AI CC 2014 slow

The new AI CC 2014 is running okay but moving objects and saving files are slower than the previous version. I've turned off snapping, etc but it's acting "chunky" and not smooth and fast like before. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I'm on an iMac running Mavericks 10.9.3. Please advise. Thanks!

Same exact issue but on a PC.
Saves are taking way too long, moving anything on the timeline has a delay, copy and paste a clip has a massive delay, even scrubbing after not scrubbing for a while has a delay.
If I go back to CC it works perfectly so I guess that is what I will do for now.
**Edit** Also forgot to mention that 2014 was working fine this morning. These chop/slow issues started happening a few hours ago.....

  • PS CC 2014 Slow Layer Switch

    I am running PS CC 2014 on a 27 inch iMac. My version of PS is up to date. But I've been having problems with sluggish performance for three to four days.
    I try to switch between layers using the shortcuts and it's really slow. Even when I switch to an adjustment layer, the properties tab takes almost a second to load. I even re-installed a clean copy of OS X 10.9.4. But I still have the same issues.
    I am totally going insane now. I really hope to fix this issue.
    My System :
    Processor  3.2 GHz Intel Core i5
    Memory  24 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675MX 1024 MB
    Has the current versiona of Photoshop, Lightroom and Bridge.

    Here's the thing. I don't have any other extra plugin installed. To eliminate any OS issues, I installed a clean copy and then used photoshop without installing any other softwares. Just my OS X and Photoshop without any modifications.
    But still, I have the same problem. The other thing is that, when I use alt +[ or ] to cycle layers, it's slow. If I save the same thing as an action and run the action, I'm able to switch to another layer instantly.

  • Why does CC 2014 slow down my system

    Huge Fan. Serious problem. Brand new 1 Terabyte Hard Drive in my MBP.  2 Gigs of RAM
    So loaded all my software into the computer, which has been working fabulous for years. Had CC 2013 for all our Adobe products. When loading the new suite with CC 2014 --- now Illustrator takes 5 minutes to open a 3mg Business card file. 3 minutes to save it as a PDF or AI file. PLEASE... someone tell me if I can get the old CC 2013 suite instead of this one?
    I have looked for the Adobe Driver, as various discussions seem to indicate that this is an issue, yet I cannot see a folder by this name nor does it show up in my library folder.
    Thoughts?
    Does anyone from Adobe read this?

    Threads a while back suggested that Word 2004 could run slow on Intels because it was not universal and used Rosetta. 512 memory, standard intel mac mini issue at first, was often problematic you needed at least 1gb which they now ship with. Maybe having not one but two applications open within Word is still causing the problem. But the G4 I find harder to understand: at any rate my own Word 2004 works fine on this G4 macmini (and on an old G3 iBook). Though I only use Word not Excel.
    I bought this G4 secondhand on eBay because I knew from threads in the forum about problems with Word that the early intels were having so I didn't go for a new machine. I gather that the next Word for Mac which will be universal is due out early in the New Year, having first been forecast for 2007.

    Please report the exact version of Premiere as displayed in the About box. "CC" is not specific enough given that there are now 9 releases under that banner. Nor is "the most recent update of CC" as that could apply to CC7.2.2 or CC2014.1.
    If you're on 2014.1, then another customer with no video in the monitors resolved it by disabling GPU acceleration (set Renderer to Software Only on File>Project Settings>General.) No Video in Source or Program monitors with PremierePro 2014 update. And at least two customers have reported that clearing the prefs resolved performance issues on Mac.

  • Premiere 2014 slow playback

    Just updated from CC to 2014 and wow... Playback with H.264 proxy files are super slow and choppy. I thought it was my graphics card (Quadro 600) so I upgraded to a GTX 660. No difference. Playback is still slow.
    I'm confused cause playback was flawless on Premiere CC. Really strange and frustrating.
    Not sure what to do. Any help?

  • Illustrator CC 2014 slow opening networked files on some PC's

    Have 6 PC's running CC 2014. 5 Win 7 Pro 64, one Home 32. Two weeks ago two of the pro 64 PC's are pausing for 20 seconds opening or saving illustrator files of any size on the network (Server 2008 R2). No issues with any other programs or any of the other PC's. Opening the same file saved on the local HDD is fine. This started I believe after some MS updates about two weeks ago.
    Watching the network packets/sec graph selecting the file to open on the network there will be almost no data transfer for 15 seconds then it shoots up and opens even a 15mb file in 1 second. All PC's received the MS updates and I cant figure out why its happening on only two machines. Happens whether opening in explorer on the mapped drive, opening from the file-open menu or opening by browsing the network instead of through the mapped drive.
    Everything else is fine, even copying the file takes half a second, its just opening over the network on these two machines.

    Porkkana,
    Concerning files from network, it is always recommended here to open/save from/to own hard disk, and to copy from/to networks and removable media. You may be lucky (for a while), but the chances of file corruption and other unpleasantnesses are immensely greater when you use anything but the harddisk, and it is better to be safe than sorry.
    In addition to the (far greater) risk of file corruption, some issues are mentioned here:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/illustrator-support-networks-removable-media.html
    Concerning the other issues, you may try the list.
    The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
    If possible/applicable, you should save current artwork first, of course.
    1) Close down Illy and open again;
    2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
    3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
    4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
    5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
    Even more seriously, you may:
    6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

    Did you contact Apple about the problem their update caused?
    Yosemite sometimes has problems, often related to "default" permissions needing to be changed

  • Files from Photoshop CC 2014 slows/crashes InDesign CS 6

    Placing images edited in Photoshop CC 2014 into InDesign CS 6 takes minutes, trying to create a PDF hangs up InDesign.

    Additional note: A possible workaround seems to be to open and save the image using Photoshop CS 6.

  • PS 2014 SLOW on Mac Yosemite 10.10

    I have  a real problem with many CC applications.  They are VERY slow on my Mac. I realize it is near EOL  but Dreamweaver runs acceptably. Pshop is terribly slow.  Most other CC programs are like molasses IF they run at all  (Illustrator only crashes on open).  I have 64 bit capability.   At this point, I'm going to have to go back to CS6 Suite for most things, unless there is a viable solution.

    Hi
    could you try to start the mac in the safe mode and then try to launch the application and check whether, they are running slow there or not.
    Start up in Safe Mode (Only essential OS X items are started; some features and apps might not work correctly.) Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold down the Shift key. Release the Shift key when you see the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).

  • Why is PS 2014 slower than PS CC on some video and GIF operations on my machine?

    When I try to make gifs in 2014, I click import> video frames to layers and it takes much more time to load than CC did. Then, when I finally choose the video I want to convert into frames, it takes MORE time loading. Honestly I am thinking about going back to CC.

  • Illustrator cc 2014 sluggish performance, old cc works fine

    i have a file in adobe illustrator cc 2014 that has a texture layer, i.e. a lot of little white specks. when i try to move/resize/anything this object, i get the lovely color spin wheel and everything grinds to a halt. illustrator cc 2014 slows, and i can't move or scale these objects. any other objects i can move about and scale fine. now if i open these exact same files in the previous adobe illustrator cc...it works just fine; silky smooth. no issues whatsoever. this is a small file, only 960 pt x 560 pt, and i'm on a monster machine: iMac 3.4 GHz i7 quad core with 32 GB RAM. Why am i having these performance issues in illustrator cc 2014?
    also...extra frustrating...can't get the Help Chat to work. I've tried both Safari and Chrome...click the Start Chat button...nothing...not cool.

    Hello Ashli315,
    Did you install any 3rd party plugins to your AICC 2014 installation? Or did you install any software say any font management software which might be causing the clash. Or was there any Windows update which got installed after which the crash started happening?
    Thanks!

  • File Menu Suddenly Slow

    Hello there about 3 weeks ago i noticed that my file menu has become extremely slow....
    basically if you have a timeline or preview window selected and click file it lags for  4 - 5 seconds same deal with the 'export' menu.... i know there is another thread about this but the issue was not resolved there and the poster did not provide enough information or reply to the comments to solve the issue....
    I've attached a video recording of the issue happening.
    Premiere Pro CC 2014 Slow Menus - YouTube
    Also the codec information for my video source:
    The video file was recorded with "Action!" Recorder using the Nvidia NVENC Codec. I've had no problems using these files in the past in both Adobe Premier Pro CS6 and CC 2014.
    I've installed the latest updates, and the issue has been present for about 3 weeks now.
    I've done all the usual stuff like cleaning out the media cache, resetting preferences, i've tried using different audio hardware thinking that it may be problematic audio drivers for my interface with no such luck.
    Also the media files are stored on a separate disk with decent enough read/write speeds and its in generally healthy conditions verified by 'smart'
    I have no vst audio plugins loaded in the project.
    The only plugin i have installed into premier pro and media encoder is the "NVENC Export Plugin" for lightning fast gpu rendering but i've also removed this and tested with no such luck.
    EDIT:
    I've just copied the source files to a new disk and removed the old disk from my system problem still not resolved.
    I hope i've provided enough information here!
    Kind Regards
    Ryan!

    No thanks to adobe support for failing to fix this problem.
    I contacted them 3 times via phone and was told i would receive a call back the next day with a solution and NEVER received a callback.
    I FIXED the problem myself....
    SOLUTION: format your pc after formatting and re installing CC all the footage, files and projects worked perfectly from the media disks.

  • Media Encoder fails with Time Remapping

    There is a single 1 Minute Clip in the PR CC 2014 timeline, with some time remapping effects. Exporting with Media Encoder CC 2014 SLOWS DOWN speed of the clip after approx. 30 sec unintentionally and therefore gets out of sync with sound, and ends at a complete different frame than in the timeline.
    However, exporting directly from PR CC 2014 gives correct result.
    Anyway, this looks like a major "feature" of ME!?!
    (MacBook Pro 2013, 15", 2,6 GHz i7, OS X 10.9.4)

    source is an uncompressed HD 1080 QT .mov file rendered from AE.
    sequence settings are 1920x1080, 25fps, square, progressive
    export settings are QT, H.264, 1920x1080, 25fps, progr, square, 20000kbps
