Agilent 34420, Instrument driver "down rev"

Hi all,
Unfortunately I am stuck with Labview 8.0 and need to use Agilent 34420 instrument driver. The versions I found online are not compatible with Labview 8.0. Is there a way to down rev the version and use it?
Is there any other database where I can download older revision of the driver?
Regards.

Just post to the version conversion board.

Be sure to attach the driver.

  • HP-Agilent 4191A instrument driver

    Hi everyone,
I'm looking to see if anyone's developed a driver for the HP-Agilent 4191A Impedence Analyzer. I found 4192A's and similar drivers, but they aren't compatible with the 4191A.
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Hey Matt,
If you have the manual for the 4191A, you can create your own instrument driver by using the instrument driver wizard.

  • Instrument driver for Agilent E5061A network analyzer

Is there a instrument driver for the Agilent E5061A network analyzer ? I couldn't find one neither on NIs Instrument Driver Network nor on Agilents site.
We are using Labwindows/CVI as development system.

Yes we are talking about the same driver, but i dont know why hp871x.c file was removed. However, hp871x.h and hp871x.fp are included.
Anyhow, look this comment into hp871x.cpp file:
In addition, if WIN32 is defined, _CVI_ may also be defined to indicate that the program is being compiled under LabWindows CVI.....
I guess it is not so hard to modify this source code (from hp871x.cpp to hp871x.c). Sorry for disturb you!!!

  • Instrument driver for agilent 8960 to run CDMA tests

Hi, just wonder if there is an instrument driver for agilent 8960 to run CDMA tests? I know 8960 has E1963 and E1968 driver, but 1963 is designed for W-CDMA and 1968 is for GSM/GPRS/EGPRS. So is there a driver designed for CDMA mode? Thanks a lot!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Unfortunately, it does not appear that there currently is one.  When I search the Instrument Driver Network I only find the two drivers that you pointed out.

  • Anyone has an instrument driver for Agilent E8364 50GHz PNA

Does anyone have a working instrument driver for the E8364 50GHz PNA? I am currently tryin to use the agpna instrument driver downloaded from NI but i am having errors. The PNA balks that the "query is unterminated" and then the VI times out. Please let me know if you have a working instrument driver.

Is this the driver you are downloading?
    If so,
    - Are you running the Getting Started VI to test communication?
    - Did the ID query pass?
    - Make sure you have VISA 2.6 or later installed.
    - Try running NI-spy with with the Log to File option enabled and post the spy capture.

  • Teststand call cvi instrument driver

I'm new to working with instrument drivers in TestStand. I'm trying to use TestStand to call a CVI instrument driver dll (for Agilent N5767 power supply), and then perform a specific function (init, set voltage, set current, etc.) All of the instruments in my test bench are connected via LAN, and they are configured in NI MAX too. I thought it was pretty straight forward, but I'm obviously missing something. Attached is the simple TS 3.1 seq file with the steps I'm trying perform.

    Hi Bkoch1,
Please elaborate on the problem you are experiencing. I am able to open the sequence file you have attached and view your steps and on the surface, this seems like it should work just fine. What indications are you experiencing that it does not work fine? Have you tried setting breakpoints and using the Watch Window to monitor variables to ensure that they are being passed into the DLL? Please explain what the problem is and try to narrow down where the problem occurs and we would be happy to help you.

  • Instrument Driver (66319B)

    Hi all,
i need assistance on locating an instrument driver for model no:   66319B , Power supply unit from Agilent Technologies.
    Currently using labview 8.0.
    Thank you.

Exactly why do you think that the driver is not supported with
LabVIEW 8? Installing the 7.1 version should allow it to be opened and
saved. Do you get an error message or something else when you try to
    open it?
Since it's an IVI driver, you can also create a 8.0 version directly. Look at the link here
about the instrument driver import wizard. All of the available LabVIEW
drivers for this instrument have used this wizard to create them.
Download just the CVI driver to do this.

  • Instrument driver not show up

I download the instrument driver for Agilent Signal Generator E4438C from NI, and unzip it to the folder instr.lib, restart the labview program, but it doesn't show up in the function palette -> Instrument I/O -> Instrument Driver. I also download the driver for R&S FSQ26, go through the same procedure and it does show up in the function palette.
Besides, in the tool ->Instrument ->Searching Instrument Driver, I could see the ESG driver "Agilent ESG Series" in the "Installed Instrument Driver". Could anyone help on this, thank you.
    OS: Windows XP SP2
    Labview Version: 8.5

I open the labview project of instrument driver "Agilent ESG Series.lvproj" and a VI, then save it without any change, and then save the project, restart the labview program and it does show up What a funny thing

  • Instrument driver import for 2010

The instrument driver import plug-in is not available for 2010 yet.  The work-around is obvious (import in 2009> copy>mass-compile) but a bit frustrating.

    Hi Brian
You're right. The 55292a usb expansion Module is from Agilent Technologies. It can house the Agilent 10887A calibrator board (ISA Slot) for the interferometer hp 5519A. Because we want to use this interferometer with a pc that has no ISA slot, we bougth that expansion module (3 years ago). Unfortunately the cd from agilent has no driver for this device. There's only a program on it. The other point is, that Agilent sold this device to another company and this company sold me this drivers (I think there are no others).
The problem is now, that Agilent don't support the device at all. The other company won't support the drivers running in LabView and national Instruments (Germany) also told me that they won't support me in this case.
But you were right about the COM library I think. I now can see the methods from the drivers, but they are grayed out (except two of them, see attachement).
Thanks for your offer to have a look at the dll. The problem is, that I had to buy this drivers and think the company wouldn't be happy to see me share them here... Can I send them by email to you? My adress is: [email protected]
Thank you very much for your help!

  • Agilent 53131A VISA Driver ?

    Hello !
I´m looking for a driver to Agilent 53131A...
The current driver for download don´t have/use
VISA (current driver is CERTIFIED by NI but VISA is not
    implemented, strange ?) !
    Software: Labview 7, Teststand 3
    I don´t like re-work...
    Thanks in advance
    Niklas Lithander
    NOTE Norrtelje AB

    Let's try again...
    Try these steps:
    1. Follow the link in my previous post.
    2. Download the "CVI" version.
    3. Extract the zipped contents into a temporary directory.
    4. Start LabView.
    5. Open a blank vi.
    6. Under TOOLS => Instrumentation => select "Import CVI instrument driver"
    7. Select "HP5313XA.FP" from your temp directory.
    8. It should select all already, so simply click on "OK".
    9. Let it convert.
    10. Go back to the "new" block diagram in LV.
    11. OPEN a file called "HP5313XA.llb". It is located in the instrument library inside your LabVIEW directory.
    12. Select the vi you want (ex: initialize.vi)
    13. It will be in VISA.
    14 )
    -enjoy-

  • Hp 4192 a instrument driver doesnt have a frequency output

    Hello friends
I am using Hp 4192 A impedance analayzer and I am using the drivers given in the Ni website. I am able to control the instrument with it ,but as the instrument driver has only two outputs for display A and display B i am not able to record the corresponding frequency measurements (which is the 3rd display) . Also with the same vi (the one which i wrote) it sometimes sweeps slowly , sometimes does it quickly but the sweep doesnt restart at 1000 kHz(sweep is supposed to be in loop), and sometimes it works perfectly. Its driving me nuts.
Please help me as my research needs measuements from impedance analyzer.
    Thanks

This shows the nuts and bolts of every driver for every instrument out there.  This is a query, which means you are expecting an answer.  Some commands just tell the equipment to do something, so you don't need the VISA read part of it.
This picture is intended only to show you how nice and clean it could be to make your own drivers in LabVIEW.  I highly recommend reading some sort of LabVIEW for Dummies kind of book AT LEAST.  That will show you how to do basic stuff in LabVIEW.  And of course, read the equipment manuals.  If you know how to use the instrument, you can concentrate on the programmer's guide.  If you don't know how to use the instrument... whew - usually HP/Agilent manuals are several hundred pages of boring reading, but they are very thorough about how to perform measurements!  After that, you are ready to ask questions here!
In fact, poke around your instrument's programmer's guide to see just what I told it to do.  If you can figure it out, then you are starting to understand the programming flow and it will be no time before you are writing your own stuff.
    Good luck!

  • Instrument Driver Tool has blank Source driver list.

I am trying to create an Instrument Driver form a template using the Instrument Driver Project Tool. When I launch the tool there are no drivers listed in the Source Driver pull down list. Does anyone know why this list would be blank and how to correct the problem?

If the Templates that are installed with LabVIEW are deleted they drop down menu will be blank. You can try restoring the templates (if they were recently deleted) or try to do repair for LabVIEW so the templates are re-installed.
