AGP on MSI 648MAX - HELP!?

How do you disable 8x AGP. My ATI is running at 8x but I want it at 4x. Can anyone help me?

right click on ur desktop goto properties, goto settings, then advanced goto the smart gart tab and you'll see the options for fastwrites and the AGP rates.
note: Must have ATI catalyst driver installed with control panel.

Optimize my BIOS - MSI 648max - help

Here's a list of relevant hardware:

Corsair 512MB DDR 400, CAS Latency 2-3-3-6-T1

So, what are my best settings for AGP aperture, CAS, FSB, and whatnot ?
Also, my OS is XPHome and there are some BIOS settings that seem dependent on the OS... should I change those?

Problems with MSI-648MAX!!!

Now i need some help from someone that works from MSI!
My MSI-648MAX crash all time in games and even windows after some minutes with my brand new radeon 9700pro!
I got all laters drivers from ATi and i got sis 1.11 agp driver but i dont know how i will install the new sis 1.12 that was released from MSI.
PLZ Help me out form this hell i want my Radeon 9700pro to work!
My MSI most make a bios upgrade for MSI648max!

How much did u guys pay for ur 648 Ultras?
Cause i just got some REAL 5ns DDR400 from Kingmax and it doesnt work with my mobo... when i OC it and the memory goes to 400mhz, its not stable, its not even stable at 380mhz. Sometimes not even 354mhz. My Samsung ddr333 was more stable in OC than this ram. I think it is becasue my ram is JEDEC approved real ddr400 and i845E CHIPSET is unstable with 5ns ram???
Cause i tried the ram in a 645 Ultra and it worked fine at 400MHz...
dunno, cause i see ppl with ddr 433mhz on their i845E..
If any1 can help, i would greatly appreciate it.. ;(

The rails are as follows:
+3.3v = 3.26v (high=3.26 low=3.25)
+5v = 5.11v (high=5.11 low=5.08)
+12v = 11.9v (high=12.1 low=11.9)
They are all within +-0.3v to 0.5v for each rail.
My Vcore = 1.44 (high=1.44 low=1.42) This Vcore is way low compared to the 1.712 that icetea40r mentions his 645E Max U is running. Is this my problem? Do I just have my Vcore set way, way low?
The motherboard is running Windows 2000 (Version 5.0, Service Pack 4). Fuzzy Logic 4 will not display Memory voltage or AGP Voltage. It displays “N/A” for both. It displays the CPU voltage correctly.
The memory is Seitec 256 MB PC2700 DDR 333 MHz CL 2.5 (which I purchased as installed “house memory” when I purchased the motherboard. The AGP slot is occupied by an ATI Radeon 9000 Pro. The CPU is a 2.53 GHz Pentium 4 Northwood. I have never successfully used Fuzzy Logic to adjust the system status or overclock the system. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Fuzzy Logic but it still has the same problems.

MSI NX6600 AGP Card & MSI 7008, VIA PT880 Motherboard Compatible?

Hello all!
Need a little help today.
I have a MSI NX6600 AGP Card & MSI 7008, VIA PT880 Motherboard that are giving me some headaches.If I try any NVIDIA driver above version 71.25 the graphics (2d and 3d) are very badly distorted. The desktop screen is unreadable and any software I try to run looks warped and garbled. I am using an Antec case with a 350w Antec PSU. Both the motherboard and video card are from MSI. This is the second video card I try, I RMA'd the first one. If I use an older AGP card (Ti4200) all graphics display perfectly. Is there something I can do to fix the problem? Is there a compatibility problem between the VIA chip and the NVIDIA 6600 chip?
I'd appreciate a push in the right direction!

I had these 2d-issues with 6600GT and RMA'd the card, hope I'll get newer revision... none of the fixes helped.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

Msi nx6800gt agp atrifact problem pls HELP!!!

well guys need a help, a real bit starnge problem im facing, i got a MSI NX6800GT 256MB DDR3 AGP graphic card, the system boots up well no issues in the 2d mode but when i ran cod2 i faced kind of shall i say pixel sized squares appearing during gameplay the same was noticed playing f.e.a.r also, i chcked the card with riva tuner it showed the card as a proper 6800gt with 16pipelines etc i dont knw whts the problem i tried the same card in my frnds system also, he is running a gainward 6800gt golden sample we noticed the same kind of square artifacts which run all round the screen sometimes very few but i think as the game goes on its more, the card was run at stock speed of 350/1000 and the temp maintains at 62 degrees...
the system tested on had specs amd 3400+ 754 on a asus k8ne dlx mobo, with 1 gb twinmoss ram, an 500w power supply, the 3dmark2005 scroce is 4736pts, an we noticed these spots even during the benchmark....
the driver version used was 71.77 series then we used the 66 series an even msi's default series or drivers but to no avail pls do guide me on this guys it wud be really really helpful...

i tired tht also, infact in the very begening the new forceware drivers were used then we tried the others, actually the artifacts are not like polygons or anthying they are square sized pixels tht appear on the screen, the monitor used was a viewsonic 17'' flat screen and the res was 1024 X 768.
we saw some serious square pixels in bf2, cod2 an even fear! 3dmark05 also displayed the same, do you think its a problem with the card or the cooling, the temp of the card remains between 56-62 deg.
we dont wanna underclock te card as i think it wud void the warranty!

AGP of MSI 6163 Pro (MSI 6163 Ver2)

Hi..wondering if anyone can tell me if msi 6163 Pro (msi 6163 Ver2) can support GF2 Ti Video Card?
Been thinking of getting the Inno3D GF2 Ti Card, but is not able to find info as to whether it will work on it.

and the MSI-6163 v1.0 can support a gf2mx agp card (it's an asus v7100 deluxe)?. I tried to install it but windows98 can't recognise Cd-rom because it says it is a conflict in the bus controller (the exact address is f000-f000f) and it was no way to make it run well. I had to reinstall the old intel740 8mb agp card, and making so the pc become to run properly just like before installing the gf2mx card. Can anyone help me? I'm getting mad about this... :(

XFX GeForce 7600GS 512mb AGP with MSI K7N2 Delta Problem

Hi, I have been searching in everyplace and still I havent find a solution.
I have the XFX GeForce 7600GS 512mb AGP card.
I use the MSI K7N2 Delta.
My Processor its the AMD 2600+ XP
my PSU its a 420watt
my RAM its 2gb DDR 400
I made everything in the bios, didnt work.
I updated the lastest drivers and bios, didnt work.
I went to a friend house, he use a P4 motherboard with 500watts. Worked, PERFECTLY.
I changed the card once (the first one didnt worked at all) but this one worked...
now the question is:
HOW I MAKE IT WORK IN MY PC ?????????
Can anyone help me? I dont wanna sell it to a friend for only 60$ (that the only costumer I have found for the card in Panama)

Heh I had problems with trying to see again was what happening in my PC but yesterday....
Ok I went to my friend house, we used the card with his 350 watts 15A in the 12V+ and it worked.
Then we tried to install the PSU but I dont know why its 4pin was incompatible with mine....
Well heres the important part: I went to a local Computer Store where they repair too and with another more powerfull PSU in my PC and the card didnt worked for seconds, but the guy played a little with my Ram and he noticed that its posible to that be the problem. Remember that my ram its a Kingston 400DDR 2X1 Gb running in the purple and the green slots of the mobo. when we changed them to both purples slots of the mobo the PC dosent work and make a the beep sound. I have the braket in my computer and it showed a red dot here: GR

Agp/pci clock locking help please

i have the 865pe neo, using patriot memory with winbond 5ns chip, have no problem running at 250mhz in corecenter, however when i try to o/c in bios, when with the agp/pci clock locked, i can still it increasing up to 80mhz/xxxmhz as i increase the front bus speed of the cpu, anyone having the same problem with this board? will new bios fix this? by the way , i can't manually change the agp/pci clock , it's grayed out and "locked" this ths only option available under "apg/pci clock" there's no manual setting, soeone please help i can bring this board back to get the 875p if thats needed

MSI have this feature locked to prevent us from o/c the CPU multipiler settings. Can't say that whether this is good or bad for o/clockers like us. Unlike Abit which unlocks everything, MSI keep settings to what the mobo detects the CPU model is, i.e, if you're running a P4 2.4, then your Multipiler settings will be 18x with 133 FSB x 4 to make 2400+- MHz, try calculating the mathematics way and you'll know how far you can o/c to.
Corecenter o/cing is another way MSI sets as it will directly show you the speed your CPU is running at vs the multipiler settings.

Ah I see, my P33 board is missing the sticker that was over the original printing of the board,
the specs of the P33 does say 8GB max and the E43 says 4GB max, hmm.. the P33 has an upgrade yet downgrade with less output options

Hello, I have the MSI 648 Max-L (SiS 648 motherboard).
When I try to update the SiS AGP driver from 1.13 to anything newer (the latest is 1.16a), nothing happens. The installer fails to run.
What seems to be wrong?
Specs:
WinXP SP1

512MB PC2700

MSI GT70 Help with finding NVIDIA drivers

I just bought an MSI GT70 which has a Nvidia GeForce GTX 780M GPU. I tried updating to the latest driver detected by my Nvidia Experience (v.320.490) but, it gave me an error that it is unable to install because the hardware cant be detected. I tried the next best thing which is the main Nvidia website. When I tried the Detect my Gpu button and it detected it it said "Your product manufacturer requires you to download a driver for your device from their website". So I went to the MSI website but I can't seem to find the notebook driver. Also tried the Live Update but that seems to only update your inegrated graphics. I need some help updating my GPU guys. Thanks in advance.

Thanks It Installed but I'm afraid I hit a road block. You see when I installed the driver I tried to go the Nvidia Control Panel and I couldn't find it. I checked my Nvidia Experience and it says that my driver is up to date but when I looked at My Rig panel but the GPU section is blank. Thought it was odd so i went to Device Manager to check whats up. Under Device Status I had this message "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)". I tried restarting the laptop a few times with an extremely horrible results. Every time I restarted my computer just started with a black screen and froze there ( I waited 30 minutes and I'm sure that was enough to know it froze). Although I did find a back door which was um.. I'm not sure which Fx it was because I just spammed them all ( this was after the multiple restarts). This took me to a menu which gave me the option to start windows normally able to access the laptop. From here I thought to Roll Back the driver. To my luck this was a success now my computer works fine and I am able to access the Nvidia control panel like nothing happen. I'm sure it the correct driver since its the same laptop I bought. Now this is were I need help from you guys any ideas why the driver is doing this? ( Oh and I re-downloaded and installed the driver a few times so I know there is a problem.) MSI overdrive help!

I downloaded MSI Overdrive because of its ability to increase the voltage of the graphics GPU. I have a MSI 8800gt with the Zalman heatpipe attached. Unforutnately, the 8800gt will not over volt, This sucks! I've got this amazing cooling solution and I can't increase the voltage. Gigabyte has an over volting option in their bios .01,.02,.03 just like AGP. Unfortunately, MSI did not include this feature in the P35 NEO-2 FR.
Is there a list of graphics cards that will over volt in MSI Afterburner? I can't find the information anywhere.

You are confused, AGP voltage has nothing to do with GPU core voltage.
