AGN Virtual Network Adapter

Why does AGN Network adapter install and what does it do?
I had two icons in network connections:
1. AGN Virtual Network Adapter
2. Local Area Connection
I am connected to an adsl router and am able to connect OK.
I disabled the AGN Virtual network adapter and am still able to connect ok.

Sorry, let me further add I get the following messages from Access connections after the wireless connection fails....
Error code: 011
Veyify that the encryption settings (WEP/TKIS/AES) specified in this profile match those expected by the wireless network
and
Verify that the wireless adapter in your computer has not been restricted from accessing the radio channels being used by the wireless newtork.
and
The wireless network name (SSID) specified in this profile shares the same radio channel as another wireless network that is in range.  To attempt to resolve this conflict, click repair.
None of these messages are helpful or should be the problem.  I had been using wireless access on this laptop with the same router for several years before 'uprading' the dirver...that's when my problems started.

  • Virtual Network Adapter (vEthernet) unauthenticated

    Hi,
I have a problem, with configuring a Virtual Network Adapter on SC VMM.
I created a logical switch with two physical network adapter (team) and add a virtual network adapter to the logical switch. After that a virtual network adapter will be created on the hyper-v host, but with the status "domain.local (unauthenticated).
With another hyper-v host it work without problems.
I tried to remove and recreate all that stuff but without success.
Do someone know that problem? Or can help to find a solution?
    Thank you for the help.
    Br,

    Hi Sir,
I searched for this issue but it seems  none fits your case :

Did you try to manually configure teaming on that hyper-v host , still same result ?

  • Cannot create new virtual network adapter on logical switch team

I am currently moving from Hyper-V 2012 to Hyper-V 2012 R2 and in turn I have just installed SCVMM 2012 R2. I am using SCVMM 2012 R2 to create some NIC teams which I have done no problem in the past with SCVMM 2012 SP1. Now we have everything set up just
like we did in the past and it seems to create the NIC team just fine. The problem is when I try to create a New Virtual Network Adapter, when I click the button, it immediately says:
VMM cannot create the virtual network adapter. Either there are no VM networks associated with the network sites that the uplink port profile "Logical Network Name" Connects to, or the VM networks associated with those network sites all use Hyper-V
    network virtualization.
Now I've checked and the VM Network is assigned to the logical network that is associated with the Network Site that contains the host I'm working with. I've also tried disabling Hyper-V network virtualization but that didn't change anything and I thought
that it's always enabled on 2012 R2 anyway.
I would like to gain network connectivity to this team at least for testing purposes and we also are planning on building a Hyper-V cluster. Were some new restrictions added in 2012 R2 to prevent creating virtual network adapters in this scenario or am I
    doing something wrong?
Any information would be helpful. Thank you in advance for your time!

    Hi Sir,
Glad to hear that the problem has been solved , thanks for your sharing .

  • Network Gurus: How to create a "virtual" network adapter?

We have an older Xserve (G4) with dual ethernet ports, running OS X Server 10.4 and FileMaker Server 5.5. One of the ethernet ports is connected to an internal network (behind the firewall), the other to an external network (in front of the firewall). There are appropriate IP addresses on each port. Thing is, I need FileMaker Server to be able to serve databases on BOTH network ports and it doesn’t seem to be capable. There’s a “preferred IP address” setting which lets me select the internal or external addresses, but not both.
Is there a way to create a "virtual" network adapter that I can point FileMaker Server to, but have all traffic from both ethernet ports go through this "virtual" adapter? Sort of like a 'software router'?

IMHO, a far, far better solution would be to turn on the VPN server built-into your Mac OS X Server.
That way remote users can connect to the VPN (automatically, even) and get assigned an IP address in the internal network. You gain a high degree of security knowing that only known, trusted external users can access your database. If you do configure Filemaker to listed on your public interface you have no practical way of preventing rogue users from accessing your data.
Since your server already has the VPN server installed, and any modern (or even semi-modern) client should be able to connect to it, I wouldn't look any further.

  • Virtual network adapter not showing as domain network

    Hi
I've got a Windows 8.1 machine that is connected to a domain on the LAN.
Before I installed Hyper-V the network showed up as "Domain Network" in the network and sharing center but when I installed Hyper-V I created a virtual switch (external) and since then the network has shown up as "Private Network".
This is on the Windows 8.1 host and the machine has full access to the LAN and the Internet and is using the domain for logins and permissions, which allows me to browse file shares on other machines on the network without having to sign-on. Most of the
time I'm not even running any virtual machines on the PC, I have Hyper-V for testing websites on different versions of IE.
The only problems I have are the network type not being detected correctly, my local firewall blocking lots of stuff I run on it (due to the firewall rules all being set up for a domain network) and also when I RDC to another machine it refuses to use saved
credentials as it can't identify the machine (I don't know if this is related to the domain network problem).
Has anyone any suggestions what could be going wrong or how I can diagnose the problem?
    Thanks

    Hi Mog00,
Could you please run command "ipconfig /all " and post the information here .
Maybe you can try "Troubleshoot Problems" in "Network and Sharing Center" to diagnose and repair network problems .

  • Possiblely a bug - windows update error when using NAT between Hyper-V Virtual Ethernet Adapter

I'm using SCVMM managing my Hyper-V machine.
I have three physical network adapter on my hyper-v host as below:
I'm using SCVMM 2012 SP1 to create two virtual network adapter base on each Realtek controller, Bridge the traffic from the physical adapter, NAT the traffic from the internal virtual adapter to the internet facing virtual adater.
I can access the internet but i got the windows update error as below
If i NAT the internal virtual adapter traffic to the WIFI physical  internal facing adapter, windows update is fine.
I'm using my hyper-v server windows NAT feature.
I did google a round, it looks like something wrong when you NAT the two virtual network adatper..
if anyone here can help, that's would be much appreciated.

  • New Intel WIFI Wireless Network Adapter does not recognize Wireless Router

I have had a Linksys BEFW11S4 Version 4 Wireless router for quite some time.  It works like a champ and I have one Laptop wired to it and a second using Wireless working just fine.  Recently, I received a new ThinkPad W500 Laptop with an Intel WIFI Link 5100 AGN wireless network adapter.  The older laptop that works just fine with the router uses a
11a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Express Adapter by Atheros.  However, the NEW laptop with the Intel Adapter fails to connect to the Router.  It will either indicate a failure while "Waiting for Association" or it will indicate a failure when waiting to "renew IP Address".  Sometimes, it will show a signal strength close to ZERO (Even as the older laptop with the other adapter is showing a signal strength close to 100%) When I called Linksys support, I was told that the facts that the Router (a) works find with the wired Laptop and (b) works fine with the 11a/b/g NEtwork Adapter and (c) works fine when WIRED to the new laptop all indicate that the problem is NOT with the router at all -- but with the Network Adapter.  Can anyone tell me what has to be adjusted in the Adapter settings?  Right now, I am using IBM Access Connections for BOTH of the wireless laptops.  I have made sure to set IDENTICAL values for SSID and WEP (128-bit) [static] password.  I have also ensured that all OTHER settings are the same for the two laptops.  Yet, in one laptop, there is NO PROBLEM while in the other, I can not get the Wireless Adapter to "see" the signal from the Router.  TO further check this, I have [temporarily] disabled the WEP password, enabled SSID broadcast, and disabled the MAC address restrictions that I put in (so that the system would be totally "open") yet the Intel Adapter STILL did not "find" anything.  In addition, when I use the "Find WIFI" feature in Access Connections, I find that SOMETIMES the network with SSID is found and sometimes, it will display "unknown network" and not pick up the SSID.
This is all very frustrating.  If anyone has experience with the Intel WIFI Link 5100 AGN Adapter, I would appreciate any hints, tricks, ideas, etc.
    Think you!!!!
    --Zvi

I installed the LATEST version of IBM Access Connections as well as verifying that I have teh LATEST drivers for the Intel Wireless NEtwork Adapter.
What now happens is that I am able to authenticate to the Router.  However, I get a failure on "renewing IP Address" -- which [according to the diagnostic message] means that the Rotuer fails to provide me with an IP address to use.  Do you have any suggestions?

  • When using Parallels for Windows 7, I cannot connect to Wi-Fi. I get drop down menu "Real Network Adapter Thunderbolt Bridge used by Virtual Adapter 1 is not connected to the network". How do I fix?

When I try to connect to internet wirelessly (Parallels/Windows 7 on my Mac Pro) I get a drop down that says "Real Network adapter thunderbolt bridge used by virtual adapter 1 is not connected to the network". I can not figure out how to connect - any help is appreciated!

Since you are having trouble with Parallels or Windows, did you ask in their respective support forums? If not, you might want to consider doing so.

How can i restore my connection.
    Thanks

    Hi,
According to the result of "ipconfig /all", the physical adapter dosen't appear.
Please check if the physical network adapter works properly. We can verify this in Device Manager.
To open Device Manager by using the Windows interface
Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
    Click Hardware and Sound.
    Click Device Manager.
If the network adapter is working properly, please make sure that the Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4) has been checked in the properties of the physical network adapter.
If issue persists, please try to uninstall the Oracle Virtual box.
    Best Regards.

  • Microsoft Virtual Machine Bus Network Adapter has a yellow !

Hi in my device manager the Microsoft Virtual Machine Bus Network Adapter ? the Microsoft Virtual Machine Bus Network Adapter has a yellow !
Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Hi
Firsly try to run Windows updates and see if it can be detected by Windows update and install apprpriate driver ..
Secondly if that did not work try to RIGHT click the  Microsoft Virtual Machine Bus Network Adapter and click update driver and choose let Windows look for driver .
                  Post me your findings

  • Network Adapter no longer displays in VirtualBox - Resolved

    Hi,
I'm running VirtualBox 4.1.22 on a Windows 7 laptop and have had the Developer Days image running successfully in the past. It was set up using a Bridged Adapter.
Recently, I've been working on setting up some new Virtual Machines and now, for some reason, my adapter does not display. This prevents my Developer Days VM from starting up, due to the error:
    "Nonexistent host networking interface, name 'Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6250 AGN' (VERR_INTERNAL_ERROR)."
The adapter and network connection using the 6250 that I'm attempting to bridge is still working fine.
Does anybody have any suggestions on how to get VirtualBox to recognize my adapter again?
    Thanks in advance.

    Issue Resolved!
During my attempts last week to configure another VM, I had encountered network issues. It looks like I had disabled the Virtual Box Bridged Networking Adapter. I just re-enabled it, and now the adapter shows back up in VirtualBox.
    Thanks,
    Matt

  • Server 2012 R2 - The system failed to register host (A or AAAA) resource records (RRs) for network adapter

We seem to be having an issue recently after introducing new Windows Server 2012 R2 servers where they fail to register DNS correctly. The Windows Firewall is off and the servers are on the same VLAN with no firewalls between them.
When I do an ipconfig /registerdns or wait 24 hours for the system to try we get the following error:
The system failed to register host (A or AAAA) resource records (RRs) for network adapter
    with settings:
               Adapter Name : {4A0ECF05-193F-4BEA-AA46-BEC593BA752B}
               Host Name : SRV-DATA
               Primary Domain Suffix : internal.local
               DNS server list :
    192.168.0.50, 192.168.0.42
Sent update to server : <?>
               IP Address(es) :
                 192.168.0.99
The reason the system could not register these RRs was because the DNS server contacted refused the update request. The reasons for this might be (a) you are not allowed to update the specified DNS domain name, or (b) because the DNS server authoritative
for this name does not support the DNS dynamic update protocol.
To register the DNS host (A or AAAA) resource records using the specific DNS domain name and IP addresses for this adapter, contact your DNS server or network systems administrator.
On our DNS server we have set for the internal.local zone Secure Updates only so that looks good because it is Active Directory that should be handling this authentication to update the record I assume. Just to mention that when also doing an ipconfig /regsiterdns
the update fails within a few seconds.

This issue is only affecting Windows Server 2012 R2 clients and testing with Windows Server 2008 R2 clients works no issues. So is this a mis-configuration or a bug with Windows 2012 R2? I have checked all DNS settings on client / server which all look good
to me so reaching out now to see if anyone has any ideas?
    Environment:
    - Windows Server 2012 R2 Domain Controllers (Forest/Domain Levels 2012 R2)

The zone is configured as "Secure Only"
The PDC is the SOA for the zone
I dont have a packet capture from the DC, only the client.

    thank u
    alex

    Hi Alex,
If you are using a standard virtual switch in SCVMM, then you should only need to add the multiplexor adapter to the virtual switch, do not add the physical adapters.
If you are using a logical switch then since VMM will create the team, its important that you do not team the two physical adapters in advance, instead you just add the two unteamed physical adapters directly to the logical switch and VMM will team
them automatically according to the settings specified in the port profile.
For the above to work you need to make sure the logical switch (in my case "Datacenter Switch") has the uplink mode set to "Team".  The uplink port profile will also need to contain the desired teaming mode and load balancing algorithm.
