit.
For this they have to plan each costs and revenues over a period for a Profit Center.  When they
plan values for these profit centers they have to take into consideration the business trend over
next 12 months and the plan is set for each period.  Actuals are posted in normal day to day transactions.
During period end, the analysis is being done to see the variance between plan and actual and measures
are taken to control the areas to reduce these variance which may affect Profit.

  • TLS and message filter question

    Hello,
I don't believe this is possible because of the email workflow but I want to cover all bases.
    Here is the scenario:
    - We have 2 IronPort C350's. I have one that handles all normal outbound mail flow and the other handles CRE encryption as well as being set to TLS preferred for all outbound mail
-I have several outbound content filters set on the first box that will send to alt host (the second box) for either CRE encryption or simply delivered via TLS preferred.
-The filters that do not use CRE encryption are basically for SSN and HIPAA term matches from (careless) internal users who do not choose end-to-end encryption.
I was wondering if it were possible to have a rule set up on the second box to basically act on failed TLS requests for outbound messages and use CRE encryption?
Another option I was looking at was setting TLS to required and then setting up a rule to notify the internal sender of failed TLS.
My third option ( and the one I think I'll end up having to use) is to set the filters up to use CRE encryption instead.
Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks![/list]

I was wondering if it were possible to have a rule set up on the second box to basically act on failed TLS requests for outbound messages and use CRE encryption?
Currently, The IronPort is not able to turn over a failed TLS
    connection to another mechanism.
Another option I was looking at was setting TLS to required and then setting up a rule to notify the internal sender of failed TLS.
You can configure a workaround of sorts by creating specific bounce
profiles for domains that require TLS, and setting these profiles to
bounce messages within a short period of time 9 say 2 minutes or
    less).
That way, if the message is in the delivery queue and a TLS
connection cannot be verified to the recipient host, the message
    would bounce.
The bounce would contain a 5.4.7 error message stating that TLS was
unavailable. This workaround would depend on how savvy your users
    are at reading/understanding bounce messages.
My third option ( and the one I think I'll end up having to use) is to set the filters up to use CRE encryption instead.
This would probably be the best option.

  • Aggregation level in only bps ?

    hi friends,
can we need aggregation level in reporting for only bps module or for normal cubes also. so what is the if we use for normal cube alos.,
    Tu
    suneel.

Lets say you have fiscal period, fiscla year, GL account, amount, qty, product in the cube. But you wish to plan for GL account, fiscal period, fiscal year. Then you create an aggregation level for this and plan on GL account.
Similarly, you wish to plan for product, fiscal period, fiscal year and amout, then you create another aggregation level and plan for product.
Under this level, you further have filters, in which you restrict the values for the characteristics that you wish to plan.

  • How data update when there is two planning cubes in one aggregation level

If we have two planning cubes and a multi-cube includes these two planning cubes.
then we have the aggregation level defined based on this multi-cube.
if the characteristics and key figures defined in aggregation level all are included in these two planning cubes. When we plan the data with plan query based on this aggregation level, which plan cube will be updated with plan data, or both of them?

    HI Wang,
yes as Bindu said you need to restrict the layout based on the infoprovider.
Lets assume that we have a multi provider M1 and it has two planning cubes cube1 and cube1.
in case u develop a layout for updating cube 1 give the restriction in the filter section as infoprovider = cube1.
    or the vice versa.
Else ur layout must input values for both the cubes simultaneously, then in that case create two restricted KF with each having a restriction for cube1 and cube 2.
so wen the user enters value for the first restricted KF it will get saved in cube1 and wen he enters value for the second  restricted KF it will gets saved in cube2.
This is how it works. Guess this was useful to u.
    Regards.

  • IP question: Aggregation Level picture icon color?

We are pretty new on IP (Integrated Planning).  You know that the picture icon of Aggregation Level look like a two step stair.  When we check our BI 7.0 system, find for some aggregation levels, both the steps are white color, while for others, the top step is white color and the bottom step is blue color which looks like a small cube shape.  What are the difference?  The one with bottom step being the blue color means this aggregation level is activated and the one with both steps being white colors means they are inactivated?
Another question, as what we know, in order to do planning, the Cube must be real-time cube other than standard InfoCube in the setting of the cube, right?  In our system, we find the aggregation is built on a Multi-Provider and underlying the Multi-Provider, there are about 6 cubes.  But when we check all the 6 cubes, find the settings for these cubes are all set to Standard InfoCube.  That means with the aggregation level built upon this multi-provider, users can't do any planning, right?
We will give you reward points!

    Hi Kevin,
You can build a simple aggregation Level on a real time cube.
Aslo we can build AGgregation levels on Multi providers ( which must contain atleast one real time Cube) . These kind of aggregation levels are called as Complex Aggregation levels.
Also regd the Aggregation level Colours , your understanding is right.
