Ah, I must be getting advanced - I'm making a mess! - Need advice.
I'm starting to love to shoot using my Canon 7D and starting to get lots of footage in files that I want to keep as my originals. Since there are often two or three different subjects I want to reference in each file for future use, I would like to know:
1.) What is the best way to name files, or to catalog files so I can go back and find that exploding whale pic years from now? I'm thinking a separate 2TB drive just for raw footage might be what I should use for an archive of raw only unedited files as they come from the camera.
2.) What is the quickest way to review files after they are shot? I get a bunch and want to glance over them quickly to see if there is anything useful. My Dad used to shoot 8mm film and had an editing wheel that he could crank away at high speed and see what was there, easily slowing down to more closely examine footage of interest. Any way to do this with digital footage?

If you bought the boxed set of Logic Studio 2.0 which includes LP9, then you cannot download it. You must use the disks that came as part of the boxed set... to install from.
If you bought the App Store version of Logic Pro 9 then go to the Mac App Store App, Sign into the Store using the same Apple ID you used to purchase LP originally, look under the Purchase Tab and you shouldl find LP9 ready and waiting for you to download and install. -
I have a Mac and even though Flash (11.something) says it's installed, I still get messages (FB, youtube, pandora) saying I need the latest version (10 something). I have it!

i save my photos to camera roll. then back up but can't see it on icloud. why? we just lost 300 photos on my other iphone because we do not get proper help. that's why i need to learn now.
You can't view your back up files at icloud.com.
You can't view your camera roll and you can't view your Photo Stream files at icloud.com.
The icloud back up plan allows you to "restore" your iOS device from the files you backed up at icloud.com. -

I am trying to restore an older iPod Touch, but do not have the passcode. I am getting an error message saying that I need to free up some space, but I cannot because I don't have the passcode and have never synced this device to my account. Help..
If it is asking for the screen-lock passcode then:
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

To restore from backup see:

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

I keep getting an error message that Apple TV needs authorization
I have two 2nd generation apple tv units. The second one I installed does everything fine, streams from my Mac, pulls down itunes store for trailers and logs on to itunes store, but when I try to buy or rent I get an error message that the unit needs to be authorized. As a result I can only see previews and cannot rent or buy anything.
I give up... what is the solution?FOr some now, my ATV 2 does not show in my devices list on iTunes. Now, as of today, I keep getting an error message when trying to rent a movie through iTunes that I need to contact iTunes support to complete the transaction. Also, the ATV 2 does not show on my MacBook Air iTunes app. The ATV 2 will stream netflix and play movie trailers so I know it's on my wireless network---but for some reason, I can't see it on my iTunes. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and what to do about it?

My computer crashed and I have to get my data from my old drive to another computer, to ensure I get all my data what do I need to get. I have and ipad and an iphone. I need to get apps, contacts, pictures, etc. Is there a way to do this? It was a vista pc and the new is win 7. I can grab the backup files, and music, but what about my apps? I do not want to sync on the new pc since the apps aren't there. Were are the app files located in itunes? Can I just copy them to the new computer?
You can transfer itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
The iphone is not a storage/backup device. The sync is one way - computer to iphone. The exception is itunes purchases.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer. Use your backup copy to put everything back. -
Unable to get page with video to validate and need help getting text to display correctly
I need advice on getting a page to validate that has a video. I didn't make the video, but all other pages vallidate that don't have it.
Also, when testing viewing on ie with large font view the navigation bar on the left doesn't display correctly. I've tried all fixes I can think of, but none work.

I think IE sucks and this is another fine example of MS's zeal to pile on user options that no one should use. If MS made their zoom feature optional the way Firefox does, nobody would ever need this atrocious "accessibility" option.

I perviously transfered all my iTunes music to an external hard drive. But now when I connect the external hard drive and try to play a song, I get an error message saying that I need to "locate" my music. I don't how to find it on my external hard drive. Please help for I am not that computer savy and don't want to mess anything up.
Thanks!I called Apple Support and they walked me through it. They told me to basically copy and paste my music to the external hard drive. (I think.) Or maybe it was they had me transfer a folder to the EHD. I don't exactally remember it was a few years back. But I tried to plug in the EHD before starting and...nothing. Still says same thing, "locate file."

I have been trying to reinstall iTunes but I have been getting error messages. One says I need a fileMSVCR80.dll, one says error 7 and the last one says windows error126.

where can i download quicktime 7.5.5? A compatibility version gets downloaded but its not what I need. Im unable to open my ITUNES without the quicktime 7.5.5 upgrade or higher. Anything higher isnt supported by my mac ( OS X 10.5)
