AGP of MSI 6163 Pro (MSI 6163 Ver2)

Hi..wondering if anyone can tell me if msi 6163 Pro (msi 6163 Ver2) can support GF2 Ti Video Card?
Been thinking of getting the Inno3D GF2 Ti Card, but is not able to find info as to whether it will work on it.

and the MSI-6163 v1.0 can support a gf2mx agp card (it's an asus v7100 deluxe)?. I tried to install it but windows98 can't recognise Cd-rom because it says it is a conflict in the bus controller (the exact address is f000-f000f) and it was no way to make it run well. I had to reinstall the old intel740 8mb agp card, and making so the pc become to run properly just like before installing the gf2mx card. Can anyone help me? I'm getting mad about this... :(

Hello all!
Need a little help today.
I have a MSI NX6600 AGP Card & MSI 7008, VIA PT880 Motherboard that are giving me some headaches.If I try any NVIDIA driver above version 71.25 the graphics (2d and 3d) are very badly distorted. The desktop screen is unreadable and any software I try to run looks warped and garbled. I am using an Antec case with a 350w Antec PSU. Both the motherboard and video card are from MSI. This is the second video card I try, I RMA'd the first one. If I use an older AGP card (Ti4200) all graphics display perfectly. Is there something I can do to fix the problem? Is there a compatibility problem between the VIA chip and the NVIDIA 6600 chip?
I'd appreciate a push in the right direction!

I had these 2d-issues with 6600GT and RMA'd the card, hope I'll get newer revision... none of the fixes helped.

Can't update my AGP driver MSI 648 Max-L

Hello, I have the MSI 648 Max-L (SiS 648 motherboard).
When I try to update the SiS AGP driver from 1.13 to anything newer (the latest is 1.16a), nothing happens. The installer fails to run.
What seems to be wrong?
Specs:
WinXP SP1
MSI 648
512MB PC2700
Radeon 9700Pro

XFX GeForce 7600GS 512mb AGP with MSI K7N2 Delta Problem

Hi, I have been searching in everyplace and still I havent find a solution.
I have the XFX GeForce 7600GS 512mb AGP card.
I use the MSI K7N2 Delta.
My Processor its the AMD 2600+ XP
my PSU its a 420watt
my RAM its 2gb DDR 400
I made everything in the bios, didnt work.
I updated the lastest drivers and bios, didnt work.
I went to a friend house, he use a P4 motherboard with 500watts. Worked, PERFECTLY.
I changed the card once (the first one didnt worked at all) but this one worked...
now the question is:
HOW I MAKE IT WORK IN MY PC ?????????
Can anyone help me? I dont wanna sell it to a friend for only 60$ (that the only costumer I have found for the card in Panama)

Remember that my ram its a Kingston 400DDR 2X1 Gb running in the purple and the green slots of the mobo. when we changed them to both purples slots of the mobo the PC dosent work and make a the beep sound. I have the braket in my computer and it showed a red dot here: GR

AGP on MSI 648MAX - HELP!?

How do you disable 8x AGP. My ATI is running at 8x but I want it at 4x. Can anyone help me?

right click on ur desktop goto properties, goto settings, then advanced goto the smart gart tab and you'll see the options for fastwrites and the AGP rates.
note: Must have ATI catalyst driver installed with control panel.

MSI 845PE (ver2) Codec problem

Need help on the following problem:
On my system I can play (media player) DivX with MP3 sound (stereo), but no AC3 sound.
I have registered the AC3 sound codecs (iviaudio.ax & mpegaudio.ax, but the media player crashes. With no codecs everything OK but no sound on AC3.
Seems to be a Realtek ALC650 cip non-compatibility.
In all other cases/apps sound OK.
I run Win2k SP3 on:

512MB (DDR333)
PIV 2.53GHz/533
Leadtek A280 MyVIVO GForce4 128MB

How do I enable AGP 4x on 815e Pro?

Hi, I've seen a couple of posts on usenet about AGP 4x not being enabled on MSI 815E Pro (6337) mobos, and I was wondering if anyone has been able to figure out how to enable it. I have a GeForce 2 MX400 video card and it's only set to access AGP 2x, even though the manual for the 815E Pro says it supports 4x. Thank you in advance for any assistance and/or suggestions 8)

1'st thing is to install the latest intel inf (depending on your OS it might not be needed - winME and probobly XP using the i815 chipset will not need to be updated).

G4 450 AGP to Radeon 9800 Pro upgrade low down.

I have been looking to upgrade my G4 450 AGP graphics card. I'm running 2-22" ViewSonic 2235's at 1680x 1050 w/ Rage 128 AGP and PCI cards. I've learned that this G4 has 2x AGP slot and few cards fit, namely ATI's Radeon X800 XT or Radeon 9800 Pro, both Mac Editions. Price eliminates the X800. 9800 comes in 128MB or 256MB flavors. Questions: 1. Is there any real advantage to the 256MB version aside from dual DVI output vs 1 DVI 1VGA? 2. Having seen max resolution at 2050x...; Is this resolution per dual monitor channel or will I have to lower my 1680 to a 1024 per screen. Thanks folks.

but why do you need more on the G4, the machine can't handle any software that requires 256MB of video memory anyway.
The only one who would say that, is someone who has settled for less.
There is a BIG difference between the other cards, and a 9800, even on an "old" machine.
I see all kinds of improvements in applications, the OS, system performance, etc., as compared to my old 9000 (64mb). The difference is night and day!

AGP Graphics error - MacBook Pro

I just installed FC Express HD. When I go to launch it, i get an error that says "Configuration Error - Need AGP Graphics Card". I have a new MacBook Pro Intel. I thought this thing had what I needed. Newbie here so maybe I'm doing something wrong. Any ideas? Thanks everyone.

Yes - a lot of people are still selling off the old stuff, often at top prices.
The Intel Macs came out in January and many reputable places started selling off the obsolete FCE 3.0 for half price back in February. I picked up a brand spanking new FCE 3.0 HD for £20 a couple of weeks ago and was able to get rid of my dog-eared copy for quite a profit!

655max: video CRASH with agp 8x RADEON 9700 pro

Hi I own a 655max mobo and a radeon 9700 pro. I play games direct3d OK with agp 8x, but when I play Quake 3 Arena for about 15 to 30 min my video crash. I changed the agp 8x to 4x and everything works fine, but the framerate slow down seriously.
My system:
P4 2.6 @ 2.8

ok i just tried to do that kaigon and the strangest thing happened, my system will not respond or start up with radeon in now... it will however if i leave the supplemental power plug off of the radeon, it starts, then gives me the error telling em to connect it, then when i connect it and hit power...nothing. pop in my old gf2 and fires right up, i dont understand this at all especially because the first time i turned my system on was with the radeon, with supplemental poower plugged in. i tried everything i could think of in the BIOS to straighten this out, but nothing, any more help would be awesome! thanks.

FSB/RAM/AGP setting on K7n420 Pro?

After reading through the forums, I noticed someone said they weren't getting the correct speed from their processor. I'd never checked if my processor was running at the right speed or not (AMD XP 1800+), I just took for granted it was running at the speed it was supposed to. But after checking I noticed it was only running at 1.1ghz. I checked the specs for the AMD XP 1800 and it is supposed to run at 1.5ghz
So following the advice in the thread I changed the settings to 133/266/66. The specs now states it is running at 1.54ghz (After a year running at 1.1ghz).
Is that safe enough for my mobo? As I don't want to do any damage to it. I do find my computer more noisier than before..or maybe it's my imagination?
I stupidly never took note of what the settings were before. I know the FSB was at 100 though.
So, is it safe enough to leave it at 133/26/66? If not, what setting would be safer for it?

Msi 6600gt AGP, broken image when starting up!?, driver´s or hard problem...

the thing is that sometimes when starting up windows it givers a broken image, like lot´s of artifacts.
I´m gone try a nv detonator clean up since it´s the second card i´ve tried with this config´s.
any piece of advice??...

I know your problem. Solution is very easy.
Go to nvidia display options, and under the tab "Digital Flat panel Settings", select Monitor scaling or Aspect Ratio scaling. If you choose "Adapter scaling" then you get that fuzzy screen while bootup.
Also, i think latest bios for NX6600gt agp from msi solved that problem, use Liveupdate utility3 to obtain it.

MSI GF4 Ti-4200 doesnt work with WindowsXP

I can't get the MSI display tools to work - it crashes,
the vbios.dll doesnt load, it also crashes.
the tv in doesnt work ,it crashes
the tv out doesnt work ,it crashes.
all the supplied software also crashes "application has encountered an error and cannot continue. sorry for any inconvenience"
the intervideo software (windvr, wincoder, winproducer) and MSI PVI software all crashes as well.
what's the deal with this stuff? ?(

Has ANYONE been able to make the InterVideo WinProducer 2 software, that comes with the retail version of the MSI G4Ti4200-VTD64 card, work successfully under the Windows XP Home or Pro operating system?
If the answer is YES, then I will begin investigating why my system can't.
If the answer is NO, then I only ask for other people's recommendations of what software WILL work in place of that. I NEED those functions to work. That's why I paid extra for the VIVO.
All we've heard so far in this thread are NO votes. I would like to see just how widespread this is. If I can find ONE person who claims it works fine on his/her computer under Windows XP, then my NEXT question would be if they had to do anything different to make it run, or was it just a straight install? Did they add the program patch available from the MSI website? See where I'm going with this?

BTW, I would think when investigating a program's FLAT refusal to run, that the MOST important things aren't listed in these signature files. It has to do with what ELSE is running at the same time. Which services are running and which are NOT? What memory resident programs are loaded at boot-up? Any service packs installed? How about any security patches from Microsoft? Which anti-virus software (if any)? Which DirectX version? Personal firewall? Etc., etc.
Granted, the hardware DOES have a factor, but I feel all of these are MORE important factors than the speed or brand of a persons hardware. I look at the signitures more as bragging rights than anything else.
Now, this is just my opinion and may not reflect the feelings of the more sane people around me.

MSI FX5500-TD256 fix possible?

Hello, I have a big prob with my agp card (MSI FX5500-TD256)...I use to have a PNY GeForce MX440 installed...and that worked great..but when I upgraded to the 5500...my Pc reboots on high graphic games (IE: Dungeon Seige2...Diablo2..even..Ultima Online). I have Win XP Pro. (Not 64bit)...I do not have any service pack installed. I have DirectX 9.0c....my PSU is 450Watts. I have downloaded the newest MSI drivers (that didnt correct the prob). I rolled back driver to the one that came with the 5500 card (7.7.7.2version)...I am totally stumped. Plz..if anyone knows how to correct this graphic nightmare....I would really appreciate any help. Okies...I went to the ECS website and look for updates on my mobo. They have issued a bios update..which is suppose to fix a known issue with my particular board and NVidia chipsets. The update is suppose to be burnt to a floppy and read in dos upon restart. My Pc hangs on posting saying "invalid system disk" until the floppy is removed.
